‘Harry Potter’ Filming Wraps — For The Last Time

‘Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic!’ co-star Warwick Davis tweets after shooting final ‘Deathly Hallows’ scene. By Terri Schwartz Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” Photo: Warner Bros. It’s the end of an era. Warwick Davis said it best when he tweeted on Saturday from the set of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” once director David Yates had wrapped shooting on the “Potter” franchise — for the last time — after 10 years. “The end of an Era — today is officially the last day of principal photography on ‘Harry Potter’ — ever,” wrote Warwick, who is also known for his work in “Star Wars” and “Willow.” “I feel honoured to be here as the director shouts cut for the very last time. Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic! X … and goodbye Griphook!” Davis is known to “Potter” fans as Hogwarts Professor Flitwick, but in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” director Chris Columbus also cast the actor as a “goblin bank teller” at the wizard bank, Gringotts. Davis’ teller comes to the aid of Harry Potter and his half-giant guardian Hagrid in the 2001 film. And that goblin, Griphook, has a larger, more pivotal role in “Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” It had long been announced that the final scene to be filmed at the end of “Deathly Hallows,” would be a flash-forward epilogue, but it appears some scenes needed to be re-shot from either the ( spoilers ahead ) rescue of Griphook from Malfoy Manor or the break-in at Gringotts, both major scenes featuring Griphook in “Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” To celebrate the end of filming, Rupert Grint showed up to set in his “Mr. Whippy” old school ice cream truck and served up scoops to the cast and crew. “It brought a smile to everyone’s face on what was a very emotional day,” Davis wrote on Twitter. Are you sad to see the “Potter” series coming to an end? Let us know in the comments! Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. The Tony Awards Use Hollywood Stars and Glee to Great Effect

If you flipped over to the Tony Awards at any moment last night, the chances are good you probably thought it was the Oscars. Or the MTV Movie Awards. Scarlett Johannson won for Best Featured Actress in a play for A View From a Bridge and gave a shout out to her husband, Ryan Reynolds; Catherine Zeta-Jones — remember her? — won for Best Actress in a Musical for A Little Night Music and gave a shout out to her husband, Michael Douglas; and Denzel Washington won for Best Actor in a Play for Fences and — well, pretty much just stammered. And that’s to say nothing of the audience, which included Will Smith, Jay-Z and Beyonce. Oh and Green Day performed. All that was missing was Justin Bieber! And with that reference, here comes Glee stars Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison to perform. Video after the jump.

‘Stretch Armstrong’ Writer ‘Gets’ Taylor Lautner Obsession

‘That is one good-looking man,’ Nicholas Stoller tells MTV News of ‘Eclipse’ star. By Josh Wigler Taylor Lautner Photo: Cohen/ WireImage Although he’s currently best known for playing hunky werewolf Jacob Black in “The Twilight Saga,” Taylor Lautner is about to stretch his acting chops significantly with an all-new action franchise. “Stretch Armstrong,” based on the action figure property from Hasbro, follows a special agent who suddenly finds himself with the superpower ability to extend his body beyond normal human limitations. “Get Him to the Greek” writer and director Nicholas Stoller is currently writing the superhero film’s screenplay, but he admitted to MTV News that he has found himself a bit distracted lately. Distracted by what, you ask? None other than Lautner himself! “I had my first meeting with him, and let me tell you: That dude is handsome,” Stoller confessed. “That is one good-looking man. Like, he is — I get it. I get it!” Pressed for further details on his first impressions of Lautner, Stoller said he hasn’t met anyone else in Hollywood who can attract a crowd quite like the “Twilight” sensation does. “At this point in my career, obviously you spend a lot of time with celebrities,” he said. “I’ve never seen more people approach someone [famous]. So many people come up to him, every age and a lot of French people.” Stoller also admitted that while he hasn’t seen Lautner without his shirt on , he certainly wouldn’t mind getting a firsthand look at the actor’s shirtless physique. “I’m not even going to do the whole ‘I’m not gay’ type of thing,” Stoller laughed. “Anyone, it doesn’t matter who you are, would want to see that!” Are you excited to see Taylor as Stretch Armstrong? Or will he always be Jacob Black to you? Share your thoughts in the comments! For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Drake To Star In ‘Gears of War 3’

