Montia Sabbag  claims in a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, her 2017 encounter with Hart in a Vegas hotel room was all planned by Hart and  JT Jackson  — his friend who later  was arrested  for extortion. She says Hart was motivated by publicity … the need to get more, and that’s why he and JT allegedly hid the camera. Wiley Calls Drake a “Culture Vulture” Over OVO Record Deals

Source: Joseph Okpako / Getty Grime pioneer MC Wiley has taken to Twitter to call out Drake for “sh*t deals” when it comes to artists signed to OVO, again. On Wednesday (Sept 11), the British rapper, whose rivalry with Drake has been ongoing ever since he called the OVO cappo a “culture vulture” and branded them “pagans.” While it’s relatively unclear as to what triggered the one-sided bombardment, it seems Wiley has been increasingly irritated with OVO’s “sh*t record deals,” specifically in relation to the clearance of vocals on a song he did alongside dancehall artist and OVO-signed artist  Popcaan  as well as  Nicki Minaj . “I’m being held back cos @Drake obviously ain’t clearing @PopcaanMusic and @NICKIMINAJ is going to start her family… it’s a dead-end,” Wiley wrote [then deleted] on Twitter. Wiley also criticized Drake for showing up at the concerts of numerous UK rappers, including J Hus and Dave, as well as inviting them to join him on his own tour. “@Drake suck ya mum don’t come back to England,” Wiley wrote, before claiming that OVO will “give you sh*t record deals and you’re only there to help Drake with songs to keep him up and you down.” Drake, who has previously called Wiley “goofy”, responded to his criticism earlier this year, saying: “I see a lot and I’ll never understand how supporting somebody’s song or even going a step further and giving somebody a song or linking up… how that’s not viewed as something admirable?” He continued, “But I guess people have their own outlook on [that].” Despite the criticism from Wiley, Drake and his OVO camp are slated to release an album inspired by the Netflix reboot of Top Boy , a British based crime drama that hones in on East London’s tumultuous relationship with drugs and street gangs. Some fans speculate that Drake’s announcement of his inspiration from the U.K. based drama is what fueled Wiley’s tangent. Since his Twitter rant, Wiley has revealed his reason for taking shots at Drake. During an interview with   1Xtra Breakfast Show With Dotty  on Thursday, Wiley states that it’s Drake’s selfishness in business that has led to his disdain with Toronto rapper. “I didn’t need Drake to let me know that  Top Boy is sick,” Wiley said. “They didn’t come to us” when asked why he and other grime pioneers didn’t step in to revive the series themselves. Can’t you see what people do out here? The truth is he’s just a pagan. He knows it. And if I say it, he can’t say nothing to me because it’s the truth . . . He’s not embracing the scene, he’s doing it for himself.” Listen to the interview in full here .

‘Leaving Neverland’ Directer Rips Into Dave Chappelle For Sexual Assault Jokes: ‘I Felt Physically Sick’

Source: George Pimentel / Getty The documentary Leaving Neverland just snagged an Emmy award and the director for the movie had some words for Dave Chappelle in light of the win. Dan Reed called Chappelle’s jokes about Michael Jackson ‘s rape accusers “revolting” and he said they made him “physically sick,” according to The Independent . Reed’s comments came after Dave Chappelle’s Netflix comedy special Stick & Stones went hard on Jackson’s rape accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck . Dave flat out said that he doesn’t believe the alleged victims and even referred to himself as a “victim blamer.” He said if someone told him Jackson was molesting kids, he would respond “Well, what were those kids wearing at the time?” Chappelle also said that even if Michael did commit the acts, “This kid got his di** sucked by the king of pop. All we get is awkward Thanksgivings for the rest of our lives. You know how good it must have felt to go to school the next day after that sh**?” He continued, “I know it seems harsh, but somebody’s gotta teach these kids. No such thing as a free trip to Hawaii. He’s going to want to look at your butthole or something.” Director Dan Reed responded to Chappelle’s routine after Leaving Neverland , which documents the accounts of the alleged victims, won a Creative Arts Emmy on Saturday for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. “Chappelle is riding on a wave of being contrarian, being controversial, and this, to me, was revolting,” he said. “I felt physically sick listening to what he was saying.” He continued, “You can make comedy out of so many other things. Why not do something brave instead of crapping on some victim of child rape?” Safechuck and Robson also responded to Chappelle’s comedy special not too long after it premiered. “I’m heartbroken for all those children who look to see how they will be received when they finally find the courage to speak out about their sexual abuse,” said Safechuck. “I just want to reach out to other survivors and let them know that we can’t let this type of behavior silence us. Together we are strong.” Robson added, “He can say whatever he wants. It reveals him, not us.” Jackson was under investigation twice for accusations that he molested children. He didn’t face charges in 1994, however, he went to trial in 2005 and was acquitted of all counts. Robson’s lawyer commented after Chappelle’s comedy special, saying “Although Mr. Chappelle is entitled to his opinions, however misinformed they may be, it’s unfortunate that he has chosen to use his platform to shame sexual abuse victims, and spread his ignorance of sexual abuse and the way it is perpetrated upon children, in an attempt to resurrect his career.”

