And the 16-year-old phenom has announced his plans to start shooting the latest clip off of his mega-successful My World 2.0 album. This will be his fourth video from the album. On Wednesday, when he wasn’t defending his friendship with Kim Kardashian , he was letting his fans know that he was about to get ready to film his next music video. “Getting excited. We are shooting the vid for SOMEBODY TO LOVE next week!!” he wrote on Twitter . Bieber added, “Twitter I miss you. Been working like crazy today. But enjoying the sunshine… HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!” When Bieber spoke to MTV News last month about what he wanted to have as his next single, he was pulling for “Somebody to Love.” The tune — not to be confused with the Leighton Meester, Queen or Jefferson Airplane songs of the same name — is a dance track in which he professes his love for a girl and tells her he’d do anything for her. “It’s basically about somebody to love,” he laughed. “It’s cool. It’s young. It’s nice. I think it’s like a universal record.” Bieber said that a concept for the song’s video hadn’t been pinned down yet — nor had a co-star. And with several adorable girls already starring in his videos, when Megan Fox was suggested, he said, “That would be great. By Steven Roberts N.E.R.D.’s Pharrell Williams and Shay Haley Photo: MTV News N.E.R.D. have been touring relentlessly over the past two years since the release of their last album, Seeing Sounds, playing alongside the likes of Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West. So, with the release of their fourth album Nothing on June 15, you would think they’d take a break — but when the band stopped by MTV News on Tuesday (May 4), Pharrell explained that their new work was partially inspired by their constant interactions with fans, and vice versa. “For me, it’s particularly rewarding to just go out and express this stuff live and to see the reaction. To see your wishes confirmed that someone was touched by it, that someone got hired because of what they heard on this album or somebody had a better day or someone was assisted through a grieving moment from listening to this album. All the positive aspects — that’s a good thing,” he offered. “And, of course, when there are babies made to the N.E.R.D. music — responsibly.” The guys don’t plan to rest anytime soon. They are set to join select dates on Erykah Badu’s Out My Mind, Just In Time tour and are also planning to visit various festivals throughout Europe and stage a few shows at home here in the States. Pharrell urged fans to be prepared. “Go online, go to N-E-R-D.com so that you understand the things that you need. You’ll need more than just a water bottle for our shows, at least in the festivals overseas. … Get your stretches in — the EMTs are always on the side, because people pull muscles and stuff. And not bragging at all, I’m just telling you, dude — fat, black, white, skinny, gay, straight, I don’t know how they treat you elsewhere at their shows, I don’t know how they treat you in streets, [but] I know how you feel when you’re going to leave that N.E.R.D show. Just a day after being released from hospital following a massive brain hemorrhage, the Poison frontman gave an interview to People magazine and said he’s using his second chance to focus on all the positive things in his life. That may even mean that the “Rock of Love” star will settle down with his longtime girlfriend and mother of his two daughters, Kristi Gibson. “As painful as this experience has been, I was given a second chance, right?” the 47-year-old told the magazine. “I don’t want to sit around every night worrying this is going to happen again. What I want to is make a positive bucket list and say, ‘I’m just gonna go for it.’ “There’s so much more that I want to do and experience,” Michaels continued. “[Getting married], for sure, is something that I have never done. Kristi’s such a great person. We’ll see if that happens. But yes, that may be one of the big things on my list. My first goal is to get back to [to] 100 percent. I want to continue to rock the world, and I want to continue to love my family and be a good father.” When he first entered the hospital with the hemorrhage, Michaels said just wanted to make sure he could speak to his family in case things didn’t go as well as they have. “I didn’t have my entire life flash before my eyes when it happened,” he recalled. “I was just sad. Not depressed, but sad thinking of my daughters growing up without me. It’s the weirdest thing: You feel so much love and realize in a moment, in an instant — you focus on what becomes really important. My children, Kristi, my sisters, my dad and my mom — I wanted to call all of them. “I’m a believer; it’s a combination of will and faith,” he added of his recovery from a condition many don’t survive. “It just wasn’t my time yet. I really believe that, in a weird way God intervened.” Currently, Michaels is undergoing physical therapy at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility and is expected to make a full recovery. “I do have a little short-term memory loss,” he said. “And now there’s [dissolving] blood in my lower spine [causing what’s called medical meningitis]. It feels like I cracked my tailbone. When they tried to stand me up the first time, I couldn’t get out of bed by myself. By James Montgomery Katy Perry Photo: John Shearer/WireImage There’s still no title or firm release date for Katy Perry’s new album, but on Thursday (May 6), fans got a sneak peek at just what that album might sound like. Or, more specifically, three sneak peeks. Because a trio of tracks, reportedly from Perry’s follow-up to One Of the Boys have hit the Internet, albeit in 30-second snippet form. The songs — apparently called “In Between,” “California Gurls” and “E.T.” — were first posted on iLeaks.com, then quickly spread to sites like YouTube (though, thanks to the quick-moving folks at EMI Music — the parent company of Perry’s label, Capitol Records — they’re being removed at a breakneck pace.) Each track seems to confirm what Perry has already told MTV News about the new album; mainly that it’s a “summer record” filled with bubbly, electro-tinged pop tunes that recall “roller-skating … [the] ’90s … Ace of Base … [and] Cyndi Lauper.” “E.T.” is a whooshing, electronic ballad that sees Perry singing about a lover “a different dimension”; “In Between” is a shiny, slinky love song, complete with synths, loose bass and strings; and “California Gurls” — which Perry actually tweeted about on Tuesday — is backed by a big beat and features an assist from none other than Snoop Dogg. According to radio-industry site FMQB.com , “Gurls” is the first single from the album, and is scheduled to hit radio on May 25. There’s still no official word on whether any of the tracks will actually appear on Perry’s upcoming album; a rep for Capitol had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment at press time.
