‘RHOAS11’ Recap: Kandi Makes A Surprising Gesture Toward Porsha

See the article here:

Source: Tasia Wells / Getty The Real Housewives of Atlanta crew is still in Tokyo! Now it’s time for Eva’s second official bachelorette party. Tanya is hosting the party and planned a mix of culture with the typical bachelorette stuff so this is going to be interesting. NeNe comes through and acts weird the entire time. She’s basically taking her drama with Gregg out on everyone. But things get really amusing when the Japanese stripper comes through. He doesn’t speak English but it’s an interesting experience as he dances in a g-string and socks, and is generally very ironically reserved. He even bows after finishing his dance. This type of stripper culture is obviously super far off from what these ATLiens are used to, but they made due, and definitely cracked jokes.   Once the stripper leaves, Tanya introduces some games. The first game was where they’re supposed to dress in the most outlandish Harajuku-inspired looks they can, but they don’t like Tanya’s game so they shift to more traditionally raunchy bachelorette stuff. Then they take the party out on the town and have a blast. The next day, NeNe gets a chance to speak to Gregg on the phone and tells him she didn’t have a good time on the trip because of what’s going on between them. She’s exhausted nurturing him all the time and not having anyone to lift her up. Plus she doesn’t like who Gregg has become with cancer. Cynthia comes to check on her so she cuts the conversation with Gregg short, but this is the moment she finally gets to break down. She comes to tears as she explains to Cynthia that she’s tired of being strong all the time and that she sometimes needs to be vulnerable. Cynthia is all ears and very supportive like a good girlfriend should be. The next day, they hit the town for a samurai lesson. That turns out to be a clumsy, but fun experience. Then we find Eva and NeNe kicking it later on and the next thing you know NeNe gets flowers and a card. It’s from Gregg and he’s offering a deep apology. He apologizes for the pain he inflicted on her, tells her he loves her and asks her to let him back into her heart. NeNe is crying so hard she can barely stand it but it seems like it’s happy tears. Finally, Eva brings the group together for a final dinner in Tokyo. They discuss their highs, lows, hopes, dreams, and plans. They’re actually supportive of each other and there’s actually no drama or cattiness.  Then comes the moment where Kandi surprises everyone by telling Porsha that she feels crappy about some of the things she said about Dennis because she experienced that behavior from people with Todd, and Todd turned out to be amazing. So she understands how Porsha feels and apologizes for her behavior with regard to that. Porsha accepts her apology and is committed to moving forward and having better communication between them with hopes that they can once be cool again like they were. They hug it out just in time to head back to Atlanta! Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Alicia Keys hosts the 61st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and before the show officially got started, a few winners had already been announced including Dave Chapelle for Best Comedy Album, Black Panther for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” for Best Music Video and Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Future’s “King’s Dead” for Best Rap Performance. At the top of the show, Camila Cabello opens up the 61st annual Grammy Awards with a colorful Cuban inspired set for “Havana” featuring Young Thug. The highlight of the set was obviously Thugger who made a fashionable entrance in his finest Michael Jackson-esque rhinestone loafers but the guests didn’t stop there. Ricky Martin and J Balvin also joined Camila on stage for a “Havana” mashup. When that was over, Alicia Keys took the stage to begin her monologue. She thanked her friends, her husband, showed some love to Tracee Ellis Ross and then took a moment to surprise the audience by bringing out a few queens who happen to be some of the most honored women in the world. A big part of friendship is showing up for your girls—that’s why I was thrilled to be there for the one and only @aliciakeys at the #GRAMMYs . She is one of the most genuine and thoughtful people I know—there’s no one better to help us all celebrate the unifying power of music! pic.twitter.com/8cMhTmsClA — Michelle Obama (@MichelleObama) February 11, 2019 Without an introduction, out walks Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Jennifer Lopez. But that wasn’t even the best part —  Michelle Obama (who looked like a fine, tall glass of water) joined the ladies and the crowd erupted. There’s absolutely no way you can discuss queens and not bring Michelle O. Source: Kevin Winter / Getty Janelle Monae channeled her inner Prince when she took the stage for “Make Me Feel”. The Dirty Computer singer gave a very eclectic performance while wearing a black vinyl bodysuit and gyrating across the stage. If anybody knows how to put on a show, it’s Janelle Monae. She did THAT! “This Is America” won its second award of the night for Song of the Year. Unfortunately, he and his bleached out beard weren’t in the building to accept it. H.E.R, who was nominated for 5 Grammy awards, hit the stage to perform “Hard Place” and let’s be clear, her mic was ON! H.E.R. can sing live and she made sure we all knew it. The highlight of the night had to be Cardi B channeling her inner peacock and Offset loving every minute of it. Cardi twerked to “Money” with a tail of feathers and in that very moment, Offset was thinking about dropping a Kulture II in her womb. UHHHH CAN WE JUST?! #Grammys #cardib #offset pic.twitter.com/qD3lVwc3pV — Cosmopolitan (@Cosmopolitan) February 11, 2019 Drake shocked everyone when he actually showed up for the Grammys. The Toronto rapper won “Best Rap Song” for God’s Plan and he was up against some stiff competition. However, when he accepted his award, he treated everyone like a winner. He told his fellow rappers that even though they hadn’t won the actual award, as long as they had fans singing every word of their songs, waiting in the rain for their concerts, they are the real winners. Unfortunately, the Grammy’s wasn’t feeling that. They cut to commercial mid-speech. Yikes! WAIT…they cut Drake off???? #Grammys pic.twitter.com/MFuVCPAu1O — Global Grind (@GlobalGrind) February 11, 2019 Stay tuned here, as we give a live recap of the Grammys!

