As you may have noticed, the past few weeks SB Nation has rolled out a host of regional sports sites . We’re up to twelve so far, with eight more coming by the beginning of July. Twenty sites in twenty days, y’all. Bottom line: if your city doesn’t already have an SB Nation regional site, well, just a wait a few days and you probably will. And so it’s with great pleasure that I introduce our latest site, SB Nation St. Louis , managed by Dan Moore of our always excellent Cardinals blog, Viva El Birdos . He’s joined by a team of some of the best St. Louis sports bloggers out there, so be sure to bookmark it and check it out. Like the rest of our regional sites, the guy sat SB Nation St. Louis came up with a list of the top five most popular athletes in the city. I’ll give you one guess who took home the top spot. Starts with an “Albert” and ends with a ” My god will that shot off Brad Lidge ever land? ” Pujols. Things got more interesting after the Cards first baseman, with Adam Wainwright, Sam Bradford of the up-and-coming Rams (is there any other direction for that woebegone franchise to go?), Yadier Molina (don’t underestimate how much they love their great defensive catchers), and Steven Jackson rounding out the rest of the list. Now it’s your turn to tell us how you’d rank the stars of the St. Louis sports universe — after the great Pujols, of course. Will the much-ballyhooed Bradford edge out Wainwright, or will fantasy-favorite Steven Jackson take home the silver medal? Poll After Albert Pujols, who’s the most popular St. Louis athlete? Adam Wainwright Sam Bradford Yadier Molina Steven Jackson

‘We were as shocked as Katy Perry when we saw that these were not Haribo Goldbears but poor imitations,’ rep says. By Kara Warner with Jem Aswad Gummi Bears in Katy Perry’s video for “California Gurls” Photo: Capitol Records The badly behaving Gummi Bears featured in Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” video have manufacturers of the candy saying: Those aren’t our bears! Despite the video’s cheery feel, it features two otherwise friendly-looking, oversized Gummi Bears greeting Perry not with hugs and a hello, but with a rude hand gesture: The offending bear in question apparently gives the singer the finger early in the clip. Perry told MTV News earlier this week that she likes to inject her own “naughty twist” into her work, but representatives from well-known manufacturers Trolli and Haribo have insisted that their bears would never behave in such a way. “Those are definitely not Trolli Gummi Bears in the video because Trolli Gummi Bears would never be that rude,” John Leonardo, senior brand manager of Farley’s and Sathers (which owns Trolli), told MTV News on Wednesday. “Trolli bears would extend their chubby little arms and give Katy a big old bear hug and whisper, ‘Everything is going to be alright.’ ” And on Thursday (June 17), a representative for Haribo, another manufacturer, told MTV News: “We were as shocked as Katy Perry when we saw on closer inspection that these were not Haribo Goldbears but poor imitations. “After all, Haribo Goldbears are happy, fun and sweet, not rude and crude!” Between both manufacturers, if Perry decides to film a video where the Gummi Bears have undergone anger-management therapy and been rehabilitated, she’ll know exactly where to look. What do you think of the Gummi Bears’ behavior in Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”? Let us know in the comments below! Photo via the NY Times …According to Rachel Maddow Plenty of people felt let down by Obama’s oval office speech on the BP Gulf spill , and believed it was as a lost opportunity to rally for more progressive energy policy in a meaningful way. I was one of them, admittedly. But one pundit did more than complain about what was left unsaid — Rachel Maddow and her writers drafted up their version of a superior speech; one that included taking a hard line on the oil industry, f… Read the full story on TreeHugger

But they are beginning to deal with the concept of living with less, and show a couple squeezing into a modest 1100 square foot house in Mill Valley, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright disciple Daniel J. Liebermann- that cost $1,125,000 to purchase and over $ 400 a foot to renovate. But it is a gem of a thing. More at New York Times … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Well, after the initial reports of Kelvin Sampson-to-the-Cavs surfaced a few weeks ago, the Cavaliers coaching search had taken on much greater proportions as owner Dan Gilbert dangled a lifetime’s fortune in front Michigan State coach Tom Izzo. Now that Izzo’s declined the offer, however, the Cavaliers go back to square one. Hey there, Kelvin Sampson! According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer , it’s time to take Sampson seriously: The Cavs coaching situation is wide open at this point. He adds that Kelvin Sampson, formerly the coach at Indiana University and currently an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks, is a legitimate candidate. It’s a throwaway note, but worth remembering. There are only so many “superstar” coaches out there, and until LeBron James commits to stay in Cleveland, it’s a longshot for the Cavs to land any of them. But in Sampson, the Cavs could land a well-respected coach for a modest salary, and he’s someone that’s likely to accept the job regardless of what James decides in two weeks. It’s still early, but don’t count out Kelvin.
