If you are a girl born anytime in the late 70s and early 80s, you better hold the f**king phone. A blast from the past is coming!! Jem and the Holograms is hitting the silver screen, and the trailer has arrived. No, really. Hold it. Things aren’t looking good. Jem and the Holograms Trailer With the release of the trailer yesterday though, there has been a backlash from 30-something-year-old fans of the original cartoon. The live-action movie appears to be a loose interpretation of the story, reinventing Jem as a YouTube sensation. Whaaat? This isn’t Justin freaking Bieber! Only hours after the trailer premiered, viewers picked apart the inconsistencies between the original cartoon Jem and the Jem played by Aubrey Peeples. Jem and the Holograms was a mega-popular cartoon, so one would imagine there would be a lot of positive attention surrounding the upcoming film. But the YouTube video of the preview has five times as many down votes as up votes. As of this morning, all of the top comments were negative critiques about the upcoming adaptation.
