Getting ejected from the Heat game is the least of Lil Wayne’s problems this week. His remix of Future’s “Karate Chop,” which features Weezy making a degrading reference to Emmett Till, has been pulled by Epic Records. Many were up in arms over the lyrics about Till, an African-American teen from Chicago who was beaten and shot to death in the South in 1955. “We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future’s `Karate Chop,’ which leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics,” the label said in a statement. “Out of respect for the legacy of Emmett Till and his family and the support of the Rev, Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., we are going through great efforts to [take it down].” The Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation’s Facebook page (named after Emmett’s mother) declared that Epic CEO L.A. Reid had contacted the family to apologize: “Mr. Reid stated the song was leaked out and he had not heard the lyrics.” “He is a man of integrity that values our family’s legacy and wouldn’t allow such heinous usage of Emmett Till’s name or dishonor his memory.” “We have yet to hear from Lil Wayne’s camp and he is the one that said it! It was all I could do to hold back my tears while engaged in conversation.” “Thank you Mr. Reid for now I can exhale.” The “Karate Chop” remix can still be listened to (for now) online. At the 3:14 mark in the song, Wayne says he’ll “Beat that p–sy up like Emmett Till.” Listen to it while you can, if you even want to. Future Ft. Lil Wayne – Karate Chop Remix
There are lots of viewers not tuning in to watch Nicki Minaj on American Idol, and one of those people just happens to be Lil Wayne. Weezy hasn’t watched his Young Money protege on the Fox singing competition… Continue
Did Weezy massacre his Young Money mane?? Did Lil Wayne Cut His Hair? Big Boi from Outkast recently jetted down to New Orleans to celebrate his birthday and pop bottles for the Super Bowl. Also on hand for the festivities was none other than NOLA native and YMCMB bossman Lil Wayne. Big Boi snapped a flick of the two down south hip hop heads livin’ it up in the boot, but something seems to be missing from the pic……can you tell what it is? Weezy’s dreads could be camping out somewhere behind his back, but it sure looks like they’ve been chopped and screwed in this pic. What do you think of Wayne without his mane? Instagram
Camel and Timberfake were spotted yukking it up on the set of their new video for “Suit And Tie” in Los Angeles. This was JT’s reaction after Hov told him Fonzworth Bentley just called to ask if he could hold the umbrella. We really love these shots. They’re so caption worthy. Have a look and feel free to Caption This! Lots more below: PacificCoastNews
Bow Wow Upset With Kandi Burruss Over Jermaine Dupri Snub Forever five-foot rapper turned 106 & Park host Bow Wow is yet again doing what he does when he has nothing better to do: running his mouth. The Young Money mini man was reportedly none too happy to find out that his former label mate and RHOA cast member Kandi Burruss declined to attend the upcoming 20th Anniversary event for So So Def Records. Bow Weezy felt that Kandi’s decision not to attend the event due to a prior scheduling conflict was a slap in the face to So So Def bossman Jermaine Dupri, who was largely responsible for the success of Kandi’s former group Xscape. Mr. Moss took to his Facebook with this message to put Kandi on blast: “JD likes to keep quiet but… Yo Kandi is wack for not wanting to show up for jd for “20th anniversary so so def show” put ego to the side and give the fans what they want and understand w/ out jd know no one would even know who you are. You aint Michael, this aint the Jackson 5. She act’n like she booked out like she too busy! Better yet dont come. The ones thats there are the ones who really got love for JD and the history of the label.” Bow Wow’s “loyalty” is admirable, but should he be really be trying to check Kandi when he had his own issues with JD not too long ago? Surely whatever reason Kandi has for not attending can be handled between she and Jermaine. Must have been a slow work day for Shad…
Weezy speaks on the Newton, CT school shooting Lil Wayne Says He Regrets Catching A 2007 Gun Charge Following Sandy Hook Shooting YMCMB bossman Lil Wayne rarely expresses regret for much of anything, but when recently asked to talk about the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, he revealed that it made him wish he could take back being popped for gun charges back in 2007. via MTV News Lil Wayne isn’t the type of guy who lives life with too many regrets, but the Sandy Hook tragedy has him reflective. Turns out if there was one thing Weezy could take back, it would be his 2007 gun arrest. “Before I leave, I want to say you mentioned that in 2010, I was locked up for a weapon. If there was anything I could do in my life that I could ever change, it’d be that,” the Young Money boss said when he appeared on “Jim Rome on Showtime” this week. “Sandy Hook Elementary, my heart goes out to you.” If there’s one thing Weezy seems to be genuine about, it’s his 9786 kids, so it’s we’re not surprise to hear that this is how he feels. Do you think Weezy was being sincere?
