According to The Hollywood Reporter ,  two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali was introduced at Comic-Con as the lead in the action reboot Saturday night. View this post on Instagram Just announced in Hall H at #SDCC, Marvel Studios’ BLADE with Mahershala Ali. A post shared by Marvel Entertainment (@marvel) on Jul 20, 2019 at 6:43pm PDT Ali made an appearance at the end of the panel to reveal the news that he will be taking the sword from Wesley Snipes, who previously played the Marvel Comics character in three films from 1998 to 2004 and made the film a cult-classic. Ali has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before: as the villainous Cornell Stokes, a.k.a. Cottonmouth, on Netflix’s “Luke Cage” and did a helluva job on HBO’s “True Detective”, so it’s only right that he keeps this hot streak going by reviving a classic and doin it justice.

The Danity Kane singer discussed who she wanted to father her seed: “I would like to do a show about inseminating me with some brilliant man’s sperm so I can have a child. Dream donor, Barack Obama. Because he’s brilliant, classy, kind, compassionate, witty, gorgeous. Everything that a great woman deserves, and that’s why he’s got a great woman.” Former President Obama has been married to OUR first lady Michelle Obama since 1992 and they share two daughters. O’Day hasn’t really dated Barack-caliber men in the past. She’s been linked to the likes of Pauly D and Donal Trump, Jr. So a former President seems out of her league. But we guess you can’t knock a girl for trying?

Black Man Freed After Serving 28 Years For Crime He Didn’t Commit Walks Out Smiling, “I Can’t Hold No Grudge” [Video]

Source: Will Crocker / Getty Wrongfully Convicted Corey Atchison Freed From Prison Corey Atchison, 48, was released Tuesday by Tulsa County District Judge Sharon Holmes, after serving 28 years for a crime he didn’t commit, according to ABC News . Atchison was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 1991 for the fatal shooting of James Lane in Tulsa in 1990 during what police said was a gang-related attempted robbery. It’s believed that Atchison was coerced into “confessing” he did the crime. The finding of “actual innocence” by Holmes makes Atchison eligible for up to $175,000 in compensation for a wrongful conviction under Oklahoma state law. After walking free from the courthouse this week, Atchison says he’s not holding any grudges towards the people who landed him in prison for almost three decades. Hit play.

Yesterday it struck Jada Pinkett Smith that there is a disparity in Sweden’s treatment of a white rapper like G-Eazy and a Black rapper like Rocky who were both charged with assault… Hold it … G-Eazy got to strike a deal a day and half after possession of drugs and assault charges??? SMDH: Nike Apologizes To Black Family Accused Of Stealing $12 Basketball At Santa Monica Store

Black folks still can’t just walk around a clothing store without being followed or accused of stealing. Santa Monica couple Joel Stallworth and TaMiya Dickerson experienced just that on Friday after a Nike store manager told police that they stole a $12 Nike swoosh mini basketball, which they in fact purchased. According to reports , Stallworth and Dickerson were leaving the Los Angeles store when the manager, a White woman, followed them outside and accused them of stealing. They reassured her that the ball was purchased, but in true White lady fashion, the manager flagged down the police. Once the police made their way over, the couple pulled out their recent to prove that they bought the basketball. The manager, and officers, were shook when they realized the Dickerson and Stallworth were telling the truth. NIKE issued a statement to the family after the incident, saying: “We are taking the recent situation at our Santa Monica store very seriously, and we are currently investigating the facts. We will continue to work with our teams to ensure we deliver on our expectations for consumer experiences.” However, the couple is still quite pissed about the incident. Stallworth told KTLA : “She had zero evidence that I stole anything. She couldn’t have evidence because I bought it. She discriminated against me. She planted an evil seed in the officer, so as soon as the officer came up to me, he said, ‘Sir, give me the stolen ball.’” Once the incident was resolved, the couple returned the basketball to the store and got a full refund. Sucks it had to come to that in 2019 smh.

That is now… I don’t wanna be on ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ no longer.” He continued, insinuating that he would no longer be friends with some of the folks he respected on the show for stirring the pot. “I started off the series of ‘Growing Up Hip Hop… I have great friends… had great friends in  Datari Turner, Tara Long,  even one of the producers  Jennifer Gardner, Kim Osorio…  they used to be my good friends. And I explained to them, ‘Yo I’m doing great. I got millions of dollars. I don’t wanna go on the show with my children and y’all perpetuate beef…. made up beef. Early on in the season, they pitted Angie  and started some beef. I immediately checked them and said we’ll stop doing the show. That’s not what my family’s about. I don’t wanna be beefing. Source: Nick Laham / Getty Kevin Garnett Odered To Pay $100,000 A Month In Spousal & Child Support According to The Blast , Kevin Garnett’s ex-wife is about to be paid like an NBA superstar. The former NBA baller was ordered to pay his ex-wife Brandi Garnett $100,000 a month to cover both child and spousal support. The order is only in effect until they work out a permanent deal. Brandi was reportedly seeking 46,000 a month in child support, estimating that she will have the kids 95% of the time. She was also asking for another $146,000 in spousal support and then another $300,000 to cover her legal fees. However, in the new ruling, Brandi got the $300,000 she was asking for and an additional $225,000. Brandi filed for divorce earlier this year. She is seeking physical custody of the former couple’s two kids.
