Put ‘Em To Work: R. Kelly’s Girlfriends Reportedly Raising Funds To Spring For Super Lawyer

Source: Nuccio DiNuzzo / Getty The girlfriends of R. Kelly are hoping to help out their jailed boo by reportedly hoping to secure funds to hire the services of a powerful lawyer. Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage are working some angles in the industry to secure book deals and other avenues so that Kelly can hire the services of the attorney that got Michael Jackson off from facing child molestation charges. TMZ reports : Sources close to Kelly’s girlfriends/alleged sex slaves tell TMZ … they’re joining forces to help Kelly scrounge up the funds to hire the attorney who got Michael Jackson acquitted in his child molestation trial — Tom Mesereau. We’re told the ladies have a couple potential projects in the works that could land them a big payday — including a book deal — and their plan is to put that money toward the Mesereau fund … along with Kelly’s general defense fund. Our sources say Joycelyn and Azriel have just hired reps who are reaching out to media outlets to score some paid interviews. None are scheduled yet … but we’re told there’s some interest. The outlet adds that the goals of Clary and Savage could be a longshot as they’re having some difficulty in acquiring a talent manager that could get them in some rooms to pitch their ideas. Mesereau doesn’t come cheap so this could be a long uphill climb. — Photo: Getty

Every Hot Girl Needs A Red Lipstick For Summer And This One Doesn’t Smudge

Source: Brande Victorian / Courtesy of Danielle James There is nothing like a bold, red lipstick . It takes any look up a notch and exudes sex appeal with a few simple swipes onto your lips. However, of course, something so beautiful and alluring couldn’t come with a few problems. Red lipstick seems to be one of those colors that never just stays on your lips. So, when Megan thee Stallion announced it was a hot girl summer, how can you have a summer beauty slay without red? Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James With all white parties and men to be kissed, every hot girl needs a red lipstick in her arsenal. One that she doesn’t have to constantly check up on. One that won’t end up under her bottom lip or daringly dance outside the constraints of her lip line. A red lipstick she can eat a solid meal and not end up wearing it by the end. A red lipstick that she can apply in the morning, have a cup of coffee, give a kiss to her partner and still have it look freshly applied by her first meeting of the day. It’s possible. You deserve this hot girl, no matter your morning (or night) routine. So imagine my surprise (and happiness) when I stumbled upon a such lipstick. I finally got a chance to learn more about Deck of Scarlet at BeautyCon 2019 . This company began in 2016 and is the sister company to Scentbird, a fragrance company. It’s a beauty subscription model, releasing palettes to their subscribers bi-monthly. The company has been around since 2016 and is known for providing you with consistently fresh makeup and beauty tutorials to help you create the looks. Not into the whole subscription model thing? No worries – they also allow you to shop the makeup on the website as well. They have a beautiful red lipstick in ‘Siren’ ($23.00, deckofscarlet.com ) and when I tried it out, I was instantly in love. The formula applied smooth and the pigment not only matched the website, but also the packaging. I tried this lipstick out on two different occasions and both results were the same: the lipstick held up. The interesting thing is that Deck of Scarlet doesn’t even advertise this magic, which made it feel like a beauty secret I needed to share. For the best results with matte red lipstick, I recommend a few things: Before wearing any red, I exfoliate your lips the night before, especially if it’s a matte formula. Matte formulas tend to accentuate any dead skin on the lips. Prep your lips with a lip primer (but do NOT apply an lip gloss or balm) – with a matte lipstick, it will cause the lipstick to shift no matter how great the wear is on a matte formula. A lip primer can be professional like, Lip Insurance Lip Liner ($20.00, ulta.com ) or something as simple as the concealer you use for the under eye area. Now back to the experience. I wore it one Friday summer night and was shockingly surprised by the end of the night. So surprised, I took this horrible photo in the elevator but have to share anyway. I quickly applied this lipstick before I left the house, drank rosé, ate dinner, had a little makeout sesh (hey, we said it was a hot girl summer and this hot girl is single) and went home! When I saw my lipstick was STILL and only feathered slightly. I was like, ‘alert to all hot girls!’. Source: Brande Victorian / Courtesy of Danielle James I tried this lipstick again for work and was so impressed. I even wore it with a white shirt because I was that confident about not worrying that it would transfer. The lipstick lasted all day and I got lost of compliments at work. I also noticed that it makes your teeth look whiter, meaning it most likely has cool undertones. The lipstick led me to try out one of their eyeshadow palettes. I tried ‘Destination Desert’ ($44.95, deckofscarlet.com ). I’m going to try it again, because I didn’t find it heavily pigmented and I used a primer to help bring out the color. I’m going to try it again; however, I’m going to dampen my applicator to help the color come out more. If you try out this, please tag me @TheIslanDiva on Instagram or Twitter and let me know your experience! LeBron James Surprises Student With Back-To-School Shopping Spree