A Black entrepreneur from North Carolina is creating coloring books for the culture. In celebration of #BlackExcellence, Latoya Nicole launched a coloring book series that visually highlights African-American history and culture, the Charleston Chronicle reported. Latoya Nicole's coloring book “24 Shades of Business” is not only a therapeutic activity, there are also inspirational quotes and crossword puzzles that test your black history and reminds of what it takes to be successful in your career #BlackHistoryMonth https://t.co/z6WRttOZFh — Charleston Chronicle (@ChronicleChasSC) February 9, 2019 The coloring book—dubbed 24 Shades of Business —is an ode to Black entrepreneurship, the news outlet writes. Nicole says that in addition to celebrating Black trailblazers who fought for justice during Black history month, she wanted to see the accomplishments of Black business owners celebrated as well; especially Black women entrepreneurs. The 24 Shades of Business coloring book features imagery of Black women in a variety of different occupations, highlighting a women who leads in the boardroom, a photographer, a blogger, a yoga instructor, and other professions. The coloring book also features inspirational quotes. Coloring books have become therapeutic for adults. Nicole says she wanted to use her project as an avenue to celebrate Black women and encourage them to practice self-care. Nicole holds a master’s degree in counseling and psychology. “Women can be so self-sufficient and self-sacrificing that sometimes we can forget the importance of self-care,” she told the Daytona Times . “I knew I wanted to create something that I could relate to because representation matters, plus coloring was like therapy for me. Coloring allows us to switch our brains off from other thoughts and focus and concentrate only on the moment which can help decrease stress.” She also has another book in her Entrepreneurs Color Too series called 80’s Ladies which includes popular fashion trends from the 80s and 90s. Nicole has taken her mission to inspire and empower women beyond her coloring books. She has also created e-courses, books and journals to help women entrepreneurs grow their business. After she was granted a shorter probation sentence by Judge Dortch, Day got on the right track and is now finishing up her last semester at Rutgers Law School. She says she wouldn’t have been able to get to this point if it weren’t for Dortch giving her a chance to right her wrongs. “He didn’t see me as a docket number, or some poor girl from Camden,” said Day in a statement. “He saw me as a girl who needed help, who needed a chance.” Day—now a married mother of two—hopes that her journey will inspire other individuals who have been in similar situations. “You are not what happened to you. You are what you choose to become,” she said. Dortch and Day were reunited when she and other law school students visited the courthouse where he worked. “She really stuck out in my mind,” Dortch told NJ.com . “I saw a lot of perseverance in her face.” He also added that seeing her rise up, overcome her situation, and turn her life around for the better made his career.
