Bey recently sat down with the GMA host to talk the “Lion King” compilation album that she’s calling a “ love-letter to Africa.” As previously reported she personally produced-and-curated the project titled, “The Lion King: The Gift.” It features global artists and is due out July 19, the same day the film hits theaters. This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” Knowles-Carter told ABC News. “I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa,” she said, adding that they used “a lot” of drums and “incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America. “We’ve kind of created our own genre and I feel like the soundtrack is the first soundtrack where it becomes visual in your in your mind,” she explained. “The soundscape is more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film.” Watch Beyonce talk “The Lion King: The Gift” above.

Barraza/WENN.com / WENN The New York Times reports that Nipsey Hussle is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department and the city’s attorney’s office, even after the rapper and community leader’s death in March. According to the publication, Hussle, his business associates, as well as his Marathon Clothing store, are all under investigation to determine if the strip mall he owned was a center for gang activity. The investigation started before Hussle’s murder this past March and is currently ongoing. Although a direct reason was not given as to why the investigation began, a spokesman for the LAPD told the Times that they are negotiating with Hussle’s partners on the property to “mitigate some of the crime issues.” Blacc Sam, Hussle’s brother briefly mentioned in his eulogy how the city pressured Hussle’s former landlords to evict him and his associates but instead, the former owners sold the property to Hussle and a group of investors. Well, if you were looking forward to Single Ronnie re-joining the Spiral Squad on the current season of Jersey Shore, we’re afraid you may be disappointed. According to his latest interview, Ronnie is still in a relationship with Jen Harley — and it seems he has every intention of sticking by his baby mama’s side. “Right now things are going good [with Jen], and I think it’s because I made a change and I stopped doing the same thing over and over again,” Magro told Us Weekly exclusively. “I started just focusing on myself and stopped worrying about what other people wanted from me, and what I want for myself. So right now things are good.” “I’ve decided to start focusing more on me” sounds like your a New Year’s resolution announced by your most narcissistic friend, but we think we know what Ronnie is trying to say here. Focusing his attention on what others thought or expected of him led to his signature “Ron-pages” … and incidents like last year’s Vegas pool party fight that briefly shut down production on Shore. When Ronnie focuses on what’s best for Ronnie he surges, rather than spirals. Many would argue that what’s best for Ronnie would be breaking up with Harley again and actually making it stick this time, but hey — do you, bruh. Unfortunately, Ronnie’s announcement that he and Jen are still an item comes at an awkward time. Thursday’s episode of Jersey Shore saw Ronnie spinning an unlikely story of being attacked in a restaurant parking lot the night before Mike Sorrentino’s sentencing. Holes in the story and injuries that seemed inconsistent with Ronnie’s account led many to the conclusion that he had been attacked by Harley and was attempting to shield his baby mama from blame. But Ronnie promises that he will not be at the center of the drama during the new season of Shore. For one thing, we imagine much of the focus will be on Mike Sorrentino, who was sentenced to two years in prison on last week’s episode. (Sorrentino’s sentence was later reduced. He’s currently behind bars, but will likely be released to a halfway house before the end of summer.) On top of that, Ronnie is newly sober and intends to stay that way. That means no Ron-Ron Juice, no smush rooms … and hopefully, no drama. “I feel like now that everyone’s growing up! Even the new season, it’s not us in the club,” he added. “A lot of the stuff that goes on with us is real life stuff, real life things, and real life s–t doesn’t go on in the clubs anymore!” That’s all well and good … but bad stuff can happen outside of the club, too. Just keep this man away from rooms with “self-closing” doors, and everything will be fine!

