British Soap Awards 2010 Winners

British Soap Awards is an annual awards ceremony to honor the best soap operas.  This awards usually takes place on the month of May. The winners for this year 2010 are as follows: Best Dramatic Performance and Best Actress Lacey Turner – plays Stacey Branning and announced she was quitting the soap this year, scooped two awards – (voted for by the public). Best Single Episode Charlie Clements – played her husband Bradley, scooped Best Exit, for his death in the live episode. Best Actor ans Sexiest Male Scott Maslen – plays Jack Branning The Best Storyline Who Killed Archie Mitchell? Villain of the Year Larry Lamb – played Archie Mitchell Best Newcomer Marc Elliott – plays Syed Masood, a young British Muslim struggling to come to terms with his sexuality ITV’s Coronation Street, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, won three awards. Sexiest Female Michelle Keegan – plays Tina McIntyre Best Comedy Performance Craig Gazey – plays Graeme Proctor, and 89-year-old Betty Driver, who plays barmaid Lifetime Achievement award Betty Williams Daytime soap Doctors won two awards, Best Dramatic Performance From a Young Actor or Actress and Best On-Screen Partnership. Hollyoaks won the Special Scene Of The Year, while Emmerdale almost went away empty-handed, but for writer Bill Lyons being given a Special Achievement award. Tribute was paid to Coronation Street star Maggie Jones, who died last December aged 75. She first played the formidable Blanche Hunt in 1974 and then regularly from 1996 onwards.
