Yahoo Inc Will Spend Up To $85 Million On The Second Phase Of Its $100 Million Advertisement Campaign.

Yahoo Inc on second phase of advertisement campaign, as the Internet portal seeks to revive its growth and reconnect with consumers. Yahoo will focus more on its array of online websites devoted to fantasy sports and news. According to the comScore, since the $100 million spend Yahoo began in September, it has seen the number of unique visitors to its various sites decline 2.6 percent to 155.6 million in April and total page views on its properties have declined 11.4 percent. ComScore added that the Google, Microsoft Corp and Facebook all posted increases in U.S. visitors and page views during the same period. In March, Yahoo Chief Executive “Carol Bartz” told reporters the advertising campaign, which had spent between $15 million and $25 million for the first phase, had proven to be successful in many overseas markets but did not work that well in the United States. For this new push, Yahoo worked with ad agency Ogilvy & Mather on the first phase and has retained Goodby Silverstein & Partners. Yahoo corporate blog introducing the new ad campaign begins with an image of a sparse white web site with an empty box in the middle that looks remarkably like the Google home page. “You come to this place so you can leave.”, as said by A voice-over in the ad. Lady Gaga Fans Petition ‘American Idol’ To Air Unedited ‘Alejandro’ Performance

Fans demand re-airing or apology for messing with Gaga’s ‘art.’ By James Montgomery Lady Gaga performs on “American Idol” Wednesday Photo: Fox One day after “American Idol” editors aired Lady Gaga’s performance of “Alejandro” with nearly two minutes snipped out of it, neither Gaga herself, nor her legion of Little Monsters, seemed to be willing to forgive or forget. On Thursday, Gaga took to her Twitter account to address the issue, writing, “Fox POORLY + AMATEURLY edited + cut my performance/musical arrangement on Idol,” and posting a link to what she called the “real version.” That version — which blogger Perez Hilton proudly displayed on his Web site — features an extended version of “Bad Romance” in the intro, a few dance moves that “Idol” possibly deemed too hot for broadcast and extra instrumentation in the breakdown of “Alejandro.” A few hours after Gaga posted her message, Hilton responded and included a link to a fan-sponsored petition , which urged “Idol” producers to re-air the unedited version of her performance … or at least to apologize to Gaga for making the cuts. The petition — started by the “Little Monsters of the World” — states that Gaga’s performance of “Alejandro” was art, and editing it was an act on par with slashing the face of the Mona Lisa. “Gaga gives performance art to the Pop World — emphasis on the word ‘art,’ ” the petition reads. “Would you take a $250,000 painting, cut it in pieces, and put it together to better fit your wall? No. Thus, you should not take the art of this artist and do the same.” The petition goes on to echo Gaga’s complaint about the “amateurly” made cuts. “They cropped out key transitions and moments of the piece (in about four spots total), leaving only an imitation of the original creation,” it says. “They owe credit to Lady Gaga’s appearance. Thus, they owe her the right to showing the world the art piece she worked very hard on.” The organizers of the petition plan to collect 10,000 signatures from Gaga fans, which they hope will persuade “Idol” producers to re-air the full “Alejandro” performance. Or, at the very least, apologize to her. So far, more than 2,900 Little Monsters have signed on. MTV News’ e-mails to a spokesperson for 19 Entertainment — the company that produces “American Idol” — about the “Alejandro” performance were not responded to by press time. ‘Glee’ Star Matthew Morrison Hopes They Won’t Do Britney Spears Episode

‘That’s a rumor her manager started,’ the actor says. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images After the success of the Madonna-themed “Glee” episode , and before the much-buzzed-about Lady Gaga episode has even aired, people connected to the show and to Britney Spears have been musing about featuring the pop princess’ music in her own episode. And while her manager and show creator Ryan Murphy seemed onboard with the idea, one of the show’s stars, Matthew Morrison told Us Weekly that he isn’t too keen on a Spears-themed episode. “That’s a rumor her manager started,” said the actor, who plays glee-club instructor Will Schuester. “I hope our show doesn’t go along that route.” The idea originally hit the Web after Spears’ manager, Adam Leber, suggested the idea via Twitter. Murphy then admitted to EW.com that he was thinking about it. “I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her,” he said. “I’m entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.” While the idea is still in the planning stages, Murphy admits there’s a number of artists to whom he’d like to pay homage on the show, including Courtney Love, Billy Joel and Led Zeppelin. “I actually ran into Courtney Love the other day and talked to her. She’s interested. I would love to have the kids do a Courtney Love episode one day,” he told the site. “The key is the songs in the catalog have to have a certain degree of theatricality.” Would you like to see a Britney Spears-themed “Glee” episode? My Mother-in-Law, on Why She Loves the Internet

Filed under: Tech As a mother, grandmother and teacher , I am often online. I try to answer my email at least three times each week. I also have a Facebook account, which I try to get on at least once a week. It’s a good way to stay in touch with friends who I don’t see often. Also, it’s a great way to share photos with my children and family who live out of town. I tried Twitter , but cannot get into it. I don’t have the time. Each Saturday morning, I do research, usually starting off with Google . I do my lesson plans and often look up pieces of literature (poetry, authors, essays, etc.) to enhance my classes (Language Arts and Creative Writing). I also have two web pages for my classes that I update weekly, one through Google and one through Schoolnotes.com . SheSpeaks is one of my favorite blogs. The articles are always timely and I can pick and choose what I want to respond to. Also, the articles are geared toward women of all ages and are often educational in one aspect or another. In addition to all of this, I get most of my news from the internet. It’s strange to think that just a few short years ago, I had never even heard of email. Now, I cannot even imagine doing without the internet! It is, however, a time-bandit. Hours can go by in what seems like the blink of an eye. That is disturbing! — Sharman, Mike’s mother-in-law (not pictured) Share Follow all Mother’s Day Posts on Urlesque

Jessica Simpson Can Wear Whatever She Wants

It’s nice to see that Jessica Simpson has decided to embrace the fact that her new fat girl boobs are absolutely gorgeous and stuff those chubcakes into a tight dress for me to enjoy. Sure the dress looks like it’s make out of my grandmother’s living room couch, but it’s nice and tight so I don’t really give a crap. Besides, Jessica can wear her silly dresses and I can come to bed in boxer shorts with holes in them, we have an agreement. You didn’t know we were dating? That’s alright, neither does Jessica. more pictures of Jessica Simpson here

Last Night on Community: Hot Fuzz

If the pitch-perfect Goodfellas homage that Community nailed two weeks ago wasn’t enough of a reason to get you on board what has become the funniest comedy on television (take that, Modern Family !), then perhaps last night’s all-action edition will. Using a paintball contest as a loose backdrop to reference every action cliche from the last 25 years is one thing; using it to nail the played out “will they/won’t they” romance between Joel McHale’s Jeff and Gillian Jacobs’s Brita (answer: They will), while also finding time to backhand Glee across the auto-tuned face is quite another. After the jump, video evidence of the awesomeness.