Last week, Diddy had the Internets on fire when he asked his followers if they were into the idea of the reality competition series’ return. Along with nostalgia for seeing aspiring artists walk all the way to Brooklyn for some cheesecake (the original premiered back in 2002), the overwhelming response was basically, Hell yes. Diddy made the announcement via Instagram, obviously, and even began by bigging up Seth Rogen and Wale for sparking the idea. “I know that I’m going to build the biggest bands in the world,” said Diddy while reminiscing about the fun times he had with the show that launched acts including Danity Kane, Day26, Da Band and Donnie Klang. But this time he’s doing a global talent search. The Internets makes that easier. “I’ve made my decision… #MakingTheBand is coming back!!! This will be a global talent search, upload your auditions now using #MTBcasting!!,” reads the caption of Diddy’s video announcement. “We couldn’t be happier to welcome back the incomparable Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to his rightful home at MTV,” said Nina L. Diaz, MTV’s President of Entertainment, via a press statement.. “‘Making the Band’ was ahead of its time and the ultimate disruptor – fans everywhere have been clamoring for a return and they are in for the biggest, most iconic season yet.” As for some details, submissions will be accepted across all social platforms including Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, by uploading a video submission using #MTBCasting . This is where Shekinah mentions to Kendra, Sierra, and Bambi that Karlie Redd, read her lie detector test results and it turned out that Pooh lied. Kendra points out that Karlie has a lot of tricks up her sleeves so the papers could have been falsified. However, the general consensus is that Karlie’s results are right and that Pooh is the liar. Next, they get on the topic of Kendra and Koc. Kendra mentions that she moved out of Joc’s house because they’re broken up, but in the same breath, she admits that she misses him. That is enough to put the battery in Shekinah’s back. She wants to be the one to get them back together. Let the scheming begin. Let’s fast forward to Mimi’s girlfriend, Ty and Stevie J. Basically, Ty goes behind Mimi’s back and meets up with Stevie to try to put their issues aside. Remember, Stevie keeps posting shady comments on Ty’s social media, which she and Mimi are not thrilled about. Ty wants to get on the same page with Stevie for Eva’s sake. We all know that trying to have this convo with Stevie is dumb because it just ends up with him being childish. In an interesting twist of things, they end up playing ball. If Stevie wins, Ty wears a mini skirt (it figures), if she wins, he’ll apologize. Ty spanks him, of course. But we know Stevie ain’t about to deliver a sincere apology. Scrapp DeLeon and his business partner are opening up a restaurant and they invite Che Mack, Joc, Che, Scrappy, and Kirk to taste test. But the real point of this scene is for scrappy to reveal to Joc that he heard Kendra saying that she missed Jasiel. We see where this is going so let’s fast forward some more. Now we’re at an “early opening party” for Frost Bistro, Kirk and Rasheeda’s new restaurant. It is here that Shekinah runs into Joc. She feels guilty about Joc and Kendra breaking up because she played a part in the gossip that led to their demise. She apologizes to Joc again but then they devise a plan to get Joc and Kendra together again. Now we’re back with Mimi and Ty, kicking it at home. This is supposed to be their last night together before Ty goes to Vegas for work. Ty explains her previous meeting with Stevie and that he’s coming to their house in a few. Stevie arrives with his wife, Faith Evans, and all four of them sit down and attempt to chat. Stevie offers another non-apology for yet another shady post since the basketball game. Faith even agrees that Stevie tried it, but she married him. This conversation ends with Mimi and Stevie verbally sparring with each other, again. Faith just ends dragging Stevie out of there. Finally, the episode winds down back on Joc’s situation. He shows up to a party where she is, professes his love for her and then proposes. This is enough for Kendra do let go of her anger. She said yes. She claims to now understand that Jacil is for her and he’s ready to be her husband. Then we end the episode with Joc talking about how he’s happy he got Kendra back and how it’s time to trim the fat at the beauty shop so he doesn’t deal with this type of drama again, and then goes the montage with everyone talking about their goals, dreams, etc, summarizing the season. We’ll see them all for the reunion, which will probably be dramaful (yes, dramaful), just the way we like it. It was reported by British Tabloid Daily Mail that 007 would be experiencing a radical makeover in the form of 31-year-old black women and making history. For years now it has been speculated that Daniel Craig’s last time on screen as James Bond would be in 2020 with the released of Bond 25, (this is not the official name, just the temporary name to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the British Secret Service Agent.) According to the report, the upcoming, film will reveal Lynch as the new 007 with Craig’s character coming out of retirement to team up with her for one last mission. The James Bond series has spanned over 60 years, with the first movie coming out in 1962, featuring Sean Connery. Through the years the show has developed a very loyal and protective fan base. In the series’ existence, six different characters have served as James Bond, all six have been white men. Back in 2014, it was reported by many outlets that Idris Elba would take over as the new James Bond, that upset many of the 007 fan base.o “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” a “movie insider” told the tabloid. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond, but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.” Then in April of 2018 Elba came out and squashed those rumors stating that he is not interested in the position, saying “You’re THAT character, and known as that character for many, many years.” “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” a “movie insider” told the outlet. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment.
