Mother Beats And Publicly Shames Daughter With T-Shirt After Poor Grades 30-year-old Melany Joyce Alexander reportedly “whooped” her daughter at their home in Brooksville, Florida, after finding out the young girl had earned multiple F’s in her classes at West Hernando Middle School . Alexander reportedly beat her daughter with what her police affidavit described as a ‘leather belt with holes with metal divots’, leaving the middle-school student with ‘impressions in several places’, including her arms, neck, chest, back and legs. Alexander took things a step further, publicly shaming her daughter by writing a message about her poor grades to all the girl’s friends and potential dating partners on a t-shirt which she forced her to wear to school the next day. It read: I currently have all F’s in all of my classes. I am not aloud to have a boyfriend no time soon. So back off before I get another good woopin like I got last night (sic). Also I can no longer have ANY friends until ALL of my F’s are ALL brought up to C’s and up! So unless you are helping me with this goal… back off! My eating french fries & being a social butterfly is over because I know why my parents send me to school. I now know the importance of my education. I will learn. I will listen to my teachers and be respectful, at all times. I will do these things because I am failing… due to my social life. Want to be my friend. Help me by NOT! Judging from the spelling and grammar on that t-shirt, it doesn’t look like the mother would fare to well in an English class herself. When school officials saw the young lady come into school wearing the shirt and with noticeable bruises all over her arms, they immediately got her a new top to wear and called authorities. Police interviewed Alenxander at her home, and after initially being uncooperative, she finally admitted to beating her daughter with a belt and was arrested.
