Catelynn Lowell FINALLY Tells All: Is She Really Pregnant?!

Catelynn Lowell has had some very eventful pregnancies. It's sort of the thing that happens when you get famous and then base your entire livelihood on getting pregnant at 16. But for the past couple of weeks, there has been a swirl of rumors about a new pregnancy, and although it seems unlikely, the rumors simply will not quit. Thankfully, Catelynn has released an official statement explaining everything. And you may be surprised about what she has to say … 1. So Many! Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra have had three children together — all girls. And yes, that little detail is going to be important later. 2. Carly Back when they were teenagers, they had Carly, the daughter they placed for adoption. 3. Nova Several years later, they welcomed Nova. 4. Vaeda And just earlier this year, sweet little Vaeda was born. 5. One Happy Family So they’ve got a darling little family, right? They see Carly occasionally, and they’re raising Nova and Vaeda. From what we’ve seen, it seems like they’re super pleased with life at the moment. 6. Except … They still really, really want a son though. View Slideshow

Robert Forster Dies; Veteran Actor Was 78 Years Old

Robert Forster, the beloved actor whose career enjoyed an unexpected revival after he starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown, died of brain cancer at his home in Los Angeles on Friday. He was 78 years old. The sad news was confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by Forster’s publicist. Forster’s passing came just hours after his final performance, as he played a role in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which was released on Netflix on October 11. The veteran star also made a final appearance in Last Man Standing last year, portraying the father of Tim Allen’s character. “A truly gifted actor and one of the loveliest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. RIP Robert,” wrote Last Man Standing actress Nancy Travis on Twitter Friday in response to the sad development. Forster appeared on 10 episodes of this ABC sitcom. Still, he was best known for his work on the big screen. He made his film debut opposite Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor in John Huston’s Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) and then received rave reviews as an ethically challenged cameraman in Haskell Wexler’s ultra-realistic Medium Cool (1969). Forster was a successful box office draw for over a decade — but his career than took a dip. By the early 1990s, the actor was down to supporting roles in such low-budget efforts as Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence, Body Chemistry 3: Point of Seduction and Scanner Cop II… while supplementing his income with speaking engagements. Until Tarantino entered the picture, that is. In 1997, Tarantino directed Forster to an Oscar-nominated performance in Jackie Brown. Filmmaker David Lynch later cast him as a detective in Mulholland Drive —  and Forster would go on to work with Lynch again in 2017, playing Sheriff Frank Truman in Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival. “I went 21 months without a job. I had four kids, I took any job I could get,” Forster told the Chicago Tribune in 2018, adding: “My career went like this for five years and then like that for 27. “Every time it reached a lower level I thought I could tolerate, it dropped some more, and then some more. Near the end I had no agent, no manager, no lawyer, no nothing. I was taking whatever fell through the cracks.” Forster’s other credits over the recent years have included Firewall, Me, Myself and Irene, Lucky Number Slevin and Olympus Has Fallen. Forster said that when his career was at its lowest ebb, he had what he called an “epiphany.” “It was the simple one,” he said, “when you realize, ‘You know what? You’re not dead yet, Bob. You can win it in the late innings. You’ve still got the late innings, but you can’t quit. Never quit.'” He is survived by his third wife, Evie, and children Elizabeth, Katherine, Maeghen and Robert. May Robert Forster rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Delaware Native Launches Black-Owned Restaurant Directory

C ognizant of the lack of support that many Black-owned businesses receive, truck driver Edward Dillard decided to make a concerted effort to support African American-owned restaurants during his coast to coast shifts on the road. However, when the Delaware native would travel through the outskirts of major cities, he found it hard to locate Black-owned restaurants. Determined to come up with a solution to this dilemma and give African American-owned establishments exposure, he launched a platform called Eat Black Owned ; a national directory of Black-owned restaurants. There is power that lies in the Black dollar. Black buying power is worth $1.2 trillion and that number is expected to grow to $2 trillion by the year 2020. However, the life span of a dollar within the Black community only lasts for six hours. After learning about these statistics, Dillard’s mission to support local Black-owned businesses became bigger than himself and he began laying the foundation for Eat Black Owned to empower other individuals to spend their dollars at Black restaurants. “The dollar does not circulate in the Black community long at all. I think our community needs to do more to lift ourselves up,” he told NewsOne. “I hope individuals will use this site and find a restaurant to patronize that they never knew about. We spend our money with other communities and rarely ever with our own. If there were more resources for us to locate Black-owned businesses, then I believe more people would support them.” After five months of research, he compiled a list of over 2,000 restaurants and launched the website in June. Through the site, users can locate Black-owned eateries that are near their geographic location. The site allows restaurant owners and customers to add listings and Dillard created a section for individuals to leave reviews. He specifically wanted to highlight places that were located outside of major cities. Dillard also wanted to ensure that his site was inclusive of different types of businesses. He includes mom-and-pop eateries and restaurants owned by Black celebrities. “I prefer mom-and-pop restaurants because I believe they put more TLC into their food and customer service,” he said. For Dillard, the positive feedback has been rewarding.  As far as what’s on the horizon for Eat Black Owned, Dillard hopes to turn it into an app. He also plans on transforming the platform into a hub for content related to the Black culinary experience and will feature recipes posted by users. Platforms like Dillard’s are needed. Research shows that Black-owned restaurants grew by 49 percent between the years 2007 to 2012. Tekashi69 Signs $10 Million Record Deal From Behind Bars

