Sanja Star Harrison, 14, was killed Monday night when a bullet ripped through the ceiling of her bedroom and struck her in the head, police said. Her family told Channel 2 Action News that Harrison was 8 months pregnant. The baby also died, the news station reported. Police reportedly believe the shot was fired from an upstairs apartment. Harrison’s brother says that his little sister was a kind person and “she didn’t deserve it.” “Investigators are working to determine if the shooting was accidental and at this time there has been no arrest made,” police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty said in a statement. Source: Scott Olson / Getty The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are warning US consumers to not eat romaine lettuce as it may be contaminated with E. coli. Thirty-two people, including 12 who have been hospitalized have been infected with the outbreak strain in 11 stages. One had a life threatening form of kidney failure. People have gotten sick in California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio as well as Wisconsin. The CDC is reporting that if you have any romaine lettuce at home, you should throw it away, even if you have eaten some and didn’t get sick like other people. The warning goes for all brands and types of romaine lettuce considering that no one distributor or source has been determined. Illnesses in the current outbreak started in October. It is not related to the romaine lettuce outbreak from this past summer . According to the CDC , symptoms of E. coli infection, which usually begin about three or four days after consuming the bacteria, can include “watery or bloody diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting.” It normally takes people to see their health improve within five to seven days but this strain of E. coli has caused more severe illnesses.

Melvin Johnson and Jeanette Wilson, both 17, were arrested Sunday after a short pursuit, ABC 13 reports. Police say the pair set up their 23-year-old victim, who picked up Wilson and drove her to her apartment expecting to have sex with her. Instead he was beaten, ABC reports . Johnson is accused of jumping the victim and stealing his car. The victim was left with bruises and lacerations after the attack. His stolen car was found a short time later. Both Johnson and Wilson are facing charges of robbery with serious bodily injury. As her loved ones continued mourning, questions lingered over how exactly the 47-year-old died Thursday. Initial reports pointed to Porter possibly suffering from pneumonia and flu-like symptoms in the days before her death. However, an autopsy performed over the weekend did not reveal any certain cause of death, according to a new report. “The cause of death was deferred pending additional tests,” Sarah Ardalani, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County office of the medical examiner-coroner, told USA TODAY on Monday. An official determination for what caused Porter to die “may take weeks.” BET News seemed to attribute Porter’s death to the flu, but most of the online reports were hinged on speculation instead of fact in a case that has captured the attention of both ardent and casual fans of the mother of four. Members of Porter’s family offered a glimpse into what happened in the days before her death. “She told me she felt better and that the doctor had been to her house and he gave her an antibiotic,” Porter’s grandmother Lila Mae Star reportedly said Saturday while recalling a conversation with her granddaughter on Wednesday. Her oldest son, Quincy, described himself in part as “broken.” The New York Daily News reported that Porter’s body may be flown to her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, where her family could hold her funeral. Porter’s mother was reportedly buried in Columbus. Porter was found unresponsive in her California home on Thursday, sending shock waves across social media and especially resonating with fans of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who had a romantic relationship with Porter. The two had three children together, with Diddy raising Quincy with Porter. Diddy posted a message about Porter to his Instagram account, writing, “For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. (Screenshot Nola.com) 30-year-old Arthur Posey was arrested on charges in connection to a bomb threat at Willie’s Chicken Shack when restaurant employees say that Posey approached the food prep area and asked what time the restaurant closed. According to the female employee, Posey replied to her, “Y’all about to close right now because I’m going to get a bomb and blow this place up.” Sounds like a typical bomb threat, right? Well, Posey says his words were misconstrued and refereed to the classic and common slang of “blowing a place up” as in blowing up their bathroom after using it. His official warrant even says as much but the employee stated that Posey never said anything about a bathroom. Posey has since been charged with two counts of communicating false information of planned arson. He’ll be back in court on November 29.
