A lot of fans are happy to see Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke join the show, even if it’s just to shake things up. Sutton’s casting is extra good news for Lisa Rinna, as the two women are BFFs. Earlier this month, the world learned that it's over between Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter . But when this sneak peek clip from The Hills: New Beginnings was filmed, they were still a couple and shooting down relationship rumors. To their shared frustration, a rumor cropped up that they had once been polyamorous. Is it true? In this sneak peek from The Hills: New Beginnings , Kaitlynn's friend Liz Facetimes her to warn her. Stephanie Pratt has been gossiping about her, Liz cautions, saying: “She’s just, like, asking about your relationship.” According to Liz: “She’s like, ‘I don’t know. Isn’t there someone else, like, involved?’” “What does she mean by that?” Kaitlynn asks, looking amused if anything. Liz reports: “She thinks you guys are like in this, like, polyamorous relationship.” Liz sort of stumbles over the word “polyamorous,” which is a good reminder that some of us use that word more often than others. If you need a reminder, a polyamorous relationship usually involves more than two people in an often romantic relationship. It can mean one person in a serious relationship with two others who know about each other. It could mean eight people who all date all of the others. Brody hears this theory and quickly interjects. “That’s none of her business,” Brody asserts. He continues, saying: “You know, we just, we like what we like.” Kaitlynn then uses the confessional camera to explain to viewers what gave Stephanie this idea. “When Brody and I first were together,” she recalls. “We were young, we were crazy.” “We were, like, you know, basically just trying to have the time of our lives,” Kaitlynn continues. “So,” she informs the viewers. “We did a lot of things in our relationship.” Oh? What kinds of things. Kaitlynn explains that these were hings “that, you know, I certainly wouldn’t say I regret.” Good. Regrets serve little good, especially if you were having fun at the time. But her words could mean polyamory. It could also mean that they had an open relationship or had a lot of threesomes, foursomes, or “moresomes.” Apparently they were content to leave that up to everyone's imaginations. “But,” Kaitlyn expresses. “The level of gossip that I feel happens in the group — it just makes me angry.” That's very fair. On August second, Brody and Kaitlynn announced their shocking split. “Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate,” their representative announced in a statement. “They love and respect one another,” the statement affirmed. “And know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward.” Though the two held a well-publicized wedding ceremony in June of 2018, they were never legally married. That makes Caitlyn Jenner's inability to attend her son's “wedding” a much smaller deal. (Also, if he wanted her to attend, he shouldn't have scheduled his last-minute ceremony during Pride Month) About a week later, Kaitlynn was seen gal pal-ing around with none other than Miley Cyrus. “Brody and Kaitlynn separated on good terms and are still close friends,” a source insisted at the time. “Brody is in a great headspace right now,” the insider reported. “And really isn’t bothered by Kaitlynn and Miley’s relationship.” Miley and Kaitlynn have not been trying to hide what they have going, either on social media or at major awards shows like the VMAs. It's interesting, but not necessarily signiificant, that both now-split couples were friends before things fell apart. And Miley and Liam were rumored to have struggled with whether or not to be an open relationship. This clip and this episode are likely not going to do anythign to discourage rumors.
Back in July, baseball fans were stunned by the death of Tyler Skaggs , a 27-year-old pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels. Now, medical examiners in Los Angeles county have released the results of toxicology testing that points to the cause of Skaggs’ death. According to the official coroner’s report, Skaggs passed away due to a combination “alcohol, fentanyl and oxycodone intoxication with terminal aspiration of gastric contents.” It appears that after a night in which he ingested several intoxicating substances, Skaggs choked on his own vomit while unconscious. Now, in a shocking turn of events, the Skaggs family has revealed that they intend to take legal action, as they believe an employee of the Angels is directly responsible for Tyler’s passing: “We are heartbroken to learn that the passing of our beloved Tyler was the result of a combination of dangerous drugs and alcohol,” the statement said. “That is completely out of character for someone who worked so hard to become a Major League baseball player and had a very promising future in the game he loved so much,” it continued. “We are grateful for the work of the detectives in the Southlake Police Department and their ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tyler’s death. We