We’ve got to hand it to Tekashi 69. Many celebrities have been imprisoned over the years, but very few have managed to remain this relevant while serving their sentences. Of course, that relevance is likely to get Tekashi stabbed the second he walks out of protective custody, but hey — bad press is better than no press, right? Actually, whoever came up with that saying probably would have agreed to the addendum “unless that bad press is likely to get you straight-up murdered.” Anyway, as you’ve probably heard, Tekashi recently took the stand and testified against two members of his former gang, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. As their name indicates, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods are not a group that you want to piss off, but Tekashi — real name, Daniel Hernandez — likely felt that he had little choice. When Hernandez was arrested for a laundry list of crimes last year, it initially looked as though he might remain behind bars for the rest of his life. But thanks to his testimony — which led to the convictions of Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack  — Mr. 69 could be a free man as early as next month. When he first started snitching, it was widely assumed that Tekashi would enter witness protection upon his release. Now, however, it seems the rapper has no intention of disappearing. In fact, he’s reportedly planning on becoming more famous than ever. According to TMZ, Tekashi has already sold the movie rights  for his tory to fellow hip hop artist 50 Cent. And that’s not the only wheeling and dealing Hernandez did from his cell this week. Multiple outlets have now confirmed that Tekashi has signed a deal with his old record label, 10K Projects, that’s reportedly worth more $10 million. While the exact terms of the agreement are under wraps, insiders claim the 69 has promised several projects to the label and plans to get to work immediately upon his release. Obviously, the guy has a lot to celebrate these days. But he has also many reasons to be fearful. Even if he’s safe from violent retaliation, as he clearly believes, Tekashi’s career might be over as a result of his decision to turn state’s witness. After all, credibility is king in the world of hip hop, and it seems unlikely that the record-buying public will rush to embrace a known snitch.

Michigan Girl Banned From Taking School Picture Because Of Her Red Bun

Continue reading here:

Source: Screenshot: WILX News 10 / WILX News 10 Another day, another disturbing example of a young Black girl in America being discriminated against because of her hair. According to WILX News , an 8-year-old from Michigan was banned from having her annual school picture taken because her braided bun was dyed red. See, according to officials from Paragon Charter Academy in Jackson, MI, claim Marian Scott went against the school’s policy of wearing only “natural hair tones.” Yet, Marian Scott’s father is speaking out, saying his daughter felt “singled out.” “It’s upsetting,” Doug Scott said, crying to WILX News about the treatment his child endured. He added “All of this is uncalled for, they didn’t even call us.” “Marian didn’t leave the house, go on the street and get this done on her own, no – she’s 8 years old, we did this ourselves in our own home and there’s no way I felt like this would happen.” While this may be the rule, Scott pointed out that the punishment for it isn’t clear. That, and while she wasn’t allowed to take the picture, she was allowed to return to class. “If they would have reached out to us and say come get her…she’s got a hair issue, we need you to change it, that’s not allowed – I would have been fine with why this happened but they didn’t reach out to us,” said Scott. “They let her stay in school… so if she’s not a disruption to the class, then why is she a disruption to the picture?” The school claims it sent an email about the policy, but Scott says he didn’t see it, and if he had he would have told his daughter’s mother to not add the color to her hair. But he is glad that people are now seeing what is going on at this school. In the meantime, the Scotts don’t plan on taking her out of the school and have rescheduled for Marianne to get picture re-taken on November 12th.   Regardless of this rule, it’s problematic that it exists in the first place and as we know, these types of grooming policies disproportionately affect Black girls and teens. But if this makes you upset, please know that there is something you can do about it now. Right now, in 48 states it is legal to discriminate against natural hairstyles at school and in the workplace. While the state of California passed The Crown Act earlier this year, it’s not a federal law across the board, but it can be if we speak out. That, and if we sign The CROWN Act petition urging the legislature to vote on it. Our hair shouldn’t be looked at a distraction, it has nothing to do with learning and punishing Black girls for how they choose to wear their hair has to stop. Now.
