According to reports, the firearm went off , sending pieces of glass and metal into his face and brain. FOXSanAntonio reports: The accident happened just after 11 p.m. Monday on Shasta Avenue near Pleasant Road on the South Side. Police said the 16-year-old was playing with a loaded 9mm gun and taking pictures when he shot the phone causing the glass and shrapnel to hit his eye and face. Police are still investigating , but the good news is the teen is in stable condition, although the shards penetrated his brain.
