Miley Cyrus Music Video Fashion: The Inside Dish!

For her controversial “Can’t Be Tamed” music video , Miley Cyrus did not turn into a seductive, provocative, unusual peacock overnight. Far from it. A lot of work went into the transformation, as celebrity makeup artist Denika Bedrossian dishes: “Our inspiration for the video was exotic endangered birds breaking out of their cages; lots of sexy, dark, exotic feathers.” This included the use of a $25,000 corset on Miley’s frame, along with a heavy focus on her eyes. Bedrossian says she applied lashes with real feather tips to Cyrus’ peepers – because the singer’s eyes are clearly what viewers of this racy video would focus on. Can Miley Cyrus be tamed? Heck no! Can you purchase this star’s eccentric look? Oh yes, at the THG Style Store ! Bedrossian may be the expert, but she emphasizes that Miley was involved in the entire process: “We all collaborated together to create a gothic, edgy, yet feminine bird. She wanted to be a part of every detail.” Watch Cyrus talk about the video and her style choices in the video below. Behind Miley’s Style

Greta Gerwig to Arthur?

I told you Greta Gerwig was going places , and like, whoa : The 25-year-old pride of Sacramento is reportedly in talks to star opposite Russell Brand and Helen Mirren in Warner Bros.’ remake of Arthur . Gerwig would inherit Liza Minnelli’s role as the shoplifting waitress who wins the titular playboy’s wealthy, drunken heart; it would be Gerwig’s second big get since Greenberg (after… I can’t even bear to mention it ), and her first leading-lady role for an honest-to-God studio. With the minor qualification that nobody should be remaking Arthur in the first place , this is fantastic! [ Deadline ]

Facebook Totally Ruins Super Mario Bros.

Filed under: Humor , Gaming If you’re nostalgic for the Nintendo era of gaming, when we could enjoy the simple pleasures of collecting coins and stomping Goombas without unlocking achievements, accepting Farmville invites, and paying real money for in-game “property,” you’ll love HiWiller’s If Mario Was Designed in 2010 . It’s a joke, sure, but it’s not too far from the way games really work on Facebook these days. This collection of screenshots shows how Super Mario Bros. would lose all its fun if it had been created as one of today’s popular social games. Obnoxious tutorial? Check. “Informative” pop-ups everywhere? Check. Lame “achievements” that prompt you to spam your Facebook friends? Yeah, those are there too. It’s enough to make me want to delete my Facebook account and spend the rest of the day playing Super Mario Bros. Crossover . link:// If Mario Was Designed in 2010

We All Scream for Ice Cream on a Roller Coaster – Viral Marketing (Video)

Filed under: Videos , Marketing , Food It’s easy to begrudge viral marketing when something seems like a ploy meant to trick you. But when the ad is as fun as the one for Cadbury Flake 99, there are no complaints to be had. That’s because, at some amusement park in England or something, people were challenged to eat an ice cream cone going up and down and right and round on a roller coaster , all at over 40 miles per hour. And then it goes backwards ! If we lived there, we’d buy you, Cadbury Flake 99 or whatever! Share previously:// Wilbur Sargunaraj — Real Dude or Viral Product?

Betty White Talks ‘SNL’ Appearance

‘She’s incredible, expect great things,’ Andy Samberg tells MTV News of Saturday’s ‘SNL’ host. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Betty White Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — On Saturday Betty White is set to go live as a first-time host of “SNL.” And while the comedy vet said that she’s excited about the “Saturday Night Live” gig, she admitted she was already feeling nervous. “Sure, it’s going to be fun,” White said from the red carpet on Tuesday at the Time 100 gala in New York. “We’ve been there [rehearsing]. [Wednesday’s] the big day when I see the sketches — keep your fingers crossed.” “SNL” player Andy Samberg told MTV News that he and the show’s crew had gone into overdrive with possible skits for the golden girl. “She’s incredible, expect great things,” he said. “I have no hesitation in saying that she’s wonderful.” After the gala, Samberg said he would book it over to the 30 Rock studios, where cast and writers were set to begin brainstorming ideas for White. “It’s Tuesday night … so we’re going to be writing everything tonight,” he said. “I hope to [be in a sketch with her].” What of White’s desire to share the stage with that night’s musical guest, Jay-Z? Samberg didn’t rule it out: “I mean, who wouldn’t? It’s Jiggaman!” Last week, 88-year-old White spoke to reporters about her hosting stint and admitted she was a fan of the MC. “I’m thrilled to meet him. I’m thrilled to hear he’s going to be on the show because he’s the hottest thing since sliced bread, but I certainly enjoy him,” she said. “I hope we’ll get along well. Yes, [I have listened to his music] … I have no idea [if we’ll work together]! But I’m game to try anything. This is an adventure!” Do you think Betty and Jay will hit the stage together? Young Jeezy Explains Trap Or Die 2’s Malcolm X-Like Cover

