Source: Derrick Salters/WENN.com / WENN Rihanna was locked in a legal tussle with the Freedom United clothing brand over the use of the F.U. logo on her Puma line. The singer and fashion maven settled with the company for an undisclosed amount, bringing the matter to an official close. The Blast reports : According to court documents obtained by The Blast, RiRi and the clothing company Freedom United have privately settled the case. The judge then closed the case officially. Last year, Freedom United sued Rihanna and claimed they have been making clothing with an “FU” logo since 2006 and even have it trademarked. Freedom United said RiRi then launched her PUMA deal and began hawking items with a similar “F.U.” logo on her “Fenty University” clothing. Rihanna is one to bigger and better things in the fashion world after it was recently announced that she’ll have her own line with the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group. — Photo: WENN

Luxury Brand Losers: The Goofies At Gucci Get Slammed For Selling $790 Sikh Style Tone Deaf Turbans

Source: Venturelli/WireImage / Getty Gucci Accused Of Religious/Cultural Appropriation For $790 Sikhi Style Turbans SMH. After all the blackface backlash , Gucci is getting groaned again — this time for selling $790 turbans that are similar in style to the dastaar (turban) worn by members of the Sikh faith. According to Washington Post , the brand originally drew ire from the Sikh community when the luxury designer had a white model walking the runway in a bright blue turban last year: It was styled nearly identically to the traditional headwear of Sikhs, who follow a faith with roots in South Asia, and outrage abounded. The Italian luxury brand was widely panned for not showing the look on “a brown model” and failing to grasp the turban’s significance. “As a Sikh, I see this as a huge sign of disrespect and disregard toward Sikhism,” one person tweeted at the time. Apparently that wasn’t enough to halt production because this week Gucci’s “Indy Full Turban” — described as a “gorgeously crafted turban” that is “ready to turn heads while keeping you in comfort as well as trademark style” — was being sold by Nordstrom for a reported price of $790. As of Wednesday evening, the item was listed as sold out on Nordstrom’s website and the price no longer appeared. The department store and Gucci did not respond to requests for comment from the Washington Post. Meanwhile there’s been a (well deserved, in our opinion) outcry from Sikhs and other critics over misappropriating an article of clothing that has religious significance and whose wearers have been attacked, discriminated against and even killed. The turban is not just an accessory to monetize; it's a religious article of faith that millions of Sikhs view as sacred. Many find this cultural appropriation inappropriate, since those wearing the turban just for fashion will not appreciate its deep religious significance. pic.twitter.com/fldmxa3Wvr — Sikh Coalition (@sikh_coalition) May 14, 2019 On Tuesday, the Sikh Coalition tweeted an image of the Nordstrom listing and criticized the treatment of the “sacred” headwear. “The turban is not just an accessory to monetize,” the group wrote, adding in a separate tweet that it had contacted Nordstrom and Gucci. It wrote: “Many find this cultural appropriation inappropriate, since those wearing the turban just for fashion will not appreciate its deep religious significance.” There’s much more to unpack with this particular item of clothing. Hit the flip for more tweets that explain why this was such a huge offense.

Yesterday DJ Khaled did his part when he posted a touching tribute to the Victory Lap artist on his IG page in which he announced the release of their collaboration cut dubbed “Higher” and how they put down the track just days before Nip was murdered. “Just days prior, he shared his energy and positivity with me on a video set for a song called “Higher.” After much prayer and reflection; and with the full blessing of the Asghedom family, I am sharing that moment with the world.” To further honor the memory and family of Nip, Khaled stated that they are “donating 100% of all our proceeds from “Higher” to Nipsey’s children, Emani and Kross.” Well done, sir. Nipsey Hussle and DJ Khaled’s “Higher” is one of the cuts to be included in Khaled’s upcoming album Father of Asahd which drops this Friday (May 17). Check out the post below. Khloe Kardashian: Being Nice to Tristan SUCKS But I Do It for True!

Despite wild accusations that she’s neglecting True by relying upon nannies, Khloe Kardashian’s whole world revolves around her daughter. And sometimes, that means calmly coparenting with her cheating baby daddy, Tristan Thompson. But Khloe admits that it’s not easy playing nice with a scoundrel. In fact, she admits that it “f–king sucks.” Khloe Kardashian spoke on Laura Wasser’s Divorce Sucks! podcast  “I do everything in my power to not even bring…” Khloe says, trailing off. it seems clear that she was going to talk about putting True in the middle of her parents’ drama. “True is 1 and like a month old,” Khloe acknowledges. “So she doesn’t really know what’s happening.” “But to me she does know,” she claims. “And she feels energy and I’m a big believer of that.” Khloe’s claim may sound like a bit much, but we think that we understand her meaning. “So,” she explains. “I do everything in my power to not put any sort of heavy energy around her.” “Maybe that sounds a little too like bohemian to some people,” Khloe admits. Not necessarily. Describing it as “energy” may make it sound like a spiritual belief or even just goofy. But at 13 months, True could certainly pick up on tension in her parents’ voices, body language, and interactions. That’s part of growing up. Khloe then explains exactly why she invited Tristan to attend True’s first birthday. “I didn’t do it because I thought she was going to remember this first party,” Khloe clarifies. Most people don’t remember their first birthday party, or even have the context to understand it at the moment. “It was really for me,” Khloe admits. “I just wanted a happy, heavenly place,” she expresses. But Khloe does say that she thinks that True will ultimately be happy that Tristan was at the party. Khloe reasons: “I know that she’s gonna wanna look back at all of her childhood memories like we all do.” “Se and my sisters,” she points out. “We will sit on the floor looking at our old photo albums.” This is a great reminder that, even thought he Kardashians aren’t especially old — Kourtney is the eldest, and she’s forty! … But just a few elements of the Kardashian lifestyle sounds like it comes from people decades older. We get it. It’s a bunch of siblings in a closely knit family. Their lives are not like ours. But even though she’d like to paint a glossy picture of her coparenting life, she says that things with Tristan are still rough. “It does f–king suck,” Khloe confesses. She affirms “It does.” “And,” Khloe adds. “There’s moments that because our personal emotions are still in there and for me, you know.” That wasn’t a super cohesive line, but we all understand her meaning. Khloe still has pangs of difficult, negative emotions over all of the Tristan drama. “Tristan and I broke up not too long ago,” Khloe states. “So,” she explains. “It’s really raw.” Notably, it has been rumored and even strongly implied that Khloe and Tristan had already broken up before he visited an uninvited kiss upon Jordyn Woods. But “not too long ago” is deeply subjective. It sounds like Khloe is being vague on purpose. “And so,” Khloe concludes. “Those emotions could be heightened at times.” We can only imagine so.
