My Mother-in-Law, on Why She Loves the Internet

Filed under: Tech As a mother, grandmother and teacher , I am often online. I try to answer my email at least three times each week. I also have a Facebook account, which I try to get on at least once a week. It’s a good way to stay in touch with friends who I don’t see often. Also, it’s a great way to share photos with my children and family who live out of town. I tried Twitter , but cannot get into it. I don’t have the time. Each Saturday morning, I do research, usually starting off with Google . I do my lesson plans and often look up pieces of literature (poetry, authors, essays, etc.) to enhance my classes (Language Arts and Creative Writing). I also have two web pages for my classes that I update weekly, one through Google and one through Schoolnotes.com . SheSpeaks is one of my favorite blogs. The articles are always timely and I can pick and choose what I want to respond to. Also, the articles are geared toward women of all ages and are often educational in one aspect or another. In addition to all of this, I get most of my news from the internet. It’s strange to think that just a few short years ago, I had never even heard of email. Now, I cannot even imagine doing without the internet! It is, however, a time-bandit. Hours can go by in what seems like the blink of an eye. That is disturbing! — Sharman, Mike’s mother-in-law (not pictured) Share Follow all Mother’s Day Posts on Urlesque
