Watch Kristen Stewart And Charlize Theron Face Off In ‘Snow White’ Video!

‘MTV First’ shares exclusive preview of epic showdown. By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal An exclusive, never-before-seen clip from the upcoming film ” Snow White and the Huntsman ” kicked off “MTV First” by teasing an epic showdown between Kristen Stewart ‘s titular princess and Charlize Theron ‘s Evil Queen Ravenna. As thrilling as the sneak preview might have been, it left fans dying to know what happens when the two enemies finally do square off when the film hits theaters June 1. The clip does give a little more insight into the beef between Ravenna and Snow White: Obviously, the Queen wants to be fairest of them all, but the death of Snow White’s father certainly adds an emotional element to the bout. In the scene, we learn that the Queen is responsible. When MTV News’ Josh Horowitz spoke with Theron at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in January, the Academy Award-winning actress seemed impressed with her co-stars fighting spirit. “She was a good fight,” Theron shared. “The bitch brought it!” Even though Theron was able to put up a fight against Stewart, she was no match for her unwieldy costumes , which might have done more damage. “The costumes were more damaging than the actual fight sequences,” she explained. “I was way more bruised from my costume than I was from [fighting]. Doing a fight sequence in your sweatpants is different than wearing an 80-pound steel thing.” At the very least, Theron could commiserate with her co-star. “[Stewart] was in full metal, I was in full metal, just getting down, it took us four hours,” Theron said. Film-to-Film: Academy Earmarks $2 Million for Film Preservation

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is expanding its efforts to safeguard film history: As part of its $2 million “Film-to-Film” initiative, prints of titles such as 42nd Street (1933), The Asphalt Jungle (1950), Barry Lyndon (1975), Grease (1978), The Princess Bride (1987) and others have been acquired by the organization that runs the annual Oscars ceremony for preservation. As the industry continues its rapid transition to digital technology , film prints and the film stock are becoming increasingly scarce. The Academy’s Film-to-Film project is intended to take advantage of the remaining availability of celluloid stock to preserve a diverse slate of important works on film. Between 1992 and the launch of the Film-to-Film project last year, the Academy Film Archive had preserved approximately 1,000 titles. Since 2011, the archive has preserved or acquired about 300 titles, including feature films, documentaries, experimental works, shorts and the home movies of Hollywood luminaries. Titles AMPAS has undertaken include Sleuth (1972), which earned four Academy Award nominations; The Cardinal (1963), which earned six nominations including Best Director and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Otto Preminger and John Huston, respectively; and Cock of the Air (1932), a comedy produced by Howard Hughes prior to the advent of the Production Code Administration. Experimental and avant-garde works by such filmmakers as Stan Brakhage, Will Hindle, Nina Menkes, Penelope Spheeris as well as reels of home movies from the collections of Steve McQueen, Esther Williams, William Wyler, Sam Fuller and James Wong Howe are also part of AMPAS’s initiative. The program’s projects are being conducted in partnership with other institutions, including the UCLA Film &Television Archive and the British Film Institute, as well as other archives in countries including Hungary, Norway, Sweden and Japan.

Lindsay Lohan Face of the Day

Since Lohan’s face is morphing every day….I like to take snapshots of the weirder moments and send them to her over text. She never answers….maybe she changed her number – or maybe she doesn’t find it as entertaining as I do…you know cuz usually when someone is injecting their face full of shit, ruining their loveliness, becoming what looks like a circus clown, they don’t like to admit it….or accept it…or take it to the cancer ward to humor little kids dying, RIP ADAM YAUCH…..They instead like to pretend it is beautiful and that they look good cuz they don’t have to look at it, in denial…and that’s okay too….as long as they bring the entertainment, I don’t care how they rationalize it….sure I’d prefer if her great tits were in the mix…but you can’t have everything…and in my case…I can’t have anything….that’s just how life worked itself out…. The rumor is she’s back with Ronson, the truth is she’s ignoring me, I’m a purist and appreciate all that is Lohan….I take the lows and the highs that come with her….and I anxiously await her Academy Award speech, shutting all you haters up…. Are We Any Closer To a Stunt Coordinator Oscar Category?

