Source: Aaron Wiggins / Aaron Wiggins Future truly belongs to the streets. The rapper hit peak toxicity levels earlier this week after fellow Atlanta rapper, Big Bank DTE, shared a clip of what could possibly be a forthcoming Hndrxx track. “I don’t know her name but she had my child,” Future raps. The self-proclaimed Haitian Goddess and Instagram influencer said she can’t pay her court fees according to court documents obtained by The Blast. View this post on Instagram This pregnancy was absolutely the toughest, most humbling, yet beautiful experience of my life. I went through hell and back. Health complications seemingly from day one. Lost friends, money, opportunities, and even some of the little bit of sanity I thought I had . However, this journey taught me to be more understanding, observant, forgiving, and most importantly PATIENT . There were times I felt so alone and would look down at my belly and immediately cheer up, knowing she’s hanging in there with me through all of the stress and drama. She’s truly been my protection and kept me strong and going. There were moments I began to doubt myself, but my spirit wouldn’t stay down, thanks to my beautiful little girl. Her annoying kicks would always be the reassurance I needed to make it through the tough days. Knowing what I know now and after looking back on my experience, I can confidently say she was well worth all the chaos. From the moment I decided to keep her, I promised myself and God that I’d show her unconditional love and teach her to be 3x the woman I am. And that’s a promise that will never be broken. I’m super excited and blessed to get a chance to love and guide this little one. I can’t stop crying tears of joy when I look at her. Thank God we made it A post shared by Haitian Goddess (@elizareign_) on May 1, 2019 at 5:33pm PDT The court ruled in her favor, finding her “Indigent”, which waives the majority of fees she would have to pay in her legal battle against Future. Earlier this year, Seraphin official filed her lawsuit against Future, seeking child support for their child. Future has denied that he is father. The rapper has a total of 6 kids, including one with singer Ciara. Ice-T Joins Criticism Of ‘New Jack City’ Sequel Saying It’ll Be ‘Hard To Match Nino Brown’

More here:

Source: John W. Ferguson / Getty After wesley snipes expressed worries about the “new jack city” sequel in the works, Ice-T is now giving his thoughts. The actor and rapper spoke with HipHopDX on the topic, considering he starred in the 1991 movie along with Snipes. When asked about his opinion on the movie, Ice-T said he’s not involved in the project and explained: “I don’t know if they’re going to be able to pull it off for a couple of reasons. One is Wesley’s performance. It’s going to be hard to match Nino Brown. I mean, Wesley did a legendary performance to where people are actually calling themselves Nino Brown. He really did it, a fictional character. Two, I think that movie had a lot to do with timing.” He continued: “It was about the crack era  during  the crack era. All the music was current — from the New Jack Swing music and the stuff Teddy Riley was doing. It was based on an actual operation out of San Francisco Felix Mitchell had going, where people were getting high in a building and never leaving. So, that was real, The Carter was based on something that was real. So right now, you’re in an opioid epidemic, but I just don’t know how they could flip it.” Ice-T went on to say that he didn’t want another remake mishap like the recent remake of “Superfly”. “I mean, they tried to remake ‘Superfly’ and that sucked,” Ice-T said. “I mean, it was a valid attempt, but you can’t make a movie that’s just a big music video.” When asked if he’d be in the sequel to “New Jack City”, Ice-T said: “I definitely would want to read the script. I wouldn’t want to mess with it. Even though that was my first movie, that’s still one of my best movies that people talk about, so I wouldn’t want to destroy that legacy. I think they’d been better just doing another movie, not having it to do with ‘New Jack City’ ; just do a new movie. I don’t think you can remake ‘New Jack’. I don’t think you can remake ‘Scarface’. I don’t think you need to remake ‘ The Godfather’; certain movies like that, leave them alone, you know?” There you have it. Ice-T seems to join Snipes, who said: “I think some things should be left alone…if it worked at the time under the circumstances. And the story was built around things that are current. I don’t particularly like the idea of recreating the drug culture. For what? […] I don’t know. They actually talked to me about doing it and I told them no. If I had a dime for every time I’ve said no. It’s a done deal, it’s a wrap.” A release date has yet to be announced for the “New Jack City” sequel since it’s still in the works with actor and filmmaker Malcolm M. Mays writing the script. There is no director attached yet. Lupita Nyong’o Is Right, Colorism Is The Daughter Of Racism

Read the original:

