Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty Tiffany Haddish knows how to keep it classy even when she’s clapping back at folks who disrespect her. Earlier this week on the on the V-103’s Frank and Wanda In The Morning Show, Katt Williams had words about the “Night School” actress claiming that she doesn’t deserve the spotlight she’s been given over comics such as Mo’Nique. To make matters worse, he also referred to her genitalia as a “diseased vajayjay.” While, Williams tried it, thankfully Haddish finished it. On Friday (Sep. 14), Haddish to took to Twitter, sharing the clip of Williams badmouthing her, saying the following: “It’s official I made it!@KattPackAllDay talked about me and didn’t have his facts right! # Iwin # sheready I look forward to seeing you on Monday Katt, when we pick up our Emmys. I just want to shower you with REAL Love cause you need it, and I Love you .” It’s official I made it!@KattPackAllDay talked about me and didn’t have his facts right! #Iwin #sheready I look forward to seeing you on Monday Katt, when we pick up our Emmys. I just want to shower you with REAL Love cause you need it, and I Love you https://t.co/WVOgZvwLZn — Tiffany Haddish (@TiffanyHaddish) September 14, 2018 In case you need a refresher, here’s what Williams said about his co-Emmy winner. “She’s been doing comedy since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet. She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes back to back for an hour to nobody,” Williams said. He added, “They like her because she wanna sleep with a white man. That’s why the only thing she said was I wanna give it to Brad Pitt. She said she’s got a diseased vajayjay ain’t nobody checking for that.” Sadly, Haddish wasn’t the only one who Williams attacked. He had a lot to say about a slew of upcoming Black comedians such as Jerrod Carmichael , Lil Rel , Kevin Hart and Hannibal Buress . “They’re going to let you do your special, Jerrod Carmichael, but nobody’s gonna watch it. They’re gonna let you be a star, Lil Rel, but you’re ugly and white people don’t believe in ugly stars. They believe that you have to be somebody women want to sleep with and men want to be, but because we’re black they say ‘oh you don’t even deserve that.’ So we get Kevin Hart, Lil Rel, Jerrod Carmichael, Hannibal Burress, just dudes that no woman would talk to in Lennox Mall, but you’re making them superstars because you know ain’t nobody gonna sleep with them.” Sigh. Why can’t we all just get along? “Just win, baby’’ was the mantra of Al Davis, the late owner of the Oakland Raiders, and it pretty much sums up Tuskegee coach Willie Slater’s sentiment after his Golden Tigers escaped with a hard-fought 24-17 SIAC road win against winless Clark Atlanta Saturday night. The Golden Tigers (2-1) were guilty of enough miscues to cost them the victory. They gave up a safety, lost a pair of fumbles – one on Clark’s goal line and one that was returned for a touchdown – and they committed numerous mental gaffes. “It wasn’t pretty, but we’ll take it,’’ Slater. “We were our worst enemy, but we kept fighting back.’’ The Golden Tigers spotted Clark an 8-0 lead after the Panthers (0-3) took the opening kickoff and drove 71 yards on nine plays for a touchdown and made a two-point conversion. Quarterback Charles Stafford was 4-for-4 passing for 46 yards on the drive. Clark was aided by a 15-yard personal foul penalty against Tuskegee on third down after the Golden Tigers had denied the Panthers a first down. Tuskegee’s defense regrouped after the first series and didn’t allow any points the rest of the game. “They caught us by surprise with some of the things they were doing,’’ Slater said. “We had to make some adjustments.’’ The Golden Tigers had to adjust their offense as well going into the game. Junior quarterback Ahmad Deramus made his third career start, replacing Jamarcus Ezell. Ezell underwent season-ending shoulder surgery earlier in the after he was injured last week against Albany State. Deramus had an up-and-down performance. He completed 10 of 17 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns. But he also lost a fumble on a first-and-goal play at the Clark one yard line when the Golden Tigers were in position take a two touchdown lead. In addition Deramus was sacked three times. At least twice he was out of the pocket and could have avoided being sack had he thrown the ball away. “He’s our guy,’’ Slater said. “He had some big plays, and he had some bonehead plays. We’ve got to iron out the bonehead plays. He’s a winner. We got to make sure we don’t put him in situations he can’t handle.’’ The Golden Tigers didn’t lead until Deramus came up with on of the big plays Slater referred to. He connected Peyton Ramzy on 55-yard touchdown with 8:16 left in the game. The score gave Tuskegee its first lead of the contest, 24-17, and provided the margin of victory. Earlier Deramus found Javarrius Cheatham for a 42-yard touchdown pass as time expired in the first half that tied the score 10-10. KEY GAMES Jackson State 18, Florida A&M 16 – Special teams rose to the occasion Tallahassee, Fla., as the Tigers claimed an inter-conference victory for their fist win of the season. Christian Jacquemin booted four field goals, and Khalil Johnson blocked a 30-yard Florida A&M attempt with four minutes left in the game that would have given the Rattlers (1-2) the lead. Florida A&M gained 463 total yards – 340 passing – but the Rattlers only put the ball in the end zone twice. Their other points came on a 98-yard point after touchdown return by Terry Jefferson. Jackson State (1-1) forced three fumbles to help keep the Rattlers at bay. Fort Valley State 21, Miles 19 – The Wildcats worked some fourth-quarter magic to pull out an SIAC road win – their first victory of the season – in Birmingham, Ala. Quarterback Slade Jarman found Jaylen Lowder along the right side line with 21 seconds left in the game to give Fort Valley (1-2) the win. The scoring drive consumed 6 minutes, 5 seconds and covered 65 yards. The Wildcats’ first lead came with 7:25 remaining in the fourth quarter when Lorenzo Smothers scored on a six-yard run that put Fort Valley on Top 14-13. Miles (0-3) responded with a five-play, 80-yard that gave the Golden Bears a 19-14 lead after their two-point conversion attempt failed. Bowie State 47, McKendree 41 – The Bulldogs built a 22-point first half lead and coasted to a road victory in Lebanon, Ill. Quarterback Amir Hall threw for 352 yards and pair of touchdowns for the Bulldogs (2-1). Hall completed 41 of his 52 throws. He also ran for 95 yards and two scores. Bowie State led 35-13 at the half. OTHER RESULTS Weather Hurricane Florence wreaked havoc on the Black College Football schedule, causing 11 games to be postponed or cancelled. S hirley Chisholm ’s career journey broke barriers for Black women in the realm of politics and now 50 years after she made history by becoming the first African-American woman elected to the United States Congress, the Brooklyn native will receive a major honor in her hometown. According to Curbed New York , a new Brooklyn park will be named after Chisholm. Brooklyn will get 407-acre state park dedicated to Shirley Chisholm. https://t.co/0ksq1WQmfG pic.twitter.com/9TFUoe5nDI — Curbed NY (@CurbedNY) September 6, 2018 The park—which is slated to be the largest state park in the city—is a part of an initiative led by Governor Andrew Cuomo dubbed “Vital Brooklyn.” Through the $1.4 billion initiative, Gov. Cuomo is aiming to revitalize neighborhoods in the borough by creating more jobs, providing affordable housing, improving education, and transforming outdoor spaces into parks. The park will span 407 acres and feature paths for biking and hiking, picnic areas, concession stands, and a waterfront for water activities. It will also possibly include spaces for educational programming and an amphitheater. “Shirley Chisholm led the fight to improve the health and wellness of underserved communities that we carry on today with the Vital Brooklyn initiative, and we are proudly naming this park after her in admiration for the example of leadership and devotion she set for all of us,” said Gov. Cuomo in a statement, according to the news outlet. Shirley Chisholm State Park is slated to be completed by next summer. Chisholm served as New York’s 12th Congressional District representative from 1969 through 1983. In 1972, she became the first Black person to run for president as well as the first woman to seek the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Black women who have shaped our country’s history are finally receiving recognition and credit where it is due. In September it was reported that journalism pioneer Alice Allison Dunnigan —the first Black woman to receive press credentials to cover the White House—will be honored posthumously by the Newseum in Washington, D.C. with a statue. A fter spending nearly three decades behind bars for a crime that he didn’t commit, a Brooklyn native is turning the pain from his experience into something positive. John Bunn , 41, is