Source: YouTube / Youtube Beyoncé will be featured prominently in the upcoming Disney reboot of The Lion King as the voice of Nala, and she’s also dropping an album that will accompany the official film soundtrack. Queen Bey released the visuals for The Lion King: The Gift ‘ s album’s first single “Spirit” and it’s definitely epic. The video was filmed at the Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, and styled by celebrity stylist Zerina Akers. In the clip, Bey flips outfits several times and her daughter, Blue Ivy, makes an adorable cameo in a sweeping shot. The single was released last week to plenty of fanfare on Twitter, and one can imagine that same energy will be present as the video makes the rounds. Check out “Spirit” below. — Photo: YouTube

According to WSBTV, a technical error in the system has been duplicating old charges, putting charges on your record that you have already resolved. Coweta County officials have stated around 2,000 records were incorrectly sent to the state and they’re working to try to get this issue fixed. After several years of evading arrest and breakouts from prison, the Sinaloa drug cartel leader has been sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years. The news comes from CNN who reports that Chapo, real name Joaquín Guzmán Loera, told the court, “there was no justice here.” The Court also ordered the drug lord to pay $12.6 Billion in forfeiture. The amount he’ll pay in restitution has yet to be established. The probe was centered around Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing store in South L.A., as a possible hub for gang activity … this according to The New York Times. It’s a stunning development, because the LAPD was both investigating Nipsey and embracing him at the same time. He was set to meet the LAPD Police Chief the day after he was murdered, to discuss gang violence. What’s more … a few years before his death, the City of Los Angeles was trying to pressure Hussle’s landlords to evict Nipsey from Marathon Clothing … this according to The NYT. As it turned out, Nipsey bought the building with some investors. Although the City can no longer prosecute Nipsey, the City continues to investigate Nipsey’s business partners.

Although Priscilla Rainey was denied seizure of Game’s royalties this past April, it appears now she will have access to those monies until the judgment is fully settled. The Blast reports : A judge has ordered that rapper The Game won’t see a dime of his music royalties until a $7 million judgment is paid off. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Los Angeles judge granted a motion brought by Priscilla Rainey, which will allow her to collect any money that comes in for The Game from his record label or royalties paid to him. In essence, all money that Game will be paid from Sound Exchange and the Entertainment One label will be seized until the debt is settled. — Photo: Getty
