E arlier in the week, white students at Colorado State University went viral for a disgusting photo in black face with the caption “Wakanda Forever.” Now, one of the people in the photo is blaming people for sharing the photo because it was just a “moment of silliness.” See Also: Michael Moore Begs Michelle Obama To Run For President: ‘She’s The One Person Who Could Crush Trump’ Freshman Leana Kaplan is the woman in the photo below: Source: Tay Anderson/Facebook / Tay Anderson/Facebook In one of the worst apologies ever, she wrote , “I am not going to allow a photo, the news media nor CSU to do the talking for me. Just as those who have been hurt have a voice, so do I, and I too am entitled to be heard no less than those who have been offended. No, this is not about me, but if there are lessens to be learned, the story behind the photo and the blond girl wearing black face surround by yet-to-be identified boys needs to be told.” She then said they were using facial mud and had the less than smart idea to take the photo and none of these college students thought it was even remotely offensive. Instead of taking accountability, she continued to over-explain, which is the first sign of not taking accountability, “However, this 2-minute activity, posted to a small group, was screen shot and shared by another person, then went viral. Does this deserve the daily death threats, harassment, along with the constant fear – and yes, prejudice– that is now my world at CSU?” Disturbingly and with her white privilege on overdrive, she blamed people viewing her as a racist on the people who shared her photo, “There are those who are exploiting this photo as an example of a racism on campus and the failure of CSU to eradicate this virus. These people include Tay Anderson, running for the Denver School Board, and who has been blasting this photo wherever he can to grandstand his out-of-town platform against racial prejudice. I believe this campaign may be responsible for threatening my employer, a national retailer, to terminate me, which has been done, now depriving me of income and placing a stigma on future employment and advanced education.” Tay Anderson is an activist who is running for Denver School Board At-Large. The photo was sent to him by Black students at CSU. He reacted to her horrific statement on Twitter with, “How are you going to blame me for your actions? This was the ‘I know it was racist, but the black guy in Denver shouldn’t have shared it’ apology.” https://twitter.com/TayAnderson2019/status/1172961809768206336?s=20 For all of the backlash she has received, CSU has decided not to punish any the students. President Joyce McConnell is arguing the students did not violate any school policies and the photo is protected by the First Amendment. How sad that Black CSU students have to pay to attend school with a group of kids you posted outwardly racist image of themselves on social media and they are not even punished. Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty The sexual assault case of Antonio Brown could have easily been brushed under the rug if the player agreed to a $2 million settlement according to reports. Sources are saying that Brown’s refusal to settle the matter out of court after the deadline passed last week has led to the revelation of the explosive details . ESPN reports : Antonio Brown declined to sign a $2 million-plus agreement with Britney Taylor to settle a sexual assault allegation made by the wide receiver’s former trainer, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. Brown had a deadline last Sunday night to sign the settlement agreement before Taylor’s attorneys sought to file their civil lawsuit against him. After Brown didn’t sign off on the settlement, the suit was filed Tuesday. Settlement discussions began as early as April and included two mediations, one of which occurred in May, sources familiar with the talks told Darlington. Brown’s decision not to sign the settlement came around the same time that he agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots, which his agent revealed Sept. 7 and was formalized Monday. Taylor alleges that Brown assaulted her on two occasions in 2017 and 2018, but Brown’s legal team is standing firm that the relationship and acts between Brown and Taylor were of a consensual nature. — Photo:

How will Yeezus respond? Will he? Should he? If I know Kanye West (I don’t know him at all… but if I did!) then I’d say we should expect to hear a response real, real soon.