were shocked to learn that it may involve an employee of the Los Angeles Angels,” the grieving family added. “We will not rest until we learn the truth about how Tyler came into possession of these narcotics, including who supplied them. To that end, we have hired attorney Rusty Hardin to assist us.” This is the first time the family has publicly suggested the possibility of taking action against the Angels. In his own statement, attorney Hardin stated that it’s “way too early” to speculate on any potential legal action by Skaggs’ loved ones. “I think the thing to keep in mind is they’re just still so devastated, both the wife and the family, about this young man’s death, and they just want to know what happened and how it happened,” Hardin told the Los Angeles Times. “We’re going to want to know how it came about that those drugs were ingested and whether or not others are responsible for what happened.” The Angels have yet to publicly respond to the allegations and have issued no official statement on Skagg’s passing since their initial press release: “It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas,” the team said at the time. “Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels family. Valerie Harper, a veteran actress best known for having played one of TV’s most popular and enduring characters died on Friday after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Harper enjoyed a long and highly respected acting career. However, she will forever be remembered for taking on the role of the constantly dating, constantly dieting Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Her passing was confirmed late Friday via statement on behalf of the late star’s husband, Tony Cacciotti: It read as follows: “My dad has asked me to pass on this message: ‘My beautiful caring wife of nearly 40 years has passed away at 10:06am, after years of fighting cancer. “She will never, ever be forgotten. Rest In Peace, mia Valeria. -Anthony.” Harper had been dealing with a number of health issues over the past few years, including leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, lung cancer and brain cancer. On July 8, just about two months before she died, a family friend set up a GoFundMe page titled “The Valerie Harper Cancer Support Fund.” It was meant to assist Harper with her daily “unrelenting medical costs” so that she would receive “the best care possible.” Within the first week, the campaign had raised over $40,000 from friends, family and many of Harper’s long-time fans and supporters. Back in 2013, the actress was given a mere three months to live after being diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, an extremely rare condition in which cancer cells spread to the membranes surrounding the brain. And yet: She defied the odds after undergoing chemotherapy treatments, even competing on Dancing With the Stars later that same year. Incredibly. “People are saying, ‘She’s on her way to death and quickly,’” she told Fox News in September of 2017. “Now it’s five years instead of three months.” Harper debuted in her iconic role the kooky neighbor from New York on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1970. She won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress that same year, despite the comedy struggling in the ratings at first. From 1974 through 1978, she anchored the spin-off Rhoda, later winning the Best Actress Emmy. When this character got married on October 28, 1974, the special hour-long episode destroyed ratings records with 52 million viewers. The actress also starred on Valerie (also titled Valerie’s Family and The Hogan Family), in addition to films such as Freebie and the Bean and Chapter Two. She earned a Tony Award nomination in 2010 for her performance as Tallulah Bankhead in Looped. Harper is survived by Tony, whom she married in 1987, and their daughter, Cristina. This is Us is a mega, gigantic, super hit on NBC for one reason and, really, one reason only: It features characters viewers know and love. And yet: Thee Seeason 4 trailer featured on this page makes it clear that upcoming episodes will give us a look at character we don't know — and maybe won't love. Indeed, NBC has now confirmed that This Is Us Season 4 will introduce fans to 10 new characters, many of whom will be played by very familiar faces. “It’s so strange, isn’t it? How just like that a complete stranger can become such a big part of your story,” Mandy Moore‘s Rebecca Pearson tells future husband Jack, played by Milo Ventimiglia, early on in this video. “It’s actually kind of terrifying, you know, how a single cross with one person you’ve never met can change everything,” she adds … as glimpses of new characters appear. So… who are these strangers? And how will they impact the This Is Us universe we've been watching for years? Most details are being kept under wraps, but we do know who they're played by: Asante Blackk Marsha Stephanie Blake Omar Epps Bahara Golestani Jennifer Morrison Timothy Omundson M. Night Shyamalan Julian Silva Auden Thornton Nick Wechsler Morrison is set to make her debut on the drama as a military