Fake Science Tumblr Is Doing Science Wrong (And It’s Funny!)

Filed under: Humor , Websites , Science Fake Science is a new Tumblr that proves the Insane Clown Posse were right when they rapped the wise words “I don’t wanna talk to a scientist / y’all muthaf***ers lyin’ and gettin’ me pissed.” The site presents a series of totally preposterous science posters that play on the kind of common science knowledge we picked up from our parents or learned in elementary school. For example, your science teacher told you that counting a tree’s rings tells you how old it is. Fake Science says that counting a tree’s rings tells you how many other trees it’s had sex with. It also tells you that spiders are robots. For these, and more untrustworthy science posters, check out our five favorites after the jump. I believed David Bowie when he said they were from Mars, so this sounds totally plausible to me: This one actually agrees with what you probably learned in science class. Volcanoes are made of vinegar and baking soda: Are you colorblind? I am, according to this very scientific test. It also helped me determine that I have a headache: Now you know what those tree rings really mean. The trees have been knotty (oh god, that pun was terrible, I am so sorry): Share