Source: Dia Dipasupil / Getty While promoting her anticipated children’s book, Sulwe , Oscar winner lupita nyong’o dropped some serious nuggets about colorism . When talking to BBC Newsnight on Monday (October 7) about the concept of her book, which centers on a Black girl who has darker skin than her family, Lupita shared her own personal experiences. “I definitely grew up feeling uncomfortable with my skin color because I felt like the world around me awarded lighter skin,” the Black Panther and Little Monsters star told host Emily Maitlis. Adding that said her lighter-skinned younger sister was called “beautiful” and “pretty,’ adding “Self-consciously that translates into: ‘I’m not worthy.’” Most importantly, she stressed that colorism “is the daughter of racism” in “a world that rewards lighter skin over darker skin.” Take a look: While colorism is an extension of racism and white standards of beauty that have been force-fed to us (hence, her being told that she was “too dark” during an audition), Lupita is stating nothing but facts when she says that Black folks have also internalized this hate. “We still ascribe to these notions of Eurocentric standards of beauty, that then affect how we see ourselves among ourselves,” she said. She’s absolutely right because the lens we view ourselves through doesn’t always reflect the reality of our infinite beauty. It’s society’s own initial reception of Lupita’s beauty that truly woke me up to how dangerous and irrational colorism is in our community. Back in 2012, when Lupita first came on the scene playing Patsy in 12 Years A Slave and how instantly inamoured Hollywood became with her—as was I. Whether it was her slaying the red carpet or being named People’s Most Beautiful Person, people couldn’t get enough of this new It-Girl. And yet, while this was happening in the “mainstream” world, it felt as is some Black folks had a different take on her fame. On the blogs, Twitter and Facebook, even the “wokest” folks expressed this fake concern about Lupita being overexposed and worry that she was being eroticized and fetishized by white folks. Even worse, there was this widespread belief that white folks were only praising her beauty (and dark skin) to somehow make fun of Black folks. Quite honestly, it’s pretty damn pathological. When white people praise light-skinned Black women like Beyonce or Tessa Thompson or the countless other beige-looking starlets, we wouldn’t bat an eye or question their motives because light-skinned and racial ambiguity is the standard of beauty. It’s what has been forced down our throats and we accept it. But when that same shine was focused on Lupita, it invoked something in us. It was an internalized disbelief that white folks could never find Lupita beautiful because we didn’t (well y’all, ’cause she’s the baddest woman on the planet to me). It was if her mocha skin and short tight 4c afro should never rock the cover of Vogue because we actually believed it wasn’t worthy because that’s what white folks had been telling us…and believed it. Somehow we were flipping this to say and do everything except admit we were the ones having a problem. Self-hate is a helluva drug. Granted, it’s been years since that all went down and things are slowly getting better, but colorism and disdain for darker-skinned Black women is still as persistent and pervasive as ever. Just look on Twitter, the ‘Gram or any other pocket of Black culture, there are examples of how our darker-skinned sistas are mistreated, ignored and verbally berated for the melanin. Even our favorite Black Hollywood gatekeepers continue to push this narrative by casting mostly lighter-skinned starlets in roles (especially as love interests), pushing out the chocolate sistas who are equally if not more talented. So say what you want, but all of this is happening on our watch by our own hands. While colorism may be the daughter of racism, it’s also the sister of internalized racism.  The real question is what are we as Black people going to do to stop it? Cyn Santana Says She Had To Dump Joe Budden To Protect Her Mental Health

Visit link:

Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty Cyn Santana has been single since the spring, when rumors first surfaced that she and fellow  Love and Hip Hop New York  co-star Joe Budden called it quits after dating since 2016. Months later, she said she’s ready to date again. “I like being wined and dined,” she said when talking about what she wants in a man with Tiffany “New York” Pollard on her Brunch with Tiffany show. “I love talking. I love getting into people. I’m a foodie, you’ve got to feed me. That’s happening.” The news that Cyn was looking to get back out there was literal news to New York, who asked her about being in a high-profile relationship with Joe, which she clarified to a shocked New York that she was no longer in. When New York asked her if it was a “little bit of a separation,” she “It’s not a little bit.” “Cyn Santana is single,” she said. “It didn’t work out and this is it.” SEE ALSO:  Joe Budden & Cyn Santana Call It Quits She also made it clear for the first time that the breakup wasn’t a mutual decision. The 26-year-old reality TV personality dumped her 39-year-old partner and father of her son Lexington in an effort to protect herself. “ We didn’t decide on anything. I did what was best for my mental health, my peace and for me and my son, you know what I mean? It was a decision that I had to make on my own. This wasn’t a unison thing,” she said. “How can I keep this very sweet? Basically, let’s just say that I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been and that was probably the best decision that I’ve made in my entire life. In the 26 years I have of living on this earth, the best decision I made was leaving that relationship. And my son and I are amazing.” Cyn has spoken about struggling with depression in the past, which Joe hadn’t been the most supportive about. She told him on LHHNY  that he was “ dismissive as f–k ” about her feelings. It’s likely that issue, as well as their sexual incompatibility at times, led her to feel like it might be best to move on. SEE ALSO:  Joe Budden Implies Cyn Santana Won’t Let Him See Their Child: “I Miss My Son So Much” When it initially came out that Cyn and Joe may be on the outs, Joe denied it on his popular podcast. “We didn’t break up. There’s been no breakup,” he said at the time. “Now, words are important. So what does that mean? What that means is neither one of us said it’s over.” He said instead that they “haven’t spoken in a little while” and that he “didn’t take it no way when she moved all her s–t out of the house.” In a cryptic tweet in response to a fan question about breakups around that time, Cyn made it clear that it doesn’t take two to end a relationship. “Actions speak louder than words,” she said. “People have months broken up and don’t even know it. But God reveals all truths.” This story was originally published on MadameNoire.com .  ALSO TRENDING ON RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM : Legendary Actress From ‘A Different World’ Passes Away Tatyana Ali & Her Husband Welcome Baby Number Two [PHOTOS] Tisha Campbell Details Childhood Rape By Babysitter [VIDEO] Follow @TheRSMS