N BA star LeBron James ’ impact goes far beyond the basketball court. The Akron, Ohio native has continually utilized his platform and resources to support individuals in need. According to WKYC , the Los Angeles Lakers player surprised one of the students from his I Promise School with a shopping spree just in time for the new school year. “We shouldn’t have our kids worrying about if they’re going to have pencils and bookbags. Only thing they should be worried about is how they can be a great student, a great classmate, a great brother, a great sister.” — LeBron Thank you @walmart & @kingjames pic.twitter.com/r0b7OmcU6P — I PROMISE School (@IPROMISESchool) August 30, 2019 The surprise was a part of James’ partnership with Walmart. He teamed up with the national retailer earlier this year to assist with pushing their initiatives surrounding education and hunger forward. The student, whose name is LaRiyah , was gifted with a back-to-school spree for herself and her peers at a Walmart in Kent, Ohio. For James, this act of kindness was personal. While coming of age in Akron he witnessed first-hand how school supplies can become a financial burden for families who are struggling to make ends meet. “Coming from Akron, it’s easy for me to be able to relate to anyone of my kids in school because I’ve walked those same roads, not knowing if you’re going to be able to go back to school,” said James in a statement. “To have such a great partnership with Walmart and outfit our kids with supplies, I believe is going to do something for their confidence to just hit the ground running.” The surprise was just one of a few social good projects that James is leading with Walmart. Earlier this year—as part of the Fight Hunger Spark Change campaign —James created a pantry at the I Promise School for underserved families that featured food and personal care items. James isn’t the only NBA player on a mission to provide underprivileged students with the items they need to have a good school year. In August, Kawhi Leonard teamed up with the Los Angeles-based nonprofit Baby2Baby and the L.A. Clippers Foundation to donate one million backpacks to children from low-income families. Alabama Man Who Received A Life Sentence For Stealing $50 Set To Be Released

Source: Andrew Unangst / Getty In Alabama , stealing 50 bucks could get you a lifetime in jail. Alvin Kennard was only 22 years old when he stole $50.75 from a Bessemer-area bakery. He was ultimately arrested and charged for the crime, which resulted in a life sentence without parole. All for $50. I want the opportunity to get it right.” According to reports from AL.com , the his insanely harsh sentence was triggered by the Habitual Felony Offender Act, aka the “three strikes law.” Kennard had previously been charged with burglary and grand larceny in connection to a gas station break-in, which means that his combined convictions made him eligible to receive a life sentence under the controversial act. I just witnessed the most extraordinary moment. She let the court know that he hadn’t received a behavior citation in 11 years or a prison disciplinary in 14 years. “When I first went to visit [Kennard], the guard was chatting with me,” Crowder to  ABC News , “and when he saw who I was visiting, he said, ‘That’s one that you could let him out and he wouldn’t cause any more trouble.’” She went on to reassure the judge that Kennard would do well in the outside world, as he has maintained relationships with his friends and family. Beauty Advice: Tips For Growing Out Your Eyebrows And Lashes

