Both Kim Kardashian and Hillary Clinton were forced to endure a period of time in which they couldn’t give an interview without being forced to talk about Donald Trump. We imagine every day felt like an awkward Thanksgiving with the added pressure of knowing that if you say the wrong thing, you might find yourself quoted in ten million clickbait headlines. Thankfully, the trend of journalists grilling two of the world’s most famous women like they just got back from a date with the Donald seems to be subsiding. Now, the focus is on Hillary and Kim — their accomplishments, their visions for the future, and their efforts to make the world a better place. Just kidding — now they’re being asked about Meghan Markle, but that’s gotta be a welcome change of pace. As you’ve likely heard, Meghan has been treated unfairly by the British press. You might be inclined to point out that the relationship between the Royals and the UK media has always been a tense one. To which we say — you’re right. Indeed, the Windsors are used to being slandered by the tabloids — so when they say the current situation is unendurable, you know they’re not just being thin-skinned. Earlier this month, Prince Harry blasted the press for its egregious mistreatment of Meghan. And now, the Duchess of Sussex has gained two powerful allies from her home country: “I do want to say that the way she’s been treated is inexplicable,” Hillary told The Sunday Times of London . “If the explanation is that she’s biracial, then shame on everybody,” Clinton said, adding that she believes race is “certainly part of” the abuse. “She proudly had a career first and has a voice that she thankfully continues to use,” Chelsea Clinton added. “Anyone who has the temerity to break the mold of what has previously been established and expected often, unfortunately, receives criticism and bile that I don’t understand.” Kim was asked a similar line of questions by The Daily Mail , but interestingly, the paper chose to focus on the recent controversy of Meghan and Harry traveling in private jets , a tendency that many feel is at odds with the couple’s conservation efforts. (Seems that as the mother of biracial children, Kim might have some interesting thoughts n being biracial in the spotlight, but we digress …) “I think that everyone makes their own choices and decisions,” said Mrs. Kardashian-West. “And I think that, like I said, no one’s gonna be perfect. I’m not, they’re not. I don’t know who is.” Kim added: “I still love and value the fact they bring such attention to such important movements that need to happen and things that they’re really passionate about cause they’re still changing the world.” So whose support is more valuable to Meg? Tough to say. Obviously, Hillary is more accomplished, but globally, Kim is more famous. We just know that if Michelle Obama and Beyonce get in on this then bullying Meghan might soon be punishable by death. As it should be. It’s been over a week since Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus were spotted kissing . Since then, Miley put slut-shamers on blast , but that’s not quite the same as officially, officially confirming that they’re an item. Now, the two are sharing cutesy (and steamy) photos, touching tongues in bed, and yes, confirming that they’re dating. Cody Simpson opened up to In Touch Weekly and other tabloids about his happy new relationship with Miley Cyrus. “I’m very happy. Yeah, I’m very, very happy, so,” Cody began. “She’s creative, she’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense,” he observes. Cody explains: “That’s why we get along so well.” “We just have a ball and that’s the most important part of a relationship,” he affirms. “It’s like … we’ve been friends … the reason why it’s not like … it hasn’t been a really crazy sudden thing,” Cody states. The secret to their newfound happiness “is we’ve been friends for so long.” Cody continues: “When we sort of found each other again in a space where … we both met back in the day when we were partying a lot.” “We had a lot of fun then,” he admits. “But now we’ve found each other in a space where we’re not partying, working real hard.” He expresses: “And just like keeps things healthy.” Cody cannot stop singing the praises of being friends before being lovers. “It breaks the ice,” he explains. “That had never happened to me before.” “Any girlfriend that I’ve had in the past has always been immediate romance,” Cody recalls. He continues: “And so it’s kind of like a different experience having been friends with somebody before and developing that into something more.” “It’s just like a very natural, healthy feeling,” Cody gushes. He also says that the fact that they’re both so familiar with each other’s lifestyles is a huge bonus. “It’s just that I just have someone to come back to and someone who supports you,” Cody notes. “I’m very busy now working on my album and that’s kind of been … I’m out most of the day doing that,” he shares. Cody expresses: “And so it’s nice to be able to come home to somebody who gets it and understands you.” “I try to do the same for her and give her stuff,” he adds. “We always have as friends and now it’s just a little different.” “I wrote her a song this week that she’s pretty much forcing me to put out,” Cody reveals. “She’s like, ‘If you don’t put this shit out, I’m putting it out on your behalf for you. I’m getting your Spotify login and doing this s–t myself,’” he says. “And I was just like, ‘Alright, alright I’ll do it.’ So I recorded it this week, I’m gonna put it up next week,” Cody announces. “It’s something I wrote for her while she was sick this week,” he says, referring to Miley’s tonsilitis and hospitalization. She’s doing much better now, of course, now that she’s home with the man she calls her “boo thang.” View Slideshow: Miley Cyrus Risks Catastrophic Nip-Slip on Saturday Night Live