advocating for education in prisons and launched a program that provides inmates with books, CNN reported. John Bunn was wrongfully convicted of murder as a teenager and exonerated after 27 years of fighting for his freedom. He says the power of reading saved him. Now, he's building libraries in prisons. https://t.co/Xt7iFmbIGI pic.twitter.com/zdjnFVXQaA — CNN (@CNN) September 15, 2018 In August of 1991—when Bunn was 14-years-old—police officers came to his Crown Heights apartment and took him to the 77th precinct for questioning in relation to the murder of a Rikers Island corrections officer, the news outlet writes. Although Bunn told officers that he had nothing to do with the crime, he was put in a line up with adults, wrongly identified as the individual responsible for the murder, and placed behind bars. He was charged with murder and robbery and sentenced to nine years to life. From that day on, he and his family tirelessly fought for justice. Going to prison was a tough journey for Bunn. He reportedly dealt with abusive guards who he claims attacked him because of the nature of his case. He developed depression and anxiety. Bunn struggled to communicate with his family while he was imprisoned because he was illiterate. That barrier motivated him to learn how to read and write. He started reading children’s books and dictionaries and worked with teachers to develop his skills. That experience fueled his passion for education and he then went on to get his GED in prison. Reading became an escape from his situation. “I wrote my mother one day … and I said, “They can lock my body, but they can’t trap my mind,” he told CNN. “The power of reading made me feel that way. I felt trapped without a voice for so long, but the power of reading could take my imagination, and take me to anywhere in this universe.” In May 2018—with the help of a non-profit called the Exoneration Initiative—he was exonerated. Shortly after being released from prison, Bunn launched his own non-profit called A Voice 4 The Unheard. Through the organization, he’s focusing on growing the libraries at Riker’s Island and putting literature into underserved schools. His organization has donated over 20,000 books. “There’s no greater feeling than me feeling like I’m existing for a purpose, and this is what gives my life purpose right now. Through my nightmare, I found my dream,” he said. Organization’s like Bunn’s are needed. According to the Literacy Project Foundation , three out of five people in U.S. prisons have trouble reading. Source: AFP Contributor / Getty Among the several artists that contributed to Travis Scott ‘s chart-topping Astroworld album, fans were excited to find that Frank Ocean was among them. According to sources close to the singer, Ocean is displeased with his appearance on Scott’s record and is allegedly using legal means to have his vocals removed. TMZ reports : Sources close to the singer and rapper tell TMZ … Frank and Travis started beefing in the weeks leading up to the August release of Travis’ “Astroworld” album, which immediately shot up to No. 1 on Billboard. The beef’s about “Carousel” featuring Frank. We’re told Frank’s PISSED because his vocals — featured in the chorus and third verse — were changed. It’s unclear what changes were made. Frank’s voice includes Auto-Tune … and his pitch is noticeably higher in the third verse than in the chorus, but we just don’t know what’s got Frank so upset. Here’s what we do know — Frank’s rage has been so real he’s been demanding Travis remove his part in the track, but to no avail. Our sources say lawyers are now involved. We’re told Frank’s legal team fired off a cease and desist to Travis’ team to remove him from “Carousel” … OR ELSE! The outlet adds that Scott and his side are sticking to their guns and have not moved to take Ocean’s vocals off the song. If true, the two artists are sure to legally tussle over this in the weeks and months to come. Listen to “Carousel” below. — Photo: Getty
