Welcome to Hollywood Ink… in 3D!

It’s a stereoscopic smorgasboard of trade news, coming at you like a N’avi on a banshee or a flying penis out of the mouth of razor-toothed CGI fish. This isn’t the cheap, knock-off stuff either, so keep your judgments to yourself, James Cameron ; today’s Hollywood Ink was conceived in 3D, produced in 3D, and commences after the jump in glorious 3D. Early Emmy Ratings Slightly Better Than Last Year

According to very early estimates , last night’s Emmy Awards telecast was watched in 10.1 percent of all households. That number is up from last year’s 10 household rating, meaning one-tenth of a percent more of the possible households in America decided to watch the Emmys. Progress! [ THR /The Live Feed ]

Blockbuster has told Hollywood movie studios that they plan on filing for Chapter 11 next month with the hopes of restructuring a “crippling debt load of nearly $1 billion” and escaping the leases on at least 500 of their 3,425 stores. Guess I should return that copy of My Cousin Vinny before it’s too late. [ LAT ]

Don’t Ask Gerard Depardieu to Join the Juliette Binoche Fan Club

I know, I know: When you think of Gerard Depardieu, the very first thing that comes to mind is the kindly French chef he played in the Queen Latifah vehicle Last Holiday . (After that, maybe My Father the Hero ?) Sadly, he is not at all like that character, as his cruel, out-of-nowhere remarks about French compatriot Juliette Binoche prove.