Source: moodboard / Getty When it comes to flaunting a flawless face, any makeup lover will tell you that eyebrows and lashes are easily part of the equation. Not only do they work to shape your face and create a dramatic effect, but on days when you’re doing the bare minimum, shapely eyebrows and full lashes are all you need! While many makeup mavens who are not genetically blessed with the perfect eyebrows or lashes rely on makeup products to get the job done, there is a way to get your own into tip-top shape. You may be thinking about microblading but, to be honest, we’re looking to keep things simple and all-natural! Read through to get some useful tips on how to take your barely-there eyebrows and lashes to a full and healthy state. Castor oil is your best friend.  High in omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin E and other minerals, this oil already works wonders in growing hair, so why wouldn’t it work on your eyebrows and lashes? Simply apply a few drops of castor oil (Jamaican Black Castor Oil is best) to the palm of your hands. Grab a clean spoolie and rub it in the oil in a circular motion. Dab on your hands to catch the excess and apply to your eyebrows and lashes. This method is best right before bedtime to give the oil time to work its magic. Aloe vera is not only for your hair.  Natural methods always reign supreme when it comes to hair growth and aloe vera is no exception. Containing the compound aloenin, this plant promotes seamless hair growth. Peel the outer leaf of the aloe and scoop out the gel. You can add the gel to a blender with a few drops of castor oil and blend until you reach a watery consistency. Use a spoolie to apply the mixture to your brows and lashes. Refrigerate after each use. Avoid overplucking, over waxing and lash extensions.  While these methods can seem like a quick fix to give you beautiful lashes and brows, the damage can be long-lasting. Give your self a break from these methods to start seeing a change in your hair growth. Skip moisturizers and creams. Let’s be clear, applying a moisturizer daily is recommended for hydrated skin. However, when applying your moisturizer of choice, it can clog your hair follicles. Apply your facial creams around your brows and lashes to maintain your hair’s natural breathing process for growth. Add a multivitamin to your diet. Multivitamins with biotin and vitamin B complex are great for promoting hair growth. Vitamin A and C are also great for blood and oxygen circulation to stimulate the hair follicles. Ever Had An Awkward Encounter: This Spongebob Meme Is For You

Source: Bryan Bedder / Getty Folks on social media can find the smallest, oldest, most relatable things to go viral and make a new mark on pop culture. First there was good ol’ Arthur (and his balled up fist) who got meme-ified and became the official “no longer for kids” cartoon after Black Twitter got its hands on it — and everyone else followed suit. And this year in particular, the Spongebob memes have been the highlight of the Internet. There’s a Spongebob moment for each experience you encounter in life. And now we have “Aight Imma Head Out” Bob. The meme shows a fed up Spongebob getting out of his favorite chair dipping off when something uncomfortable happens. Middle Schooler Provides Classmates In Need With Clothes And School Supplies

A middle schooler from Louisiana is paying it forward by ensuring that his classmates have basic necessities to start the school year. To help students in need, 13-year-old Chase Neyland-Square created a closet at his school to provide them with free clothes and school supplies, CBS News reported. 13-year-old creates school closet to give clothes and supplies to classmates in need https://t.co/UCP3CBbjmD pic.twitter.com/pAre3ssKCa — CBS News (@CBSNews) August 30, 2019 Neyland-Square—an eighth-grader at Port Allen Middle School—came up with the concept for the project while participating in the school’s SPARK (Student Program for Arts, Recreation, and Knowledge) program. He and other students were tasked with developing ideas for social good initiatives that would benefit the school and the local community. Aware of the struggles faced by some of his peers, Neyland-Square decided to transform one of the closets at his school into PAM’s Pantry; a space that houses donated clothes, shoes, personal care and hygiene products and school supplies for students and their families. “I know that everybody doesn’t have things and I’m fortunate to have things that other people don’t have, and I look at it as sometimes, how would I feel in that situation?” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “I’m going to come back and continue working on PAM’s Pantry. I’m hoping one day I can turn it into a non-profit organization.” Initiatives like the one being led by Neyland-Square are needed. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. Several youngsters are leading their own philanthropic efforts to help people in need. In celebration of their birthday, Alabama-based 12-year-olds Breanna and Brooke Bennett launched an initiative designed to provide care packages that include hygiene products for girls their age.