‘I would never compare myself to the great Malcolm, but I will die believing in what I believe in,’ he tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Don Cannon and Jeezy Photo: MTV News Cornerstone Credentials: Young Jeezy A blizzard in the spring? You already know — the Snowman is back in town. Young Jeezy’s Trap or Die 2: By Any Means Necessary is spreading all over. The tape came out Tuesday, and the streets are definitely talking. Jeezy said his mission, like on the original, is to touch souls and tell his story. “The biggest difference between this and the classic Trap or Die, there’s a lot of people here during Trap or Die 1, ” Jeezy said. “Unfortunately, a lot of them are dead or in jail. It’s was a whole different time. Everybody was rich. It ain’t like that no more. I felt I had to feed the streets. Everybody is on their way back up, trying to get their money right. Get their situation right. We just come out the recession. I wanted to give them something to ride to. You gonna have your music for the clubs, but I wanted to give them something that touches them [in their heart].” The cover of the mixtape features Jeezy in glasses, with his finger pointed to his temple, similar to Malcolm X . “I know a lot of cats are trippin’ off the cover,” Young said. “I tell ’em like this: You had Martin Luther King, you had Malcolm X. One thing I respected about Malcolm X is that he believed in what he believed in. He died believing in it. That’s how I am. I would never compare myself to the great Malcolm, but I will die believing in what I believe in.” By Any Means Necessary is hosted by Don Cannon, who also produced on the tape. “The original idea of Trap or Die 2 was something DJ Drama was supposed to do,” Cannon explained. “As days went by, [Jeezy] felt it was something that had to be done fast, because we was on a campaign. I didn’t have anything to do with the decision of the tape being with a DJ or without a DJ. But I really decided I would be there for [Young] if he wanted to put Trap or Die 2 out.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc . Big Boi’s ‘Shutterbug’ Video Is All About ‘Capturing Moments’

‘When you look at certain photos, it takes you back,’ Outkast rapper says of his latest single. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by James “Flex” Smith Big Boi Photo: MTV News Those Outkast fellas sure do have a thing for photography. Andre 3000’s breakout solo hit “Hey Ya” featured the memorable suggestion “shake it like a Polaroid picture.” Now, Andre’s partner-in-rhyme, Big Boi, is busting out with his latest single, “Shutterbug,” a reference to — what else? — snapping pics. “It’s basically a cut that’s all about capturing the moment, whether it be your kid’s first steps or you got a Polaroid and you with your lady somewhere,” Big Boi explained to MTV News from the Atlanta set of the song’s video. “It’s about capturing the moment and getting them good times. When you look at certain photos, it takes you back to the moment, and that’s what it’s about. It’s a funky, get-down, slap-your-sister-in-the-mouth jam.” The track, produced by Scott Storch, is the first single from Big Boi’s revamped Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. “Now party people in the club, it’s time to cut a rug/ And throw your drinks in the sky just for the shutterbugs,” he raps on the hook. Big’s long-delayed project has been in the works for three years now and has seen its release date pushed back several times. Originally slated to be released on Jive Records, Big Boi is now set to drop Sir Lucious Left Foot through Def Jam Records on July 6. Last month, Big Boi revealed that Andre 3000 would appear on three tracks on his album. “The sound of the album is basically what you been getting from Outkast,” Big told MTV News of the collection. “Raw lyricism and the funkiest grooves you can lay your ears on.” Are you looking forward to Big Boi’s “Shutterbug” video?