N BA player Jarrett Allen has been dedicated to empowering the youth. The Brooklyn Nets center was instrumental in launching the team’s NETSTEM initiative—a program designed to teach Brooklyn youngsters about STEM through basketball—and has teamed up with different nonprofits focused on tech education. According to Elite Sports NY , in an effort to assist students with starting their new school year feeling confident, Allen provided underprivileged children in Brooklyn with haircuts. Looks by @_bigjayy_ | https://t.co/MhqSbGoZIV pic.twitter.com/VB1RQ0pOLj — Brooklyn Nets (@BrooklynNets) August 28, 2019 The San Diego, California native teamed up with the Children of Promise organization for the initiative. The nonprofit was created to provide support and resources for children who have parents who are behind bars to empower them to break the cycle of incarceration. The organization provides one-on-one counseling, mental health services and after school and summer camps and serves over 350 students each year. Allen took a group of children to Brooklyn’s Levels Barbershop for their haircuts. “It’s important to me because I have a lot in my possession,” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “I’m an NBA player, I have the dream that a lot of people want to have. So just to give back, show that NBA players care about people outside of basketball is important to me.” The 21-year-old was honored by the NBA with an NBA Cares Community Assist Award in April for his philanthropic work. Aside from his STEM education projects, within the last two years, he’s held several Brooklyn-based back-to-school events and often visits the Brooklyn Hospital Center to uplift young patients. Several NBA players are stepping up to support the youth. Los Angeles Clippers player Kawhi Leonard teamed up with the Los Angeles-based nonprofit Baby2Baby and the L.A. Clippers Foundation to donate one million backpacks to children from low-income families. NBA star LeBron James recently surprised one of the students from his I Promise School with a back-to-school shopping spree . Source: Mike Pont / Getty Tonight’s episode of Power finds Tasha potentially getting a new love interest. Unfortunately for her, she’ll never actually get her groove back (before going to jail) because Ghost won’t let her be happy. Let me rephrase that, she won’t be able to get her groove back as long as her narcissistic ex is alive . This is beyond f–k boy because Ghost has proven that he will actually kill anyone that Tasha loves as we’ve seen him do to Terry Silver. Here’s the deal about potential new bae, Tasha finally opened up her new daycare. One of her, ahem, clients is a sexy man named “Q,” and their chemistry is undeniable from the moment they first lock eyes. We knew they would get it on. They almost did, in Tasha’s office on top of a desk, but Tasha remembered who she was and stopped it. Her life is just too complicated and dangerous to be playing with people’s hearts, knowing that they might get killed simply by being affiliated with her. There was even a moment when Ghost came to the daycare to talk to her because she called him out on yet another crappy and selfish decision. Basically, he dissolved Raina’s trust fund and forged Tasha’s signature to do it. Ghost is using that money for the Queens Child Project and probably to pay Jason too, but Tasha feels like she’s entitled to half of that money, which she is. Anyway, he comes to confront her about demanding half and slowing down what he has going on, and Q interrupts the party. Tasha swiftly rushes Q outside to chat with him and Ghost hit him with the stare down the entire time like: Q says he’s not afraid of Ghost and that he has dealt with worse. Obviously, he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with, so we’ll see how this goes. Either Q is an agent sent to create more chaos, or he really is a naive law-abiding citizen who wants to see what life with Tasha could be all about. You never know with this show so we’ll have to see. Q: “Tasha, I seen worse than him. I can handle him.” The rest of us: #Power #PowerTV pic.twitter.com/qAD93vDkAT — Blocka Khan (@Starr_Rocque) September 15, 2019 Anyway, Ghost made it clear a long time ago that he doesn’t love Tasha but he also won’t let her be great. But then he admitted that he killed Terry because he kinda sorta still loved her. Obviously, this isn’t love. Let’s be real, Ghost is like a lot of toxic men who don’t really love their woman but will do anything they can to control them. Ghost being trash is a weekly theme. The other interesting point of note in the episode is that Proctor killed his ex-wife. It wasn’t directly but he’s an evil genius. He lied and told her that he was engaged, then had a fake letter sent to her from a law firm, denying her employment. He did all of this to trigger her enough to binge on drugs, which she did. Things got so bad that his daughter called him over for help because mom was spazzing out. She spazzed herself right to death. Proctor pulled out his phone and initially planned to call 911, but when she started foaming at the