Shakira has given birth to her first child. For real this time! A few weeks after Gerard Piqué pranked fans and claimed the singer had welcomed a son into the world, the couple confirmed today that Milan Piqué Mebara was born in Barcelona. He weighed in at 6 lbs, 6 oz. and mother and child are both in excellent condition. Wrote Shakira on her website: “The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification. Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.” Shakira and Piqué announced their pregnancy in September and their child’s gender a month later.