Source: Jessica Alexander/Future Image/WENN.com / WENN Lil Wayne has a recording artist since he was a boy and now approaching the age 36, he has done just about everything there is to do within the recording industry. Now back in full control of his Young Money music imprint, the Lousiana artist revealed the long path to releasing his long-awaited Tha Carter V album and much more. In a sit down with Billboard , the artist born Dwayne Michael Carter shared some insight about his creative process and isn’t putting too much pressure on himself as it relates to Tha Carter V . As it stands, Weezy F. Baby has finally settled into his status in the game but also approaches his craft with a measured sense of carefulness. A lot is riding on his upcoming album, which is anticipated to drop this year. In the chat, Wayne dropped several thoughts, such as being inspired by his four children as he and his former business partner and father figure Bryan “Birdman” Williams engaged in a years-long legal battle while trying to patch up their longstanding connection damaged by their fallout. While he said that he and Birdman do speak, mostly about sports, he’s keeping his distance as he focuses on tightening up his album. From Billboard : Wayne and Birdman are back to talking every day, usually about the Red Sox. But Wayne is less trusting and focused on his album. “Not even just with him, but my relationships with a lot of people have become different, just because of how different I work now,” he says. “I’m submerged in everything about myself, trying to be better at who I am. It’s something where you have to cut some things off.” Four months ago, Wayne moved into this new space, with the skate park and ESPN playing on mute around the clock in the recording studio. Soon after, he injured his heel, which kept him off his board for a month and forced him into the studio full time. It was, he says, “God telling me, ‘You have to go to work, bro.’” After experiencing a series of widely reported seizures between 2013 and 2017, Wayne has cut his marathon recording sessions from what he says were 26-hour runs down to “12 or 14” hours. “That’s the main thing that friends and family and the doc and all them recommend,” he says. “Just get you some rest.” Read more from Billboard here . — Photo: WENN

Source: Michael Loccisano / Getty The Bossip crew on tonight’s episode of Bossip on WETV pulled no punches, as usual when discussing major pop culture events of the week. Kym Whitley, Tami Roman, and Joseline Hernandez join tonight’s episode to get in on the smack talk. The first few topics up for discussion are Serena Williams’ match against Naomi Osaka. As we all know, Williams went off on the umpire for accusing her of cheating. That’s obviously a wtf! No athlete, especially one as good as Williams would ever want to hear such a blasphemous statement made about their playing skills so she rightfully went off. Tuh! via GIPHY Next, the crew weighs in on the new Miss America, Nia Imani Franklin. The 25-year-old multi-talented beauty was recently crowned in what was the first Miss America since the organization did away with the swimsuit competition. It’s Miss America 2.0, who can be mad at that? Some people can, but I’m not. Kym Whitley is the first guest to join the squad to discuss her new book, a novel entitled, The Delusion of Cinderella , and her time on Braxton Family Values helping Traci come up with some storylines outside of her sisters since they ditched her. It’s a cool vibe as they break down Chris Brown’s child support drama, Nicki Minaj vs. Cardi B’s beef situation, and the rumored Faith Evans vs. Mary J. Blige NYFW fight. The latter never actually happened, but it did inspire the Bossip version, which was cougar fights they’d like to see. They want to see Kris Jenner vs Caitlyn, Cicely Tyson against anyone (lordt), Madea and Mo’Nique, but Kym pointed out that, that technically already happened. It’s all just jokes people, but let us pray. Joseline Hernandez joins the convo via video chat to add nothing we don’t already know about the Nicki vs. Cardi situation, but she does offer that no one better mess with her. via GIPHY Tami Roman joins the group for a quick kiki and she discusses how people don’t often get to see her softer side on Basketball Wives because “they want people to be specific characters.” She’s a character alright! Anyway, she and Reggie still aren’t getting married and in case you didn’t know, the Bonnet Chronicles is the result of people on Basketball Wives talking smack about her. via GIPHY Finally, the episode concludes with gems only Bossip can deliver — Hat-fish offenders. Hat-fish is a term for big headed men who are fine when they have their hats on, but…you get it. Ne-Yo, Plies, and Young Jeezy are a few members of the hat-fish squad. Then, play cousin Marcellas Reynolds stops by to discuss NYFW lewks and finally, the episode winds down with the reminder that the Braxton Sisters plus Mama Braxton, will be back on Braxton Family Values next week and Iyanla Vanzant is going to read Tamar (and probably all of them) for filth.
