Source: Charlotte Observer / Getty Todd Palin Files For Divorce From Sarah Palin After 31 Years Of Marriage Sarah Palin’s husband, Todd, has filed for divorce from the former governor of Alaska and Vice Presidential candidate , citing “incompatibility of temperament” and that “they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.” According to NBC News , Todd Palin asked to dissolve the couple’s 31-year marriage in a filing submitted on Friday in Anchorage Superior Court. The paperwork was submitted only eight days after the couple’s anniversary. Though the filing only uses initials, it details the couple’s marriage date and the birth date of their 11-year-old son, Trig, asking for an equal separation of both assets and debts. The couple got married in 1988 and have five children: Track, Trig, Bristol, Willow and Piper. Todd’s filing asks for shared custody of their youngest, Trig. This news comes a little less than a year after their daughter, Bristol Palin , got divorced from her ex-husband Dakota Meyer, which followed their short stint on one season of MTV’s Teen Mom OG .
Some TV shows know when to call it quits. Others are dragged kicking and screaming on for season after season. These 13 TV shows need to be canceled with no prior announcement. Just end them already! 1. 13 Reasons Why – Netflix The first season was a solid, but the second was laughable. The third was even worse. It doesn’t even deserve a final season to wrap things up. End it NOW. 2. Fear the Walking Dead – AMC When Fear the Walking Dead debuted, it was a cut above its predecessor. But after some changes behind the scenes, the better characters were written out to make way for silly characters. The current fifth season is essentially a satire. 3. The Hills: New Beginnings – MTV The Hills was stale long before it went off the air in 2010. This reboot is about 10 times worse. The plots are forced, and it plays out as though the cast is desperate to create drama. It’s pretty sad. 4. Veronica Mars – Hulu Fans rejoiced when Veronica Mars returned as a series on Hulu, but then they went and killed off one of the most important characters. Now, fans really want the series to crash and burn. 5. The Affair – Showtime The Affair was groundbreaking when it launched, but it’s now in its fifth and final season. Absolutely nothing of note has happened, so it would be better to just cancel it without airing the rest of the episodes. It’s hard to imagine them being much better than the nonsense the series has been churning out. 6. Grey’s Anatomy – ABC We hate to say it, but Grey’s Anatomy has run its course. Meghan Markle has found herself in the hot seat once again. And this time it is all because she is too dang good of a friend! (seriously) After the Duchess made a secret getaway to New York City to watch her bestie Serena Williams play in the US Open, sources have now confirmed that the royals are royally pissed . According to Radar Online, the weekend of the Tennis Championship also happened to fall on the royal family’s Highland Games event at Balmoral Castle. Which Meghan was apparently “too busy” for, even though it was earlier reported by the Mail On Sunday that she and Prince Harry were set to attend the event. Hmm.. *sips tea.* Markle tried her best to keep her recent American travels on the DL as she quietly flew solo to NYC on Friday, successfully leaving on Sunday with little to no street paparazzi interferences, according to Page Six . A royal insider also shared that after Meghan’s talk-of-the-town baby shower , she learned her lesson. “After all the big fanfare of her [last NYC] trip for her two-day baby shower, where paparazzi followerd her every move and staked out The Mark Hotel to catch Meghan, her famous friends, and the array of gifts arriving, it seems Meghan has learned her lesson.” The poor girl just wanted to cheer on her bestie without being scrutinized! “She was in New York to support Serena, and catch up with a few other old friends, but was determined to keep everything low-key and as under-the-radar as possible,” shared the source. Unfortunately, it’s really not that possible. Instead, the whole world now knows that Meghan left baby Archie at home, boarded a (yep, commercial!) plane , took to the big apple, and in the royal’s minds she chose, once again, her famous friends over them. Dun, dun, dun… Scotland’s Braemar Gathering for the Highland Games — which includes a hammer throw and tug of war — has taken place for almost nine hundred years and it’s the royal family’s job to make an annual appearance to show their support to the competitors. The new mom, however, took the 3,500-mile flight to NY to sit in the stands to support her pal… which she did, in a very cute denim dress. Serena ended up losing the match to Bianca Andreescu of Canada, who walked away with the $3.85 million prize, but we’re sure it was still more entertaining than the ancient games taking place back in Europe. According to a source from The Mail on Sunday, the Queen felt “hurt” by Meghan’s absence as she intended to bring together her friends and family. And on top of her disappointment, the publication shared that the Queen is also “baffled” by Meghan and Harry’s lack of protocol. Yikes . To have the Queen of England “hurt” and/or “baffled” by you sounds like easily one of the most horrifying things, but on behalf of the Duchess, we’re proud of her for supporting her friend and for holding on to her life. Markle has been blasted too many times to count, from the British press dubbing her a diva to claims that she appears to be more comfortable hanging out with her celebrity friends than doing her royal duties. The rock queen recently did an interview with The New York Times and although she endured a hectic life, she’s now just as carefree as ever. She has a musical about her life headed to Broadway, she’s married to music producer Erwin Bach , and she’s enjoying