ActionFest , the annual all-action-movie film festival in Asheville, N.C., honored stunt coordinator Jack Gill this weekend with its Man of Action Award. Gill used the platform to discuss his ongoing campaign to add an Oscar category for stunt coordinators, explaining to a panel audience why it’s taken 21 years — and how he’s talking to the voting Academy members of a special committee, one by one — to convince them that stunt professionals are artists just like other film technicians honored on Hollywood’s biggest night. Speaking to Movieline after the panel, Gill (whose credits include The Dukes of Hazzard , Knight Rider , Con Air , Bad Boys II , Redbelt , and Fast Five ) cited several of the Academy’s concerns — including the impression that technology will eventually make stunt coordinators obsolete. “I think they’re such an old-school type company,” he said, “that they’ve gotten to where they’re now afraid if they put a stunt coordinator category and then five years down the line, digital effects take over everything, what do they now do with the stunt coordinator category?” But, Gill added, even digital milestones like Avatar rely heavily on stunt coordinators. “We’ve proven over the years that it’s really not going to go away.” During the panel, Gill also explained that he’s not asking for individual stunt men to get Oscars. The stunt coordinator is the artist who pulls off the dangerous fights, crashes and explosions and keeps everybody safe. And pretty much all the Best Picture nominees have a stunt coordinator, whether they’re action or drama films. As such, Gill has proposed one nominee per movie to an Academy leadership that votes on new categories every year in a closed meeting. The only way to change voters’ minds, he said, is to convince every single member that stunt coordinators deserve an award. And while you may be thinking, “Who needs a longer Oscars?”, Gill even offered to keep the stunt Oscars out of the main show and give them out during the red carpet pre-show. The Academy didn’t go for that. I suggested to Gill that stunts be included in the scientific and technical awards, which are pre-recorded and shown in a montage on Oscar night. “We tried that too,” Gill replied. “We tried to go in the technical awards and they also dumped us on that. They said if they were going to try and get us in, the scientific awards would be an option, but it just doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s the vote that’s the problem.” Indeed, Gill said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson has been amenable to discussions, as was Bruce Davis before her. It’s a matter of educating individual voters — a cause that, after more than two decades of effort, may yet find its tipping point in social media and such events like Actionfest, which itself plans to start a campaign to get stunt fans involved in the Oscar movement. Kate Winslet Says Her Acting ‘Could’ve Been Better’ In ‘Titanic’

‘I think I look nicer now,’ actress adds to MTV News at London premiere of film’s 3-D version. By Fallon Prinzivalli Kate Winslet at the “Titanic 3D” premiere Photo: Getty Images Kate Winslet has had a rough journey with “Titanic” premieres in the past. She missed the 1997 world premiere at Mann’s Chinese Theatre when her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Tredre , tragically died of cancer. During the U.K. premiere, she was in the hospital suffering from dysentery she contracted in Morocco while filming “Hideous Kinky.” But as “Titanic” sets sail again 15 years later in 3-D, Winslet finally made a long overdue red-carpet appearance at the London premiere on Tuesday. MTV News caught up with the Academy Award-winning actress to find out how it feels to see the movie again in a new dimension. “It feels amazing,” Winslet said. “I mean, it is a very strange experience because it’s a long time since I’ve seen the film in its entirety.” In 1997, the retelling of the ship’s disaster dominated the box office, raking in more than $600 million. The film stands strong as the second-highest-grossing box-office hit in the United States. But Winslet isn’t worried about moviegoers and fans passing up the opportunity to see it in theaters again. While she says it looks different, she also believes it’s much bigger, in a way. “It looks very different. I mean, it’s still as wonderful and as epic as it always was. But it does feel bigger, you know, bigger somehow even than it did then, so it’s very exciting,” she said. Having seen Rose again on the big screen, Winslet is critical of herself in the role, suggesting that there are things she would change if she could play the part all over again. “My American accent could’ve been much better. My acting could’ve been a lot better,” she said. Her Oscar nomination for the role says otherwise. And as far as seeing herself in 3-D, she’s happier with the way she looks now. “I think I look nicer now,” she said. “I prefer myself as a 36-year-old. It’s really weird ’cause when you’re 21 you think, ‘Oh God, when I’m 36, oh God, that’s nearly 40 and I’ll look really old and wrinkly by then.’ And actually I quite like the way I look. I feel OK about myself these days.” Audiences will be able to relive the story as the 3-D version of “Titanic” hits theaters on April 4.
