This year’s election has been, so far, the most interesting, exciting, nerve wracking, and thrilling elections. The presidentiables have put in a tough fight and now they push on with their ongoing fight even as the campaign period was officially closed yesterday. With only a few hours to go till the elections here we have a list of How to prepare for elections 2010 . But even as everyone is preparing for the first Automated elections in the Philippines, there are still ongoing issues the Comelec (Commission on Election)  has yet answer. ABS-CBN news has given out information through their Diyes sa Mayo 10 about how the elections could go wrong. 1. Ballot form sensitivity There has been several discussions about the possibility of someone already tampering the form so that your vote won’t be included. It is reminded that nothing should tamper the ballot as this may be the reason why the PCOS machine won’t accept your vote. This could be smudges, sweat drop, or other forms of damaging the form so be very careful to check your form twice. 2. Heat Okay so maybe this is not one of the concerns of ABS-CBN but one must note that the Philippines have been undergoing very high temperatures. The PCOS machines have been tested among small groups of people but have they been tested on HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of people? Especially during a very hot season in the Philippines? Just my theory. 3. Electricity It has been no secret that there has been several blackouts in the Philippines due to Electricity shortage. In fact as I am typing here a fellow Filipino Netizen informed of a blackout currently in Dumaguete. Although the power companies have been strong on saying they will do their best to help in a successful elections, the people still are in doubt of the capacity of the electronic elections. 4. Indedible Ink According to ABS-CBN the Indedible ink actually lacks some Nitrate to make it not easily washed off. They say that there is still a possibility that it can be easily washed off. These are but a few of the possible factors for failure of elections. But I do believe if everyone will just cooperate, follow the rules, and hope for the best, then everything will turn out okay. With only a few hours to go, we from Daily World Buzz would like to remind the Filipino Netizens on how to prepare for this year 2010’s Philippine Elections. What to do Find your precint location through comelec.gov.ph or you can also go to the main voting station where they can give your proper voting precint location. It is highly advised to check online. What to Bring Wear something comfortable and cool. Your sweating can cause damage to the ballot which will lead to rejection in the PCOS machine. Bring with you your Voter’s ID and Registration Stub. (also bring a government Issued ID just in case) DO NOT BRING CAMERAs and CELLPHONES. These are not allowed within the precint. Where to go Just log on to comelec.gov.ph and you will be able to find your precint. Process The voting stations will open as early as 7am in the morning and will close by 6pm. You head on to your precint and present your Voter’s ID. Receive a ballot form. Please DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BALLOT for any unusual markings, foldings, and crumple marks. Accept the proper marker used for marking the ballot. AVOID SMUDGING. The time alloted for voting is only 8 minutes maximum. After marking proceed to the PCOS machine and properly insert your ballot form. If your form gets rejected by the machine insert again. After two trials your Ballot form Rejected so make sure no damage is done to the ballot form. Receive the Ink marking on your finger and you are through. Apple has announced that its iPad tablet computer will be on sale on May 28 in nine countries outside the United States. The new markets include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. The cheapest model with the same version in the US which costs $499 (£337) will retail at £429 in the UK. The difference in price is due to the British VA and US sales tax. In the UK, the gadget will range in price from £429 for entry-level model to £699 for the maximum capacity 64GB model that includes built-in access to third-generation (3G) mobile networks. Apple has already sold more than 1m iPads in the US since it went on sale in the US market on April 3. Starting on May 10, customers will be able to pre-order the device in the different markets.