Scary: ‘Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ Parody Imagines Aunt Viv As Jordan Peele Horror Character

See the article here:

Source: NBC / Getty The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is being reimagined once again thanks to a fan-made trailer that pays homage to Aunt Viv. Only this time, the beloved 90s show is put within the Jordan Peele horror context where the dark-skinned Aunt Viv and the light-skinned Aunt Viv become violent adversaries. The trailer was the brainchild of filmmaker Bobby Huntley and Colbie Fray after they met at Sundance Film Festival. “We left Sundance knowing we wanted to work together on something within the near future,” Huntley said, according to Shadow and Act. “A month or so later, I called her late one night and pitched her this idea and without hesitation, she came on board.” Along with Fray’s creative partner Olamma Opparah , the filmmakers fleshed out the idea for the fan-made trailer called Auntie . Then, they produced the movie with a crew made up of mostly Black women, including producers Cassondra “Cassie” Beasley, Kayla Daniels and cinematographer Mya Morton.  The description for the plot reads: “ After a long, excruciating stint at a mental facility, Vivian Banks is released. Against strict orders from her psychiatrist, she makes her way back to Bel Air. Only to find her home and family has no recollection of her and every evidence of her existence has been erased. She must find out who was behind the hostile takeover before it is too late to reclaim her family and her home.” The trailer stars Theresa Lang, Letitia Jackson, Nic Starr and Charles Huggins. “Our goal isn’t to pit the two real-life actresses against each,” Huntley said. “They both did an amazing job bringing that character to life in their own unique way. We love every actor and actress affiliated with  The Fresh Prince of Bel-Ai r. It’s just human nature to contrast and compare. For people to still debate over 25 years later is really a testament to their talents and longevity. We are just simply asking the question, ‘What If?’” You can check out the hilarious concept for yourself below.

JAY-Z Hosting Blackjack Tournament At Florida Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Read the original here:

Source: Dave J Hogan / Getty JAY-Z isn’t averse to taking risks. So it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that the Hip-Hop mogul is hosting a blackjack tournament, but for the best of causes. Page Six reports that the “Picasso” rapper will be hosting a blackjack tournament with a $100,000 buy-in at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The proceeds will be for a good cause since the competition is part of the Shawn Carter Foundation gala that goes down the weekend of Nov. 15. The jackpot for the winner is a cool $500,000. If you’re not playing, you can kick in $40,000 for VIP access all weekend. Also reportedly part of the festivities are a black-tie gala, auctions and a concert headlined by Alicia Keys. A look at the Seminole Hard Rock’s website confirms Keys is performing “an intimate one-time-only performance to benefit The Shawn Carter Foundation on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9:30 p.m.” Sounds like the place to be in November, if you got the coin and clout. The Shawn Carter Foundation was founded in 2003 by JAY-Z and his mother, Gloria Carter. View this post on Instagram

Lil’ Kim Offered The Fade To A PETA Protestor [Video]

See the rest here:

Source: James Devaney / Getty It almost got a little spooky for a PETA protestor in New York yesterday (October 8) when Lil’ Kim was heading to an engagement. The protestor got a little too close for comfort and there was a moment the Queen Bee was set to offer the taper and the fade. TMZ has the rest: Lil Kim wasn’t about to let an anti-fur protester tell her what animals she can and can’t wear … nearly trading blows with the woman before security stepped in. Kim was outside Verizon Media Studios in New York City Tuesday when multiple anti-fur protesters started shouting “Stop wearing fur!” at Kim. One woman got just a little too close for LK’s liking … and that’s when she started walking toward the woman telling her to “back up” several times. Lucky for the protester, Kim’s security stepped in between the two and diffused the situation, ’cause it looked like the rapper was ready to throw down.