woman, this much we know. In one sense, the future looks a little bleak for Kody and Janelle Brown. As a romantic couple, that is. In another sense, however, the future is bright and amazing and even totally miraculous for Kody and Janelle Brown… because they just welcomed a grandchild together! On Friday, August 30, Sister Wives fans learned that the pair’s daughter, Maddie, gave birth several days earlier to a little girl. We know this because Janelle herself alerted followers on Instagram, posting the photo below and including with it a caption that reads as follows: Axel loves his new little sister Evie (Short for Evangalynn)! Please tell me that other grandmothers can stare at their grandkids photos forever. #grandkids. For those unaware: Janelle is Kody’s second wife, with whom he has six kids. By all accounts, it appears as if Janelle was present in North Carolina when her granddaughter arrived, although it’s unclear if the same can be said about Kody. We somehow doubt he was there. Lately, according to a wide variety of sources and outlets, there has been tension between Janelle, Kody and his other wives: Meri, Christine and Robyn. There’s even been talk that Kody may be in the market for a fifth wife as a result. As previously reported, Janelle spent Mother’s Day without Kody, seeming “very lonely,” a Radar Online insider said this past spring. Then, on Father’s Day, Janelle left town to hang out with friends and family in Virginia, fueling even more chatter about this romance being on thin ice. Of all Kody’s wives, Janelle has typically been the least likely to speak out and/or to stir up any sort of controversy — but she did make headlines just a few weeks ago. In mid-August, Janelle shared a photo online of her grandson , Axel, giving us a look at the toddler playing in a splash pad and eating breakfast … and looking downright adorable. Was this merely an example of a proud grandmother? Probably. I began to physically distance myself as much as I could in our very small three-bedroom mobile home. “I didn’t spend much time in the common areas, instead setting up my bedroom as the living space.” This whole set-up just seems so unhealthy for all the women involved. A middle schooler from Louisiana is paying it forward by ensuring that his classmates have basic necessities to start the school year. He and other students were tasked with developing ideas for social good initiatives that would benefit the school and the local community. Aware of the struggles faced by some of his peers, Neyland-Square decided to transform one of the closets at his school into PAM’s Pantry; a space that houses donated clothes, shoes, personal care and hygiene products and school supplies for students and their families. “I know that everybody doesn’t have things and I’m fortunate to have things that other people don’t have, and I look at it as sometimes, how would I feel in that situation?” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “I’m going to come back and continue working on PAM’s Pantry. I’m hoping one day I can turn it into a non-profit organization.” Initiatives like the one being led by Neyland-Square are needed. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. Several youngsters are leading their own philanthropic efforts to help people in need. In celebration of their birthday, Alabama-based 12-year-olds Breanna and Brooke Bennett launched an initiative designed to provide care packages that include hygiene products for girls their age. In North Carolina, a 3-year-old entrepreneur donated the sales from her lemonade stand to help homeless mothers and children. P hiladelphia-bred rapper Meek Mill is no stranger to philanthropy. In the past, the hip-hop star—whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams —has hosted toy giveaways and school drives benefiting children in his hometown. Williams is continuing his mission to inspire and empower the youth in Philly. According to CBS News , he recently unveiled renovated basketball courts in North Philadelphia. During the unveiling ceremony, the “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper thanked those who helped bring the project to fruition and played basketball with the children who were in attendance. Williams says he’s happy to have the platform and resources to give back to his community. “North Philly will always be home. When kids go to East Fairmount Park, they deserve to ball in the best conditions possible, so I’m glad they’ll have that opportunity now,” he said when announcing the project last year. Leaders of the initiative are beyond thankful for his continued commitment to uplift the youth in Philadelphia. “A lot of people make it, come back for a minute, get a little cameras and then they’re gone,” said Philadelphia City Council President Darrell Clarke in a statement. “My man, he keeps coming back and I’m loving it.” Williams has been making power moves beyond music this year. He was named co-owner of the sports apparel brand Lids and he has continued to fight for criminal justice reform by joining forces with lawmakers to propose a probation and parole reform bill .
