Brown / Getty Jerrod Carmichael Tells Mom He’s Be Romantic With Men In ‘Home Videos’ Jerrod Carmichael in partnership with HBO released a new special called Home Videos where he has intimate conversations with his family about a variety of topics including the Black experience in America, politics, and R. Kelly. One moment that stood out is a part of the conversation where Jerrod asked his mother Cynthia to recount the time she found out her husband was cheating on her. During the conversation, Jerrod asked his mom if she’s ever been attracted to women before telling her this according to TVLive : “I’ve hooked up with dudes before,” Carmichael revealed, after Cynthia said she’d never had those feelings for a woman. Her response? “Well, OK. That’s your option. I like men.” The conversation ended shortly after that exchange, and there was no further discussion of how Carmichael labels his sexuality. In another part of the special Jerrod poses to his family the age-old question about bringing a white girl home to meet them. You can only guess how that went. In an op-ed for the New York Times , Montaño says she lost money to feed her family because of Nike’s shady maternity practices. When Montanño approached her sponsor to announce her pregnancy, they told her that they would just pause her contract. Alysia famously ran a national championship at eight months pregnant to prove that pregnant women could compete. Now, she’s speaking out so that no other female athlete has to suffer like she did. The Love & Hip Hop: New York castmates were barred from performing within 60 miles of the Wintrust Arena in Chicago for a period of time but they nixed that part of the agreement. TMZ reports : The Circle Foundation — which mentors Chicago-area youths — is suing the rappers, saying they signed to perform at a fundraising concert back on April 21, 2018, at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago. According to docs, obtained by TMZ, the Foundation was forced to cancel the show after the rappers breached their contracts. The Foundation claims their contracts specifically stated Remy and Safaree could NOT perform within 60 miles of the arena for 30 days before the event. It’s called a “performance exclusivity” clause, and it’s a common practice promoters use to make sure their concerts remain in hot demand. In the suit, the Foundation says the rappers agreed and signed the deal … with Remy getting a $35k deposit payment and Safaree getting $7,250. The problem, according to the docs, is Remy performed on April 8 at the Black Women’s Expo in Chicago — and Safaree played the Rockin’ Horse Saloon & Grill on April 14 in a Chicago suburb. The Circle Foundation is suing for the money it paid out plus damages. Remy Ma’s attorney has responded and promises to look into the matter. Reps for Safaree have yet to comment. — Photo: WENN

The man many call “The Unicorn” allegedly caught a fade courtesy of some Russians while he was back home in Latvia. Eyewitnesses tell TMZ Sports … the Euro NBA player was in his hometown of Liepaja over the weekend, where we’re told he was celebrating some occasion through a number of clubs and pubs in the area. Our sources say that a handful of Russians confronted Kristaps, supposedly upset with the fact that he’d switched teams down here in the States … and an all-out tussle broke out. It would appear to have been pretty violent, ’cause Kristaps was bleeding from his head. This video appears to capture the aftermath of the fight … which almost wasn’t over if Kristaps would have had his way. You can see him — again, bleeding and with a torn shirt — being held back by a woman at first, who he shoves aside. How is Porzingis even getting touched up like this in his hometown? N ew York City rush hour traffic was literally brought to a halt Monday morning ahead of administrative trial for the police officer who killed Eric Garner nearly five years ago. NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo , who has not only avoided being arrested for the flagrant killing caught on video but also managed to secure a lucrative salary boost in the interim, could be fired if found guilty. In anticipation of the ruling, protesters took to a major highway in Manhattan to bring attention to something they say should have been done immediately following the death caused by the use of a chokehold that the NYPD bans its officers from using. However, there were not any immediate reports of angry drivers, which could be an indication that even the typically temperamental motorists in the city’s five boroughs were sympathetic to what under normal circumstances would have been considered murder. However, according to the New York Times, even though the trial was open to the public, its verdict may not be made public immediately. The decision “will be sent to the police commissioner, James P. O’Neill, who has the authority to uphold, modify or even vacate the ruling,” the Times reported . That questionable decision could provide a hint at what to expect from Pantaleo’s trial. Garner was approached by undercover NYPD officers on July 17, 2014, for the alleged offense of selling untaxed loose cigarettes. When officers failed at handcuffing him for the nonviolent misdemeanor, Pantaleo was caught on video with his arms wrapped tightly around Garner’s neck from behind. The chokehold ultimately killed Garner. The entire deadly episode was captured on cellphone video and filmed by a bystander. Garner’s final words “I can’t breathe” — became a rallying call for social justice advocates who saw his death as a murder. The New York Police Department (NYPD) only began disciplinary proceedings against Officer Daniel Pantaleo in June of 2018. A grand jury decided not to indict Pantaleo and the Department of Justice declined to bring a civil rights case against him. Source: Derrick Davis / Derrick Davis Fresh off the heels of Mother’s Day weekend, a new podcast, “Talk To Your Mom” has launched to encourage adult children to have more transparent conversations with their mothers. “Talk To Your Mom,” a home for conversation where generational knowledge is wealth, is the brainchild of writer, host and producer Keyaira Kelly , and her mom, Tarawoner Kelly , lifecoach and founder of TYL Foundation. Each episode, Keyaira and Tarawoner tackle raw and candid discussions about traditionally taboo mom/daughter topics including sex, love, self-worth, spirituality, healing and trauma. Each episode is driven by a question, with an invitation for listeners to go out and challenge themselves to dive deep with their mamas too. “In the last couple of years, I have become aware of the privilege it is to have a mom who sees me not just as her child, but as a woman with her own hopes, fears and dreams,” Keyaira said of the project. “My goal is that these episodes will inspire other moms and their kids to get to know each other on a deeper level. I really feel where there is vulnerability, there is healing.” While Keyaira fills the discussions with modern millennial wisdom, Tarawoner serves as both an inspiration to mothers about how to be more transparent with their kids, and also as a surrogate mom for adult listeners who may find it impossible to have real talk with a mother figure. “Just be open and honest about what you’ve been through,” Tarawoner advises moms. “Talk To Your Mom” to me is about intergenerational relationship. It’s a way to communicate revelation knowledge to your offspring about your life lessons so that future generations will be able to give the perfect gift of openness to their kids,” she explains. “Being able to speak more candidly to my daughters without judgement is priceless to me. I want to see love and compassion move through these relationships so they can become whole and rich”.