the fruits of her labor with 10 years of retirement. “I don’t necessarily want to be a ‘strong’ person,’” she told the Times . “I had a terrible life. I just kept going. You just keep going, and you hope that something will come.” Ms. Turner then gestures to her extravagant home in Switzerland, adding, “This came.” Spoken like a true legend. Turner also spoke about her notoriously abusive relationship with the late Ike Turner, shedding insight on how forgiveness manifests for different people. “I don’t know if I could ever forgive all that Ike ever did to me,” Turner said. Then she added, “Ike’s dead. So we don’t have to worry about him.” There you have it. Along with her tips on resilience, Turner also gave tips on just relaxing and doing nothing. Although she had great moments during her 50 years of performing, Turner is enjoying retirement and has no plans to return as a music artist. “I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I don’t dress up,” she said. After a life of pleasing other people, Ms. Turner has no qualms about living a little selfishly in her soon-to-be 80s. “I was just tired of singing and making everybody happy,” she said. “That’s all I’d ever done in my life.” The upcoming Broadway musical, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, first made its debut in London before coming to the U.S., according to Playbill. Actress Adrienne Warren will reprise the title role and she’ll be joined by Daniel J. Watts as Ike Turner. Acclaimed playwright Katori Hall wrote the book for the show. “Tina is such a powerful being—beyond an icon,” Hall told the cast on their first day of rehearsal. “[Tina] always said she wanted to use the poison that she had to take in her life in order to create medicine for others. I want you guys in this rehearsal to embrace the responsibility. The responsibility of telling this story that is going to transform people.” Tina will explore Ms. Turner’s life from Nutbush, Tennessee to international fame. Performances will start on October 12 at the Lunt-Fortanne Theatre and opening night is November 7.

Yoba is an honorary member of the fraternity according to The Jasmine Brand. He was named their youth “Sigma Beta Club” spokesperson recently. The fraternity has released a statement regarding Mariah Lopez Ebony . The now transgender adult claims Yoba solicited sex from her as a vulnerable teen. Yoba was removed from the organization on Thursday and the following statement was released: “Those reports allege that Yoba had been previously involved in an inappropriate relationship 20 years ago, allegations that Brother Yoba denies. This is a serious issue and the allegation is inconsistent with, and a distraction to, the focus of the Sigma Beta Club. To safeguard the reputation of the program and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., the National Sigma Beta Club Foundation, in consultation with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity’s leadership, has determined it to be in the best interest of all concerned that Brother Malik Yoba no longer serve as the National Spokesperson for the Sigma Beta Club program.” Malik Yoba previously denied Ebony’s claims. So far he hasn’t commented about being dropped from the program.

He’s always leaned into dressing Black Hollywood, whether it was coming to the rescue of Leslie Jones who couldn’t find a designer to dress her on the red carpet, or stylishly shaping the curves (and even placing her on the runway) of Danielle Brooks . At the Orange Is The New Black season finale, many of the women were wearing designs by Siriano. While we praise diversity in fashion , we still have a long way to go. It shouldn’t be a headline that a designer is dressing a curvy or tall Black woman. However, his efforts, have helped to push diversity in the industry and call out designers who are still designing for the same, monolithic customer. Nevertheless, even allies can make mistakes. According to WWD , Sirano showed hairstylists a photo of Gigi Hadid in a braided style and dubbed the look the “Gigi Braid.” And while yes, Hadid may have worn this exact hairstyle, when I think of braids, I do not think of white women. There is nothing wrong with Gigi Hadid wearing a braided hairstyle; however, there is a huge problem in the industry (and media) with Blackness only being desired or adored when placed on white bodies. Braids have a long history going back to Africa. Specific braided styles represented class and even occasions while some braided styles were actually maps to freedom during the slave trade . An erasure of history. Erasure is a form of racism that has been embedded in American culture when it comes to Black people. To not even acknowledge the history of something is to say it doesn’t exist. He could have still called it the ‘Gigi Braid’; however, it should have had some historical context. With a platform as large as his, simply adding that braids are historically from Black culture and natural hairstyles have seen a resurgence on the runway and red carpet, would have educated a mass of people who probably aren’t looking for this information on their own. We’ve already been through this with Bo Derek and her braids. “Bo Derek Braids” are not a thing. Bo Derek is a woman who wore braids, but she did not start or create the braided style. The ‘Bo Derek Braids’ nomenclature occurred after the 1979 movie ‘ 10 ‘. If it seems like one is nit picking, fast forward to almost 40 years later to Kim Kardashian (who whether we like it or not, influences culture), called her braids ‘Bo Derek Braids.’ Mis-education is also a form of erasure. With the CFDA placing diversity as a major importance, it’s imperative to know that it goes beyond throwing more Black models on the runway . Fashion is fantasy so inspiration will be taken from a multitude of places; it’s important to correctly site where said inspiration is derived.