Condoleezza Rice Wants You To Stop Calling People Racist — Even If They Are

View post:

C ondoleezza Rice , who once shopped for Ferragamo shoes while people who looked like her died in Hurricane Katrina, thinks it hurts to call people racist. This appears to be her solution to healing the racial strife in the country. READ MORE: Van Jones Slammed For Tap Dancing At CPAC The former Secretary of State from 2005 until 2009 in the administration of President George W. Bush, told CBS that the White House “needs language that recognizes how raw race is as a factor in America.” She also added, “But I think we could all be better in the way that we deal with this very raw nerve which is race. I think it’s time to stop labeling each other and using explosive terms like ‘she’s a racist, he’s a racist,’ that stops the conversation. When you say that, that’s meant to stop the conversation and we need to have the conversation.” Watch below around the 6:00 minute mark. Not calling out racism is insane. Furthermore, Trump’s racism is clear and dangerous: housing discrimination lawsuits in the 1970s, the racist birther movement against Obama, the Muslim travel ban ( a federal judge said it was racist ), the Exonerated Five (Trump called for the execution of five Black teenagers with  a full page ad  in theNew York Times in 1989), saying a judge of Mexican heritage could not do his job because he is Mexican and constantly attacking Black public figures ( Jay Z ,  Maxine Waters ,  Jemele Hill ,  Colin Kaepernick ,  etc.), but ignoring people like  Eminem … just to name a few. Even  Michael Cohen ‘s testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform in March, he said, “He is a racist. The country has seen Mr. Trump court white supremacists and bigots. You have heard him call poorer countries ‘shitholes.’ In private, he is even worse. He once asked me if I could name a country run by a Black person that wasn’t a ‘shithole.’ This was when  Barack Obama  was President of the United States.” He continued, “While we were once driving through a struggling neighborhood in Chicago, he commented that only Black people could live that way. And, he told me that Black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid.” In addition, 45 rolled back Obama-era prison reform policies. For example, the Justice Department will use private prisons to house federal inmates, which reverses an Obama-era policy. In addition, as The Washington Post reported, the Trump administration has “Overturned the sweeping criminal charging policy of former attorney general Eric H. Holder Jr. and directed his federal prosecutors to charge defendants with the most serious, provable crimes carrying the most severe penalties reports.” President  Barack Obama made more criminal justice reforms than any president in U.S. Trump also ended the  21st Century Task Force on Policing , commissioned by the Obama administration to address tensions between police and the communities they serve. Sessions and Trump rolled this back under their “law and order” mandate. Trump is a racist who is creating racist policies and is surrounded by racists. Maybe Condi just wants to make America great again. SEE ALSO: Oprah Winfrey And Sterling K. Coon Hunting: MAGA Mascot Candace Owens Gets Fried By T.I. At REVOLT Summit

Read the original:

Source: Moses Robinson / Getty Candace Owens , one of the top shoe-shuffling boot shiners for the conservatives, found herself having to defend her beloved MAGA malarkey over the weekend at the REVOLT Summit. In a politics panel that featured a variety of perspectives, T.I. and Owens got into a heated disagreement of what makes America so great as it relates to anyone who doesn’t embrace President Donald Trump or his policies. The “Trap the Vote: Hip Hop & Politics” panel featured activist and co-president of the 2019 Women’s March Tamika Mallory, the aforementioned T.I. and Killer Mike, activist and former spokesperson for the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign Katrina Pierson, the aforementioned Owens, and Dream Defenders’ Steven Pargett. Veteran journalist Jeff Johnson oversaw the conversation as the moderator for the explosive and intense debate. A moment from the discussion that has since gone viral was the heated exchanged between T.I. and Owens, with Tip asking point-blank a question that has become something of a refrain. “When you say ‘Make America Great Again,’ which period are you talking about?” T.I. stated. “The period when women couldn’t vote? The period when we were hanging from trees? The crack era? Which period in America are you trying to make America like again?” The discussion sparked a chorus of boos from the crowd and the panelists began shouting over each other. Owens attempted to state her position that Black voters are pawns of the Democratic Party and that race isn’t a factor in the upcoming elections. To Owens credit, she didn’t back down in the face of dissent and she ended up having an unlikely ally onstage in Killer Mike, but only in the sense that Black America might be focused on the wrong things in this current political climate. It is impossible to capture the nuances of the discussion in full but to get right to the meat of the matter, view the full “Trap the Vote: Hip Hop & Politics” discussion below. Hop to the 37:00-minute mark to see T.I. roast Owens and continue watching to hear Killer Mike’s surprising counter at the 43:00-minute mark. — Photo: Getty

