Maggie Carrie who was shot during that 2016 Troy Ave shooting at NY’s Irving Plaza is dating rapper Maino. And during a clip from “Love & Hip Hop”, she tells her friend Yandy how being injured still affects her to this day. “It’s a lot for me, something about the crowds—I just feel so vulnerable,” said Maggie. It’s been hard for me, I gotta start small.” Poor thing. No one can tell someone who’s been shot how long it’ll take them to heal both mentally and physically. We wish her the best—we’re looking forward to seeing more of her this season!
Rocco The Parrot Ordered Snacks From Alexa While Owner Was Away We thought this was hilarious! Rocco, an African Grey parrot seems like a real troublemaker. First Rocco was kicked out of a British animal sanctuary for his potty mouth — then after being adopted by a sanctuary owner, the brainy bird was smart enough to figure out how to operate his owner’s Alexa and managed to order snacks like strawberries, watermelon, raisins, broccoli and ice cream before the owner noticed the pending orders and put the child proof controls on to keep Rocco from racking up more charges. That wasn’t all he ordered either — he also asked for a kite, light bulbs and a kettle. According to online reports Rocco lives up to his name too — he likes asking Alexa to play him rock music and the occasional slow numbers. Sounds like a pretty cool pet.

T here’s now independent confirmation that Georgia’s Governor-elect Brian Kemp fabricated a tale about a cybercrime while serving as secretary of state to help himself steal the gubernatorial election from Stacey Abrams . This comes on the heels of news that federal investigators did not indict Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum in its probe into city government corruption. His Republican rival for Florida governor exploited the FBI investigation to win votes by falsely suggesting that Gillum was a criminal. While appearing Nov. 4 on CNN’s “State of the Union with Jake Tapper,” host Jake Tapper informed Abrams that Kemp opened an investigation of the Georgia Democratic Party. “This is a desperate attempt on the part of my opponent to distract people from the fact that two different federal judges found him derelict in his duty and forced him to allow absentee ballots to be counted,” she said after hearing about Kemp’s allegations for the first time. Kemp tried to use every trick in the book to suppress the Black vote for the 2018 election. Many, including former President Jimmy Carter , urged Kemp to recuse himself as secretary of state to ensure a fair election . But Kemp refused. In another closely watched election, Florida’s governor-elect Ron DeSantis painted Gillum, who would have become the state’s first Black governor, as a criminal. It was part of his racist campaign to win a close election. The cloud of corruption finally lifted from the mayor on Dec. 12 when an FBI report on its probe of Tallahassee officials confirmed Gillum’s denial of wrongdoing. Gillum’s name was not listed among those indicted by federal authorities in an investigation into whether businessmen were able to influence Tallahassee development projects. DeSantis poured millions of dollars into a smear campaign against Gillum. Republicans spent at least $7 million on TV ads to connect Gillum to the investigation. It paid off, with DeSantis winning a narrow victory. Bank officials said they later “chose to pay off her student loans because she exemplified the impact that loans can have on a family trying to achieve.” Because of this huge act of kindness, Ford believes this will change her son’s life too, allowing her to be a more present mother. See, folks hate when Black women stick up for themselves, have standards and are empowered in their decisions. L egal Aid Society lawyers urged Staten Island’s district attorney to prosecute two New York City cops who appeared in body camera footage to plant drug evidence after a traffic stop of four Black men in February. However, the prosecutor and police officials have denied seeing what’s obvious to many in the video, and they won’t reassess the case in light of the officers’ record of targeting Black and Hispanic drivers. McMahon , the legal advocacy group claimed that video evidence suggested that Officer Kyle Erickson planted a joint in Lasou Kuyateh ’s car after he and his partner Officer Elmer Pastran originally searched but found no drugs, SILive.com reported on Friday. The reason given for the stop was that the vehicle turned without a signal and its windows were heavily tinted. The New York Times obtained footage of what happened next. The men admitted to smoking marijuana earlier but insisted there was none in the car. Pastran replied, “I don’t appreciate being lied to. I know there is weed in the car. I smell it.” Pastran and Erickson originally declared that they found nothing. However, Erickson’s camera turned off as the search continued. Shortly after, Kuyateh is heard yelling that Erickson put something in his car. Erickson said he found a joint on the car floor behind the driver’s seat, in the same area where Pastran already searched. The officer’s camera had suddenly turned back on right before discovering the marijuana cigarette. Kuyateh, who was 19 at the time, was arrested and spent two weeks in jail before making bail. A criminal court judge dismissed the charges in October during pre-trial hearings over the gap in the police body camera video. Police officials and the district attorney’s offices told SILive.com that they cleared the officers of wrongdoing after internal investigations. They will likely be unmoved by the Legal Aid Society’s findings that 80 percent of the drivers stopped by the two officers were either Black or Hispanic. About 54 percent of their marijuana arrests involved Black people while arresting just four white people for drugs.
