The Saturday Night Live cast member is going to headline her very own stand-up comedy special for Netflix, which is expected to drop sometime in 2020. The currently-untitled project will be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment. Jones has been an SNL staple since 2014, being nominated twice for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards. She’s also nominated this year for co-writing the lyrics to “Upper East Side,” a song featured in the show’s 44th season. Check out Leslie’s big announcement below!

According to NBC News , the Democratic presidential candidate visited a town hall on Thursday with the Asian and Latino Coalition in Des Moines, Iowa. When the conversation came to the discrimination faced by low-income students, Joe had this to say: “We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as White kids.” Then he paused, and clarified with the quickness : “Wealthy kids, Black kids and Asian kids. No, I really mean it, but think how we think about it.” Mhm. *Taps mic for Joe in the back* Not all Black people or people of color are poor! Source: Towfiqu Photography / Getty Man Commits Murder/Suicide Over Medical Bills He Couldn’t Pay An elderly Washington State man called 911 on Wednesday to let them know that he planned to kill himself shortly after he murdered his wife. The 77-year old reportedly told the dispatcher: “I am going to shoot myself. We will be in the front bedroom.” 15 minutes later, deputies showed up at the house, along with crisis negotiators who tried to contact the man via phone and a bullhorn “for almost an hour.” The New York Daily News reports: Deputies used a robot mounted camera to enter the house where they discovered the man lying next to his wife, age 76. Both were dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives found several notes citing “severe ongoing medical problems with the wife” and “expressing concerns that the couple did not have sufficient resources to pay for medical care.” Police say that multiple firearms were found in the home, along with two dogs who they turned over to the local humane society. Very sad situation.