MODEL MONDAY: Lana Ogilvie Went From The First Black Covergirl To Skincare CEO

Everyone is delighted and (sadly) a little shocked that a giant corporation has decided to officially embrace someone who doesn’t fit the typical mold. But after all the meetings and memos that precede the press releases, the astonishment of the media is rarely shared by the model herself. “COVER GIRL was not a surprise for me,” said Ogilvie. “When COVERGIRL wanted to book me, my agent at the time, Michael Flutie from Company Management had the idea which he proposed to them, to put me under contract. To make it a bigger thing for not just me, but also for COVER GIRL and the industry in general.” View this post on Instagram Last Weekend for the beach #fbf with @si_swimsuit #siswimsuitissue #bikinibabe #swimsuitmodel A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Aug 30, 2019 at 12:05pm PDT Flutie’s suggestion came at the right time for an industry ready to inch forward towards a larger definition of what it meant to be beautiful. “They liked the idea obviously. And it really started that change within the beauty industry of signing different ethnicities to multiple year contacts, and forcing these huge companies to realize the buying power of ethnic consumers.” The moment and the subsequent media firestorm following the announcement were strong professional achievements for Ogilvie but they were still the result of someone else’s choices. “As a model, there is virtually nothing I can do to book or not book a job,” she explained. There were no apps or digital retouching, so skin had to look good in real life.” After spending years backstage in the tragic nineties she’s learned a few things on her own before the chemistry lessons. “In the 90s, before the millecelair water and makeup wipes, a lot of models swore by using baby oil to remove eye makeup. In the 90s models were too skinny and a really unhealthy body image was held in high regard. That was a low point, I think ,for beauty standards that the fashion industry imposed on women.” View this post on Instagram Getting ready for Canada Day @esteelaudercanada Shades of Canada #diversityiscanadian #lanaogilvie A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Jun 27, 2019 at 11:28am PDT She has hopes that stronger changes will come where thee “Just not have any adjective in front of the word woman. “I would love to see beauty and fashion get to the point of thinking,’ We are going to book a beautiful woman for this job’, and not ‘We are going to book a beautiful Asian woman, or Black woman, or older woman’, etc.’ I’d love to see it just be a ‘woman’ – without the thought of anything else.” Unless it’s that woman’s glowing skin. Legendary Black Beauty Brand ‘Fashion Fair’ Is For Sale And We’re Pondering Who Is Going To Buy

View post:

Source: Westend61 / Getty The Fashion Fair Beauty Brand is historic and influential in the Black beauty world. Founded in 1969 by Eunice W. Johnson, the creator of the Ebony Fashion Fair Show, the beauty brand traveled internationally with Black models who were modeling high end designs. Johnson founded the company when she noticed models in the show were mixing their own foundations to create the right blend to match their skin tone. Now in a time when almost every brand is offering multiple shades, pushed heavily by Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line, Fashion Fair is going up for sale. Hilco Streambank has been retained by Miriam R. Stein to run the sale of the brand. Gabre Fried, CEO of Hilco Streambank stated, “Fashion Fair was developed at a time when the leading beauty brands did not make products which met the needs of African American women. Mrs. Johnson, ever the entrepreneur, developed and cultivated the Fashion Fair brand to a highly devoted audience.” A visionary indeed. The issues with models having foundation to match their skin tone was an issue up until recently; illustrating the impact of Johnson’s beauty creation. Fried shared, “Eventually, the brand expanded its product lines to address the needs of many other women of color, vaulting the brand to the global stage.” At the height of its success, the brand was generating over $56 million in wholesale sales, according to their press release. Personally, I would love to see this brand remain Black owned, especially with it’s iconic history. Could Rihanna potentially scoop up this beauty brand and add to her arsenal? It’s founded on the very principles she strives to uphold by offering women the right to have their own foundation shade. Will Beautypreneur extraodinairé Richelieu Dennis add this brand to his growing portfolio? After all, he did recently purchase Madam C.J. Walker’s mansion in upstate New York to turn into an incubator for Black women. Will the brand be bought by a big company and absorbed into their portfolio of brands? We’ll find out soon enough. Offers to buy the brand are due by October 24, 2019 and an auction will be held on October 28, 2019. Are you balling and interested in buying Fashion Fair? You can find more information here .