I n 2014 the senseless murder of Mike Brown shook the nation. It was that tragic incident where many people, including While Black podcast creator Vince , came to the realization that the string of fatal police-related shootings happening throughout the country were far from being isolated situations and the ugly truths about racism in America were being brought to the forefront. While watching news coverage of the unrest that was unraveling in Ferguson following the 18-year-old’s death, alongside some of his white colleagues at work, Vince couldn’t help but notice how disconnected they were. The detachment and disregard left him feeling unsettled, forgotten, and invisible. He couldn’t wrap his mind around the fact that one could be so detached from an incident that impacted the entire country. He also was appalled by what he says were inaccurate narratives surrounding Brown and what took place that were being perpetuated by the media. It was in this moment where he realized he needed to become a voice for his community and utilize his platform to enlighten folks on what it’s like to be Black in America. After years of using his social media platforms as an avenue to inform and ignite crucial conversations about social and political issues as they relate to the Black community, in 2018 Vince decided to launch the podcast While Black . The name stemmed from the James Baldwin quote “To be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage almost all the time.” He also pulled his inspiration from gems dropped by the late rapper Tupac Shakur about racial and economic inequality in America. “I have an obligation to reach across this color isle and begin to inform white America of what it is to be Black in America. My social channels have a diverse audience and I understood the influence of my reach. I turned my social media feed and my platform into a social justice lightning rod,” Vince told NewsOne. Going beyond the mission of giving individuals insight into the complexities of being Black in America, he also wanted to use the platform to close the knowledge and education gaps within the Black community. “I’m trying to create a platform that can use entertainment and fun to educate us on things that we truly need to be educated on. Whether it is correcting misconceptions, whether it is providing awareness, or whether it is providing additional education or inspiration. I find topics where I feel like there could be gaps within the African American community and I try to fill them.” Cognizant of the fact that the Black experience in America isn’t monolithic, Vince and his cohost Art feature a wide spectrum of guests who are experts in different spaces. From rappers to doctors and wealth building to parenting, the podcast covers a large range of topics. Source: While Black Podcast He says some of the most memorable guests that have been featured on the podcast include musician Okorie “OkCello” Johnson and Black activist Kimoni Sadiq . “Every episode will be with someone who has expertise or credibility in a space. Whether you agree with them or not, it’s thought-provoking, based on reality and provides you with something to chew on.” For Vince, While Black is all about educating and empowering the Black community to take control of their narratives. He also hopes that the moves he’s made with the podcast inspires other Black creators to break into the world of podcasting and often uses his platform to highlight other African American podcasters. Representation is needed in the podcast space. Although more Black podcasts are being created, research shows that hosts are predominately white and male. He says increasing the representation of Black podcast listeners and creators starts with “reminding and reassuring individuals that their perspectives add value to conversations.” As far as what’s on the horizon for the podcast, While Black is partnering with Apple which has one of the world’s largest platforms for podcast discovery and listenership. When asked about what he loves about being Black, Vince replied “We are a culture of people who are constantly evolving. We continue to push into areas and things that most of the world would say we have no business doing. There’s been this awakening inside of us to embody Black, to exude Black, to embrace Black, to codeswitch less, and to not be afraid to be in our own skin.” SEE ALSO: The Obamas Sign Deal With Spotify To Produce Podcasts Entrepreneur Launches Coupon Platform To Support Black-Owned Businesses [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3889769″ overlay=”true”]
