The Emmy Award-winning comedian was arrested for putting hands on a driver in Portland. Reports TMZ : Katt allegedly attacked the driver of a town car that was supposed to take him to the Moda Center Friday night after an argument about transporting his dog … according to the police report. Cops say the driver sustained minor injuries to the face — including swelling and cuts — and was treated at a local hospital. Katt left the scene of the alleged assault in another vehicle. According to the report … cops located Katt Saturday morning to investigate the incident and arrested him. They also discovered he had an out-of-state warrant. Katt’s bail was reportedly set at $2,500 after he got charged with misdemeanor assault. He was scheduled to perform at a ‘Wild ‘N Out Live’ concert on Friday night, but he never showed. L ate legendary boxer Muhammad Ali was someone who used his platform in the realm of sports to bring attention to social and political issues that impacted the Black community. Giving a voice to the voiceless and speaking out against injustice was in the boxer’s DNA. According to the Washington Post , new genetic research shows that one of Ali’s ancestors was a slave who fearlessly fought for freedom. Alexander, who according to DNA evidence was Ali’s great-great-great grandfather, escaped from slavery and was instrumental in secretively providing the Union Army with information during the Civil War era. While enslaved in Missouri, he was owned by an individual who believed in Confederacy. Alexander risked his life sharing news about the Confederate troops’ whereabouts and plans with Union soldiers, ultimately saving several lives. After it was discovered that he was providing information to the Union Army, he made his escape and went to St. Louis where he worked for Washington University’s co-founder William Greenleaf Eliot who protected him from slave catchers. Alexander’s heroic efforts are symbolized by a statue dubbed the Emancipation Memorial in Washington, D.C.’s Lincoln Park. Keith Winstead , Ali’s cousin, was the one who discovered the genealogical connection. “The beautiful thing about Ali is that he acted all along as if he were royalty, that he had a claim to greatness,” author of Ali: A Life Jonathan Eig told the news outlet. “Ali spent much of his life attacking racist ideas. If he had known that his great-great-great grandfather was such a brave and intelligent man, it surely would have strengthened his argument.” His daughter Maryum Ali says that he would have been proud to know that Alexander was one of his ancestors. Although Ali passed away two years ago, his family continues to carry on his legacy by speaking out against injustice. His ex-wife Khalilah Ali recently addressed Donald Trump after he made comments about posthumously pardoning Ali . So, love aside, “the day after Election Day” when Donald Trump was elected as president was when the southern rapper felt that stabbing pain. Though he’s very vocal about politics, T.I. said he can’t see himself jumping into any political roles. “I would rather use my influence to support them and make sure that they get in there so they can do what they were born to do,” he said. It’s a different level of talent. I love the Gap Band, I don’t know anybody who doesn’t love the Gap Band. It wasn’t hard to get that sample, now they took a nice little chunk ( laughs ) but they deserve that chunk. I didn’t care if they wanted to take the whole pie, I just knew that sample needed to be on that record. I didn’t care, I was just happy they were gracious enough to let me sample it. Marion “Pooch” Hall has a whole lot of explaining to do. The actor was arrested on Wednesday night (Oct 3) for DUI but the crazy part is the authorities say he also let his 2-year-old drive. Hall, who currently appears in Ray Donovan , was spotted basically being the worst father imaginable. Reports TMZ : Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Hall, who plays Daryll, was driving in Burbank at around 7:30 PM when witnesses called 911 after seeing the toddler in his lap holding the steering wheel. We’re told the witnesses were horrified to watch the car veer off and smash into a parked car. Thankfully, there were no injuries. One eyewitness tells us he saw the child crying in the front seat. The eyewitness says he looked in the window and the car seat was just laying among the junk in the back seat. It was not installed. We’re told when police came they smelled a strong odor of alcohol and Hall could barely walk. His blood alcohol level … .25 — more than 3 times the legal limit.
