The Outkast rapper and the NFL joined forces to donate to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in his hometown. TMZ Sports reports : The Outkast rapper — who performed with Adam Levine and co. during the Super Bowl LIII halftime show — will announce Thursday a joint donation of $100k from himself and the NFL. We’re told the money will be going to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Big Boi’s hometown of Atlanta. Sources familiar with the deal tell TMZ … the joint donation is similar to the ones the league made with the other halftime performers in Atlanta. Maroon 5’s went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Travis’ went to Van Jones’ Dream Corps. Their donations were announced before the big game, but we’re told Big Boi always intended to make one too. He just took longer to announce it because he needed time to decide where the money would be put to the best use — and The King Center won out. Kelly may be back in jail but in his sit-down with Gayle King , the embattled singer explains why he is broke. “That’s one rumor that was true,” Kelly told King. “Here’s the deal. So many people have been stealing my money. People who were connected to my account. I went by myself for the first to Bank Of America, didn’t know what the hell was going on, didn’t know what to do.” Kelly’s first visit to Bank of America by himself was three weeks ago according to the singer. He says “its on me” in regards to him not knowing his financial status. “I had $350,000 in the bank and I told [the bank teller], ‘take the money and I wanna start a new account.’ She says it was going to take 6 to 7 business days in order to clear. Does that make sense?” Kelly was unable to make bail when he was originally arrested towards the end of February on 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. “How can I pay child support? How?!” the singer exclaimed while in tears. “My ex-wife is destroying my name! And I can’t work! How can I work? How can I get paid? How can I take care of my kids?! How?! Use your common sense!” He denied abusing his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly , calling the allegations lies and recapped the day that he proposed to her after flying in a helicopter with a teddy bear. In Surviving R. Kelly , Andrea Kelly detailed the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband. “My kids is listening to this … all this nonsense and I haven’t even able to spend time with them! What kind of woman would tear down a dad who is trying to have a relationship with their kids?” When asked about the relationship with his kids, Kelly responded that he had zero relationship with them. “But I love my kids,” Kelly said. Source: Stephen Lam / Getty Apple’s long-rumored second generation AirPods might come with a feature the company promised for some time now. According to rumors, the tentatively named AirPods 2 will feature a wireless charging case that achieves a full charge in 15-minutes. The case along with the AirPower mat was promised by Apple with the announcement of the iPhone X. Leaker Max Weinbach who doesn’t really have a great track record when it comes to his rumors drop the news about the AirPods 2 on his Twitter account. He states “wireless charging will happen” and will apply to both the case and the AirPods. The case will be able to achieve this “super fast wireless charging” by utilizing Qi coils, the technology that can already be found in Apple’s iPhone 8, X, XS, XS Max, and XR smartphones. While this is a huge improvement from generation 1’s current 3-hour battery life after a 15-minute charge, there are some downsides. Weinbach reports that the case will be “bigger in one direction and heavier,” fans should not be worried though. So the Apple news. AirPods wireless charging will happen. It will be VERY fast (0-100 in 15 minutes.) That speed is for the AirPods AND the case. It will probably use Qi charging. Weinbach says we can expect the AirPower and AirPods 2 wireless charging tech to be released in the next few months. Ortega / Getty On Monday night, cast members and plenty of other important people were in attendance for the world premiere of Marvel’s latest highly-anticipated project, Captain Marvel . The event was absolutely major and also happened to be the first of these events helmed by a woman, making the stakes even higher. Brie Larson got huge applause when introducing the film at the Dolby Theatre, summing up the special moment by admitting, “I’m crying a lot today.” Roughly 100 members of the Air Force were met with a standing ovation after their jets had flown over Hollywood Blvd. to kick off the event just a few hours earlier. Captain Marvel is expected to open somewhere in the $125 million range this weekend, which is definitely something for the studio to boast about. But even before its release, the movie has been met with its fair share of criticism–mostly consisting of some angry white men being upset over Brie Larson’s comments about diversity . Now, following the film’s premiere last night, some not-so-rave reviews have hit the web juxtaposed by others who have been praising the movie endlessly. So who are we to believe in a world full of conflicting opinions? Well, the obvious answer is to just see the movie for yourself, but we’re in the age of instant gratification. While we wait for the regular folk release of Captain Marvel on Friday, let’s take a look at what some people who already saw the film are saying about it–but don’t worry, no spoilers here. A lot of the reviews make mention of DC’s “feminist hero” film, Wonder Woman–which isn’t surprising, considering we’re talking about the two major comic book film studios and their attempts at women-leading projects. “DC did it better. In fact I'd argue Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was more charismatic than Brie Larson as #CaptainMarvel . I mean Wonder Woman was THE feminist hero. Stop giving excuses. Just say #CaptainMarvel was terrible and you hated it. Or if you loved it tell that. All the reviewers are contradicting themselves in their reviews.
