Julia Roberts is speaking out on the apparently drug overdose of her half-sister, Nancy Motes, with whom the actress had a tumultuous relationship. “It’s just heartbreak,” a tearful Roberts, 46, told the Wall Street Journal in an interview conducted March 1, just one day before this year’s Academy Awards. “It’s only been 20 days. There aren’t words to explain what any of us have been through in these last 20 days,” she said in the interview, released today. “It’s hour by hour some days, but you just keep looking ahead.” Nancy Motes died inside her Los Angeles apartment of an apparent drug overdose on February 9, the star’s family announced the following day. In the interview, Roberts did not address rumors that Motes left a suicide note criticizing Julia , and instead focused on the grief surrounding her death. “You don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone, but there are so many tragic, painful, inexplicable things in the world,” said the Academy Award winner. “But [as with] any situation of challenge and despair, we must find a way, as a family. It’s hard to formulate a sentence about it outside the weepy huddle of my family.” Professionally, Roberts will appear in the May 25 HBO adaptation of the Larry Kramer drama about the early days of the AIDS epidemic, The Normal Heart. She plays a medical pioneer with polio helping patients fight the disease. Despite having announced their split many months ago, Kris and Bruce Jenner have been spotted out often over the past couple weeks, actually holding hands at LAX and going to the doctor together just a few days ago. Alanis Morissette claims her fired housekeeper stole her dog and is refusing to give the pet back, effectively holding the pooch for a king’s ransom. The housekeeper, via the video below, tells a different story. Lindsay Lohan’s sex list may be growing every day, but it seems her bank account is shrinking by the second. First came news that she fired her sober coach shortly after finishing filming her OWN network reality show and today the Lohan staff has shrunk even further as Linds canned her personal assistant because she lacked the funds to continue paying him. Viewers of Lindsay’s series will recognize the long-suffering Matt Harrell as a frequent victim of Lohan’s irrational temper. Over the course of the show’s run, Harrell has been chewed out for everything from improperly folded clothes to not having enough spare keys made for Lindsay’s apartment. Harrell reportedly worked for Lindsay for free for a while until she eventually let him go after it became clear that sufficient funds to cover his back pay would not be forthcoming. This is the latest in a long line of financial difficulties for Lindsay. The New York Post reports that Lohan’s credit card was denied after she attempted to make a $300 purchase in Manhattan this week.