mouth he decided to let death do what it do. The only problem is, he said out loud, “I’m not gonna let you take her from me,” and you can hear that he didn’t call 911. His daughter’s backpack, the one that Saxe had bugged, was sitting right there, recording everything. Things looked shady af for Tommy too. His mom got to spend some time with Keisha and made it a point to mention Holly’s disappearance. Basically, Tommy’s mom doesn’t trust Keisha and wants Tommy to be smart about her. She feels like Keisha will always put her son first, as she should. However, Tommy is hardheaded, even though his mom has been right before. People on this show have had nine lives, but I get the feeling that won’t be the case this season. M otown Records will forever be embedded in the fabric of music and its founder is ensuring that the record label’s legacy prevails for generations to come. According to Crain’s Detroit Business , music mogul Berry Gordy has donated $4 million towards the expansion of the Motown Museum. Motown founder Berry Gordy makes $4 million gift for museum expansion https://t.co/8QoVZA0Hbk pic.twitter.com/83IrCMZde5 — Crain's Detroit Business (@crainsdetroit) September 4, 2019 The museum—which is housed inside of the record label’s first headquarters—captures the history, impact and influence that Motown has had on the music industry and beyond. It highlights Gordy’s entrepreneurial start and features the narratives of legendary artists like The Jackson 5 , Stevie Wonder , Marvin Gaye , and The Temptations who were instrumental in the success of the label. In October 2016, the museum revealed plans for a $50 million, 50,000-square-foot expansion. As part of the project, there would be more interactive exhibits, a performance theater, recording studios, retail shops and meeting spaces added. So far there has been $18 million raised and Gordy’s contribution is the largest from an individual donor. “I’m excited about the future of Motown Museum and happy to support it,” 89-year-old Gordy said in a release. “Not only will the expanded museum entertain and tell the stories of talented and creative people who succeeded against all odds, but it will also inspire and create opportunity for people to explore their dreams the way I did mine. I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of that.” Other donors include the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, DTE Energy Foundation, and Ford Motor Co. Leaders of the museum say they want to expand their impact in the local community by fostering job creation and economic growth. Robin Terry —who serves as the chairman and CEO of the museum—says that with Gordy’s contribution the institution can move forward with solidifying itself as a world-class entertainment and educational destination. T he late legendary basketball player Chuck Cooper was a trailblazer who broke color barriers in the realm of sports. 35 years after his passing, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native has finally received a long overdue honor. According to Celtics Wire , Cooper was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Chuck Cooper, first black NBA player, enshrined at Hall of Fame https://t.co/3JNtPnaEDl — The Celtics Wire (@TheCelticsWire) September 7, 2019 Cooper was a second-round pick during the league’s 1950 draft; making him the first African American player to enter the NBA. He was selected by the Boston Celtics. Before he launched his NBA career, he broke racial barriers at the collegiate level while playing at Duquesne University where he was an All-American and became the first Black player to compete in a basketball game below the Mason–Dixon line. Cooper—who had a 6-foot-5 and 210-pound stature—spent four years with the Celtics and also had stints with the Milwaukee Hawks and the Ft. Wayne Pistons. His journey in the NBA was no easy feat. He had to deal with racist taunting from crowds and was banned from restaurants and hotels due to the color of his skin. After his time in the NBA, he played with the Harlem Magicians basketball enterprise but eventually ended his sports career after suffering back injuries from a car accident. Several basketball legends were in attendance to honor Cooper including Bill Russell , Kareem Abdul-Jabbar , Isiah Thomas , Julius Erving , Dominique Wilkins , and Ray Allen . “The NBA’s color barrier was broken, and the game of basketball forever changed,” said Cooper’s son said during the induction ceremony. “It truly amazes me how the early African American pioneers played at such a high professional level while having to sacrifice, endure, and withstand the overt racism and social injustice of that time period.” Black athletes who have forever changed the landscape of sports are finally being recognized by the organizations they’ve impacted. Cooper’s induction comes weeks after a sculpture of Althea Gibson —the first African American to win a Grand Slam title and the first Black person to win at Wimbledon—was recently unveiled outside of Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York during the U.S. Open tennis tournament.
