W ill Smith and Nas are on a mission to teach youngsters the importance of money management. According to The Atlanta Voice , the actor and rapper invested in an app designed to educate teenagers about the facets of financial literacy. . @Nas & Will Smith invest in mobile app Step to help teens gain financial literacy | #TheAtlantaVoice https://t.co/YUqo2ycQD8 — The Atlanta Voice (@theatlantavoice) June 13, 2019 The app—which is named Step—was created by entrepreneur CJ MacDonald . It’s a no-fee banking platform that will allow teenagers to manage their accounts and exchange money with their family and friends. Parents have the ability to monitor their child’s spending through the app. The creators of the app wanted to give teens hands-on experience with managing their funds. As technology advances and shapes the way that consumers are spending money, those involved with bringing the app to fruition wanted to ensure that the younger generation is equipped with knowledge about making smart money decisions in a digital age. “Schools don’t teach kids about money,” MacDonald told Tech Crunch in an interview. “We want to be their first bank accounts with spending cards, but we also want to teach financial literacy and responsibility. Banks don’t tailor to this, and we want to be a solution teaching the next generation of adults to be more responsible with money in the cashless era. It was easy with cash to go to the mall but now everyone is using their phone for Uber and more.” Aside from the support of Smith and Nas, the company has been backed by other angel investors and a group of venture capital firms that include Sesame Ventures, Crosslink Capital and the Collaborative Fund. Those investments have garnered the company $22.5 million in funding. Several people are using their platform to spread awareness about the importance of financial literacy among the youth. In March, rapper 21 Savage led a workshop at a Georgia middle school about making informed and effective decisions when it comes to finances. He also joined forces with the nonprofit organizations Juma and Get Schooled for a collaborative effort to provide 150 students in Atlanta with job opportunities and financial literacy workshops. Jay Z’s Roc Nation Legal Team Supporting Phoenix Family Terrorized & Threatened By Police Over Barbie Doll

Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty Jay Z’s Legal Team Offers Representation To Black Phoenix Family After a Phoneix family’s shocking encounter with police went viral, they’re getting support from high places. As previously reported Dravon Ames and his fiancé Iesha Harper were driving with their daughters, ages 1 and 4, before they were terrorized by police . Officers approached the family after the 4-year-old slipped a Barbie into her backpack unbeknownst to the parents. Police overreacted to the alleged theft and pulled out their guns threatening to kill Iesha who’s currently pregnant, in front of her children. An officer also told Dravon  “I’m going to put a cap in your a**, I’m gonna shoot you in your (expletive) face” before pulling him out of the car, kicking him in the right leg, and punching him in the back. BREAKING: New video shows a deranged cop threatening to shoot a Black mother dead because her 4-year-old toddler “stole” a 99 cent Barbie from a dollar store. UNBELIEVABLE! The couple says the officers committed battery, unlawful imprisonment, false arrest and infliction of emotional distress in addition to violating their civil rights. AZ Central reports that Team ROC is not only offering to provide legal support, Team ROC’s calling for the termination of the police officers and “ensuring the well-being of the children,” according to Didier Morais, a PR spokesperson for the organization. Team ROC has secured high-profile attorney Alex Spiro to join the family’s legal team and they’re planning to pursue a child neglect charge against one of the officers. “There is no place for that behavior in our world – let alone our justice system – and we are calling for the immediate termination of the police officers in question,” said Roc Nation Managing Director of Philanthropy Dania Diaz. “We are committed to supporting the family to ensure that justice is served.” In case you forgot, Team ROC is known for getting results. The legal team stepped in to stop the deportation of 21 Savage. Kudos to Roc Nation for helping this family get the justice they deserve.

Like always, Adrian Wojnarowski is the one who shared details of the deal. The Pelicans have agreed to a deal to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks – including the No. 4 overall in 2019 Draft, league sources tell ESPN. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 15, 2019 Monster haul for David Griffin and the Pelicans. But the Pelicans played hard-to-get with their marquee player, letting the world know they wouldn’t be rushed to move Davis–this was until the Pelicans won the NBA Draft Lottery. After acquiring assumed no. 1 pick Zion Williamson, New Orleans’ new general manager David Griffin began to open the doors to potential suitors.
