Jake Kasdan on Bad Teacher, New Girl and the Secret to His Sexy Car Wash Scene

Ten years after working as a director and consulting producer on Freaks and Geeks , the heartwarming television series about a few misunderstood high school troublemakers (and their more wholesome peers), Jake Kasdan found his biggest box office success this summer with Bad Teacher , another project profiling a misunderstood hallway troublemaker. Starring Cameron Diaz as an English teacher more interested in smoking pot and procuring breast implants than molding the the minds of her middle school students, Bad Teacher earned over $200 million worldwide, establishing Kasdan — son of The Big Chill and Accidental Tourist filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan — as a heavyweight comedic director and rounding out a summer known for it’s R-rated, female-led comedies.

Zooey Deschanel Attempts A Cleavage Shot

I wouldn’t normally consider Zooey Deschanel one of Hollywood’s hottest young talents, she’s kind of quirky in that annoying hipster way, but she’s got a new show and she might be on the verge of some sort of breakthrough so I thought I’d give her a chance. Besides, she’s wearing kind of a sexy dress and making a half decent attempt at dropping some cleavage so why not? I think she needs to talk to Paris Hilton and find out where she can get one of those magical bras that make skinny girls busty …. For the good of the show.

The $11 Question: How The Worst Movie EVER! Scored the Worst Opening Ever

The little movie that couldn’t has become the little movie that still probably won’t but will have fun trying: Since Tuesday, when we brought you the story of The Worst Movie EVER ! and its unprecedented $11 opening weekend , a groundswell of lookie-loos from around the world have made the trailer a mini-hit on YouTube and initiated something of a cult following on Facebook. Sony Brings Flatliners Back From the Dead With Source Code Screenwriter

Because Hollywood never met a property it didn’t want to resuscitate, Sony has commissioned Source Code screenwriter Ben Ripley to pen its remake of Flatliners . The Joel Schumacher-directed 1990 film starred Julia Roberts (and her awesome hair), Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland and Billy Baldwin as medical students toying with near-death experiences to increasingly dangerous outcomes. Sorta like movie executives continuing to mine former VHS faves for redux treatment! [ Deadline ]

Is Zooey Deschanel the New Andie MacDowell?

As we discovered when comparing the careers of Shia LaBeouf and Michael J. Fox , as well as Leslie Mann and Madeline Kahn , it’s hard to be original. It’s even harder to be a breakout talent who forges an trajectory that defies categorization and precedent. In the case of Our Idiot Brother star Zooey Deschanel, her career has matched one other raven-haired thespian’s rise to prominence: That would be Andie MacDowell.

Justin Bieber’s Early Christmas Gift: A Holiday Album

‘We are going to try and raise alot of money this year for charity!’ teen pop star tweets about next project. By Terri Schwartz Justin Bieber Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Beliebers have more to look forward to this holiday season than just chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Justin Bieber announced Thursday (August 25) on Twitter that he’ll be releasing his first Christmas album later this year. “So it’s true…been in the studio doing something special for christmas. we are going to try and raise alot of money this year for charity!” the 17-year-old Canadian pop star tweeted . This will be Bieber’s second studio album, since his first release, My World, was technically an EP. Barring the release of Never Say Never — The Remixes, which featured the new single “Never Say Never,” this will be the first new music Bieber has released in more than a year. He didn’t share whether he will be collaborating with any other artists on his holiday record or when fans can expect it to hit stores. Bieber is no stranger to using his musical talents for charitable causes. In 2010, he took part in “We Are the World 25” alongside Miley Cryus, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Bieber has supported charities like Give Back Hollywood, Jumpstart and Children’s Miracle Network in the past, though he did not specify which charity he would be donating the proceeds of his Christmas album to in his tweet. The “Baby” crooner isn’t the only artist to announce a Christmas album recently. Zooey Deschanel shared the news over Twitter earlier this month that her band She & Him will be releasing their first holiday album — and third album overall — later this year. In addition, Bieber’s fellow Canadian Michael Bubl

Zooey Deschanel Blasts the L.A. Times for Calling Her a ‘Snobby Cow’

In this week’s latest installment of ” celebs correct the public record ,” actress-blogger Zooey Deschanel took to the web to excoriate L.A. Times op-ed writer Pat Morrison for slamming her in an article about Deschanel’s allegedly anti-L.A. statements at a star-studded BAFTA reception for the royal newlyweds last Saturday. Note to journalists: If you’re going to call someone a “snobby cow,” make sure you get their snobby, cow-ish comments right.

New Our Idiot Brother Trailer: Will Paul Rudd Be Your Favorite Moron?

The Sundance comedy Our Idiot Brother is pretty much perfectly cast: From the titular Paul Rudd role to the hard-edged Elizabeth Banks part to the hipster Zooey Deschanel character, everyone is just right and apparently unafraid of typecasting. In this new trailer, Rudd harries his three sisters (Banks, Deschanel, and typically prickly Emily Mortimer), and Rashida Jones rushes in to act as a saving grace.

Our Idiot Brother Trailer Introduces Us To The Big Ruddowski

After receiving some good vibes up in Sundance, the trailer for Our Idiot Brother finally lets the rest of us sea-level schomoes see what the big to-do is. Paul Rudd stars as a sweet but dim dude who shuttles between his sisters (Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer) as he tries to get his life together after selling weed to a uniformed cop. With his preference for the sticky icky and comfort-maximizing Jamz shorts, he might remind you of another affable stoner who bounces around his intellectual superiors. Check it out below!
