The Kardashians Announce New UCLA Health Center Named After Their Late Father

Kardashian center for esophageal health being launched at UCLA,” Kim wrote on Twitter as she shared a photo of the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “My wish is that other families can have more information and we can also focus on health and prevention.” Robert was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in July of 2003 and died less than eight weeks later at the age of 59. Sony Spills The Beans On PlayStation 5, Hints At Faster Load Times & More

Source: picture alliance / Getty Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro is still going strong but it’s no secret PS5 is on the horizon. Speaking with Wired , Sony revealed the system is well on its way plus what gamers can expect when it is finally unveiled. Assuming Sony sticks with tradition, its next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5 but, lead system architect Mark Cerny made sure to keep the forthcoming system’s name under wraps. But he did reveal the inner workings of PS5. Cerny revealed that the PlayStation 5 will be sporting a solid-state hard drive that will enable to it have faster load times, will still use physical discs despite rumors of consoles heading in the discless gaming direction, will be backward compatible allowing owners to play PS4 games as well. Under the hood, AMD will be supplying a new central processing unit and a graphics processing unit that will allow ray tracing which help produces improved visuals in computer graphics. Cerny also hinted that Sony is still making sure PS VR is a focal point for the company. Without confirming nor denying The PlayStation 5 will support PlayStation VR and there might be a possible updated version coming as well. As far as a release date is concerned, Cerny made sure to point out that the PlayStation 5 is not coming out this year. But it’s very close and is “deep” in development with development kits already being shipped to game developers to get the ball rolling. So we can expect some top tier titles ready to go when Sony’s new next-generation console launches. With Google , Apple , Nintendo , and Microsoft all hinting at next-generation gaming it was only a matter of time that Sony will show what is in the pipeline. T.I. Seems To Be Taking Shots At Kodak Black In New Song

Recently the controversial  Kodak Black  found himself catching the wrath of his rap peers and basically everyone else for talking slick about a grieving Lauren London and while he’s since apologized for his headassery, he and T.I. have continued to feud over the situation. After taking down Kodak Black’s artwork from the Trap Music Museum it now seems like Tip might have something else in store for the alleged rapist in the form of a diss track that he previewed on social media. Without actually naming names, the King of The South drops rhymes that hint at his situation with Kodak with lines like, “Ni**a took it too far, better slow down/Your belief becomes your thoughts, then your thoughts become your word/then your word becomes your actions and your actions become absurd.” Well, he ain’t wrong. Whether or not Black will respond on social media or his own diss track remains to be seen but best believe T.I. ready for all the smoke with Kodak. Black Tony from the Rickey Smiley Morning Show hit up Z107.9 to chop it up with Bijou Star. During their conversation, Black Tony claims that City Girls star Yung Miami is pregnant. While we don’t take much of what comes out of his mouth seriously, we did a little digging to see if there was any truth to the accusation. Watch the video below. Chicago Police Caught On Camera Punching Female High School Student

Email Submit On the footage, you can see Dnigma talking to a friend as officers loom in the background. When the friend leaves they immediately run up on Dnigma and push her to the ground. Video from another angle shows the officers dragging Howard down the stairs, and at the bottom one officer is holding her arm while the other is holding her leg. “In the video you can see they pull her by the leg down the stairs, the whole flight of stairs,” Dnigma’s father Laurentio Howard. One cop on the video appears to both punch and kick the teenaged girl while she’s on the ground. Dnigma’s father had been called to the school to pick her up after she was kicked out of class for having her phone out. He was on hand watching Chicago police handle his daughter like this. “I’m standing downstairs by the front door and she said, ‘I’m going to get her to come downstairs. Victim Shot In Nipsey Hussle Murder Arrested For Parole Violation

Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN Kerry Lathan , the man who  Nipsey Hussle  was buying clothes for on the day that beloved rapper was gunned down, has been arrested on a parole violation . Lathan, 56, who was one of the two men who were shot and wounded during the March 31 shooting has been in jail since Monday. One of the terms for most California parolees is that they have no interaction with felons or gang members. Due to Hussle’s affiliation with the Rollin 60’s Crips, it is widely believed that Lathan may have violated his parole that way. Lathan had served 20 years for murder before being released on parole. “Gov. Gavin Newsom should order the immediate release of Kerry. His arrest sends a horrible message to parolees trying to integrate into society and for [corrections] officials to label Hussle, who was a Grammy-nominated artist entrepreneur, gentrification fighter and philanthropist, as a known gang member is a slap in the face to his family and our grieving community,” community activist Najee Ali told  The Los Angeles Times on Friday. RELATED:  Watch Nipsey Hussle’s Celebration Of Life On March 31, Hussle went to The Marathon Store to get some clothes for Lathan so that he would be fresh to see his family and friends for the first time in well over two decades. Then, tragedy struck. Lathan, Hussle and another man were standing outside of The Marathon Clothing store when  Eric Holder approached them. After a brief verbal confrontation between he and Hussle, the two shook hands and Holder left. He then later returned, opening fire, hitting Lathan in the back and shooting Hussle numerous times. Hussle died at an LA area hospital. Holder was arrested on April 2 and has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder in the killing. A public memorial service was held Thursday for Hussle at the Staples Center followed by a long procession through the streets of Los Angeles, culminating in a large gathering on the newly minted Nipsey Hussle Square where The Marathon Clothing Store is located. “The Marathon Continues,” was an underlying theme throughout as the streets of South Central L.A. filled with well wishers, fans and more. He was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Hollywood Hills on Friday. Students At LeBron James’ I Promise School Show Impressive Academic Improvement

I t’s been nearly a year since NBA star LeBron James opened the I Promise School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio and it has proven to be nothing short of impactful in the lives of underserved children. According to CBS Sports , its students are making strides and displaying excellence when it comes to academics. “We are reigniting dreams that were extinguished — already in third and fourth grade,” said Brandi Davis, the principal at LeBron James’s I Promise School https://t.co/mzVUtgtUOY — The New York Times (@nytimes) April 13, 2019 When many of the students started their journey with the school they were at least one grade level behind and now they are outperforming other students in their district. Results from Measures of Academic Progress testing showed that 90 percent of students met or surpassed expectations in math and reading, their test scores increased at a higher rate than nearly 100 other schools, and students who were reading below grade level are now within or above the 25th percentile. Furthermore, fourth-graders went from the second to 30th percentile in math and third-graders made improvement in that area as well going from the first to the 18th percentile. James is happy to witness the progress the students have made and hopes that it brings attention to the need for quality education in underserved communities. “These kids are doing an unbelievable job—better than we all expected,” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “When we first started, people knew I was opening a school for kids. Now people are going to really understand the lack of education they had before they came to our school. People are going to finally understand what goes on behind our doors.” The I Promise School has grown to become a staple in the community. Aside from enriching the lives of children through education, it provides resources for low-income families; including everything from a food pantry to career support. The school will launch summer camps surrounding STEM education within the next few months and in 2021 students will have the opportunity to further their education at the University of Akron free of tuition. Second-Grader’s School Project Led To Meeting With Bessie Coleman’s Niece

A Black youngster is displaying the power and importance of representation. At the age of four Noa was exposed to the legacy of aviator Bessie Coleman through an episode of the animated series Doc McStuffins and has made the effort to learn more about her historic contributions. When asked by her second grade teacher to do a project about Amelia Earhart , she decided to highlight Coleman instead, Because of Them We Can reported. When Noa was 4 she learned about Bessie Coleman. Now in the 2nd grade, when her teacher asked her to dress up and do a report on Amelia Earhart, she refused. Now she can add Bessie Coleman’s niece to her list of friends. https://t.co/ama7yfu2d0 — #becauseofthemwecan (@Becauseofthem) April 8, 2019 Noa and her classmates were tasked with doing history projects about influential figures from different time periods. They had to complete written reports and dress up as the individuals they wrote about for the school’s Wax Museum exhibit. Noa went above and beyond with her project and with the assistance of her parents contacted The National Aviation Hall of Fame and the National Women’s Hall of Fame who provided her with relics to use for her presentation. Cognizant of the influence that Coleman’s journey has had on Noa, the National Aviation Hall of Fame arranged for the second-grader to meet Bessie Coleman’s great-niece Gigi Coleman in-person. The organization flew the family out to Ohio for Coleman’s show which was a part of the Air Force Museum Foundation’s Living History Series. “I want other kids to know that at times it’s not just an assignment, but it could be something that could change your life,” Noa’s mother Moniqua told the news outlet. Born in 1892, Bessie Coleman was the first Black woman to earn a pilot license. Since there were no flight training opportunities for women and people of color in the United States she saved her money to study aviation in France. The Texas native got her international pilot license in 1921. She aspired to open up an educational facility for Black fliers. She died in 1926 at the age of 34 in a plane crash. Coleman was the epitome of a barrier breaker and her legacy lives on through individuals like Noa who have become students of her journey. Check out Noa’s Wax Museum project below.
