‘Coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: MTV News “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” star Daniel Radcliffe will perform the same routine eight times a week on Broadway for the rest of the year and into 2012, but the actor will happily take that relative monotony instead of the exhaustive rehearsals he’s endured for the last several months. “It feels very good to have opened — it really does,” he told MTV News following the musical’s premiere Sunday. “We’ve had a long-ish preview period — I can’t say long anymore because of ‘Spider-Man’ — but it feels great to be here and know the show is set now and we don’t have to rehearse during the day and we get to chill out. Honestly, coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months.” The work has clearly paid off, as reviews for his performance have been largely positive. “Daniel Radcliffe is so adorable in his Broadway musical debut, you just want to pinch his cheeks,” wrote the New York Post. “It’s not just his youth — the ‘Harry Potter’ star is 21 — but the endearing amount of dedication and enthusiasm he pours into steering the [play].” That’s got to feel good for a guy who’s gone on record that he has no particular talent for singing and dancing . But Radcliffe put in the work, and now he’s looking forward to a bit more time to himself. Not that he’s got ambitious plans for his downtime. When MTV News asked if he’ll have a chance to enjoy New York City, he said, “I will be able to now because the day-to-day rehearsal will have stopped. SMH: A woman who acknowledged performing sex acts on a 2-year-old child while a man in the United Kingdom watched live via a web-cam has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Julie Carr, 33, of Mars Hill, Maine, was sentenced Monday, a year after confessing that she sent videos to the man. U.S. District Judge John Woodcock said he had dealt with many child pornography cases and ‘yours is the worst case I’ve ever seen.’ The Bangor Daily News said he told Carr that, ‘it is incumbent upon me to protect … the people who can’t protect themselves.’ Police in the West Midlands region of England discovered the videos, which were recorded by Nicholas Wilde, in June 2009 while investigating another child pornography case. The videos were traced to Maine, and Carr was arrested two days later. She said Wilde ‘conned’ her into doing it, according to court documents. Wilde was arrested on June 11 2009 after sending child sex abuse images to a 16-year-old girl he met in an internet chat room. The girl and her mother contacted the police and Wilde was traced and subsequently arrested by officers from the child exploitation unit at West Midlands Police. The teenager of Holmbridge Grove, Sheffield admitted 10 charges of making, possessing or distributing indecent images of children and also possessing extreme pornography. Wilde also admitted two charges of incitement to commit sexual assault of a child under 13 – offences that led to the arrest of Carr. Carr was arrested following a probe involving the American Child Exploitation Unit, the Online Protection Centre and the United States Embassy. At his sentencing, the court heard that detectives seized a computer and a memory stick from his bedroom, uncovering a collection of photographs at the most serious end of the child pornography scale involving children as young as 18-months-old. The memory stick also contained footage of a woman in Maine, who later turned out to be Carr, abusing a young child. Jailing Wilde for four years and eight months, Judge Hilary Watson said of the exchange with Carr: ‘It was entirely for your benefit, at your direction, for the sexual gratification of Nicholas Wilde.’ The judge added his youth was ‘very worrying’, saying: ‘You have your whole life ahead of you and the potential to re-offend is very great.’ Makes you wonder how this monster only got four years, doesn’t it. The Deadspin sports blog cited an unnamed “in-the-know-tipster” on Wednesday in reporting that Kanye West will “make a surprise appearance during Rihanna’s halftime show at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Sunday.” It’s possible the two will perform the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy track “All of the Lights,” which features Rihanna singing alongside ‘Ye, Elton John, Fergie, Alicia Keys and more. It would make sense since that song is tipped to be the next single from West’s album and a music video is reportedly in the works. It’s not like Yeezy hasn’t expressed his love for the game before, including just recently, when he appeared in the Robert Rodriguez-directed short film promoting Kobe Bryant’s new line of Nike shoes. A representative for West had no comment when reached by MTV News to confirm the rumor, and reps for Rihanna and the NBA had not returned calls for comment at press time. In addition to Rihanna, Lenny Kravitz has been tapped to play at the game, performing before the tip-off during player introductions. Josh Groban will sing the national anthem and Melanie Fiona will do the honors on the Canadian anthem, while the “What’s My Name?” singer will provide the entertainment during the half. On Saturday, during the All-Star Saturday Night show, Keri Hilson will sing the national anthem and Cee Lo Green will serve up some “Forget You” during the three-point shooting contest. The Sprite Slam Dunk contest will be preceded by Far East Movement, who’ll perform their new single, “Rocketeer.” Friday night’s entertainment will be provided by Cali Swag District, who will “Teach Me How to Dougie” during the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam, which, like all of the All-Star events , will be shown on TNT.
