Source: Global Grind / Global Grind Back in October, Global Grind spoke to Jay Ellis about his new movie “Escape Room” in theaters January 4th. The film stars Jay Ellis alongside Deborah Ann Woll, Taylor Russell, Tyler Labine, Logan Miller and more. The movie is about a group of individuals who are chosen to participate in an extreme escape room for their chance to win a million dollars. However, there is a lethal twist to these rooms and they all find out that attempting to escape comes with a huge price. When we talked to Jay Ellis about “Escape Room” in October, we asked the star to choose three celebrities he’d take into an escape room with him. He chose: Idris Elba because he’s strong, chiseled and smart. These are all great things you’d want in someone you’re trusting your life with. John Legend is also very smart. They don’t call him the Legend for nothing. Niecy Nash will keep things fun and she’s very motivating. Motivation is key when trying to figure out puzzles and complete obstacles in an escape room. Niecy Nash is an amazing choice. When asked who he absolutely would not take on his Escape Room adventure, Jay Ellis says he’ll need to leave Neil Brown Jr. aka Chad from Insecure , at home. According to Jay, it’s much too risky. He and Neil are real live friends and they’d probably spend the entire time goofing off with each other to really get anything done. As an update to our Escape Room question, we got the chance to sit down with Jay Ellis and his co-star, Deborah Ann Woll to ask them which of the film’s characters they would have liked to participate in an escape room with. Deborah Ann Woll was the first to answer. She tells Global Grind, “I’d pick Mike (Tyler Labine). I mean, obviously you pick Zoe (Taylor Russell) because Zoe is going to get you out alive, but I think Mike’s character is good because he keeps the levity. When things feel like you’re all going to die, it’s nice to be able to have a laugh.” Jay Ellis also chose which character(s) he’d like to do an escape room with. His answer was a little different from Deborah Ann Woll’s but he had very good reasons. A suspect sketch and clearer video of the man police believe shot and killed 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes on Sunday has been released and the nation as well as Harris County deputies want the man found. In a meeting with the media on Thursday, Jazmine’s mother LaPorsha Washington provided a new description of the suspect. She said he was a white man with blue eyes, wearing a black hoodie and looked “sick” and skinny. Washington also said that the man did not have on glasses and did not have a beard, which was previously reported. Celebrities such as Gabrielle Union, Ava DuVernay, Bun B and more have called on people to help solve her murder. Shaquille O’Neal and DeAndre Hopkins are set to cover Barnes’ funeral costs. Jazmine died after investigators say someone in a red, four-door pickup truck pulled alongside her mother and three sisters as they sat in a car near a Walmart along the east Beltway and Wallisville Road and fired. The truck has yet to be found. A Justice for Jazmine rally has been planned for Saturday at noon in the parking lot of the Walmart on the East Beltway. On Tuesday, January 8, a viewing is planned for Jazmine at 10 a.m., followed by a public funeral at noon to be held at Green House International Church at 200 W. Greens Rd. Purple balloons will be released to the sky in honor of Jazmine and all murder victims in Houston and Harris County following the service. As their unnamed source tells it they had one more embryo left after their third child Chicago was born via a surrogate in 2018. The news of KimYe expecting again should not come as a surprise to fans of the reality star turned mogul and Rap great turned free thinker. Kim has recently expressed wanting a big family but has made it clear she is no longer here for carrying the pregnancy. She admitted to experiencing several health issues including preeclampsia and placenta accreta with her first two babies prompting her doctors to advise against another natural pregnancy. Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty President Obama Just Landed A Spot On The Billboard Charts Barack Obama has just scored a spot on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. Y’all’s lil president could never. The Hawaii native debuted on this week’s list for his contribution to the new gospel-inspired arrangement of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton hit “One Last Time (44 Remix),” according to Billboard . Obama’s contribution to the song (unfortunately) doesn’t include any singing, but he delivers his rendition of George Washington’s farewell address on the track–which also features original Hamilton cast member Christopher Jackson and gospel star BeBe Winans. The song is a variation on the original song from Hamilton and debuted at No. 22, one slot above the John Legend’s holiday hit, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Lin-Manuel Miranda released the track on December 20 as his last “Hamildrop” of the 2018, and of course, its title is an obvious nod to Obama being the 44th U.S. president. President Obama’s history with Miranda dates back to 2009, when the he held “An Evening of Poetry, Music & Spoken Word” at the White House. Miranda rapped a song from what he was calling his “Hamilton Mixtape,” and the performance garnered tens of thousands of views online. That event is what helped inspire the full-blown 2016 musical that went on to win the New Yorker’s musical 11 Tony awards, as well as the 2016 Grammy for best musical theater album and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for drama. The entire cast visited the White House in 2016 and Miranda once again returned in 2017 to perform “One Last Time” as a tribute to Obama at the end of his second term.

Gene Okerlund , one of the more memorable figures in pro wrestling history has died. He was 76. The news was confirmed by the WWE who called Okerlund “the most recognizable interviewer in sports-entertainment history.” Okerlund worked for the WWE (then WWF) from 1984 to 1993 then returned in 2001. Okerlund’s no nonsense style played off well in legendary segments with greats such as Sting, Diamond Dallas Page, Goldberg, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, Ric Flair, Ultimate Warrior, Andre The Giant, Ricky Steamboat and Hulk Hogan. Classic wrestling fans will recall Hogan saying, “Let me tell you something Mean Gene!” or Flair opening any interview with Okerlund with a giant “Whooo!” in front. Okerlund had battled previous health issues in the past. He was the recipient of two kidney transplants, one in 1995 and a second in 2004.