Grammy-nominated rapper to play alien-battling soldier in Microsoft’s popular shooter franchise. By Russ Frushtick Drake in “Gears of War” Photo: Getty Images/ MTV News In the world of video games, a little star power always helps. Epic Games and Microsoft Game Studios are apparently pushing that celebrity angle for “Gears of War 3,” as they’ve tapped Drake, the Grammy-nominated artist behind the current hit “Find Your Love,” to play one of the game’s main characters, Jace Stratton. “When Epic came to me with the role, I couldn’t pass it up,” the actor-turned-rapper said in a press release. “They’ve created an amazing character in Jace, and I’m looking forward to my tour in Delta Squad.” Jace Stratton only appeared briefly in “Gears of War 2,” and in that game the character was voiced by Nolan North. But the character has played a much more prominent role in the “Gears of War” comic book series. Stratton is one of the four playable characters in “Gears of War 3,” which comes out in 2011, so Drake will get plenty of screen time. Epic Games executive producer Rod Fergusson said in the release that timing was everything when it came to deciding that Drake, whose debut album “Thank Me Later” comes out Tuesday, was right for the part. “[Drake’s EP] ‘So Far Gone’ had just been released, and Drake’s combination of heart and grit was just what we were looking for. Rather than search for somebody who sounded like him, it was clear that we should approach him directly … fortunately he turned out to be a huge fan.” “Gears of War 3” completes the story of Marcus Fenix and his battle against the Locust on the planet of Sera. For the first time in the franchise, the game will support four-player cooperative play throughout the main campaign, in addition to a range of new multiplayer modes and features. MTV News will get its first hands-on with the game during E3 next week, so be sure to check out MTV Multiplayer , which will also have all the latest gaming news and impressions from the show floor. ‘Thor’ Stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman Talk Chemistry In New Video

Portman calls beefed-up leading man ‘a god’ in new video from movie’s set. By Kara Warner Chris Hemsworth Photo: Entertainment Tonight Hot on the heels of the release of the first official photo (and alleged concept art) from “Thor” comes a video report straight from the Santa Fe, New Mexico, set, courtesy of “Entertainment Tonight.” The clip features a charming exchange between two of the film’s stars, Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) : The duo discuss their chemistry and Hemsworth’s impressive build. Portman also expresses delight upon discovering that Hemsworth was on Australia’s version of “Dancing with the Stars.” The topic of Hemsworth’s toughness and physique are played up the video, along with a few brief action scenes. “He’s a god,” Portman says of her co-star, even alluding to his healthy, “big appetite.” Later, Portman pokes fun at herself with a fake teaser: “Chris and that little midget girl, starring in Thor!” Director Kenneth Branagh praised Hemsworth’s dedication to the role, saying the actor worked himself into peak condition. “He took seriously the challenge that had to be taken on by whoever was going to play Thor, to find this combination we wanted of a sort of Herculean strength, and gosh, he’s strong,” Branagh said. “We’ve had him doing all sorts of physical feats on it. Some of it’s practical — lifting people up, lifting two people up, and doing it for a long time over the course of a day. I sort of said, ‘Oh, you’ve got to get your shirt off. Do you mind?’ And he said, ‘Do I mind? I spent six months getting into shape for this! No, I don’t mind!’ ” “It’s pretty exciting,” Hemsworth says in the clip when asked about stepping into the boots of the storied God of Thunder. “The whole thing is surreal.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Thor.” For breaking comic book movie news, columns and more — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . New ‘Bourne’ Movie Planned As Sequel, Not Prequel

Matt Damon’s participation in the fourth “Bourne” film is unclear. By Eric Ditzian Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in “The Bourne Ultimatum” Photo: Jasin Boland/ Universal Studios Call it the Bourne Determination. Despite the participation of star Matt Damon and two-time franchise director Paul Greengrass being in doubt, Universal is pushing forward with plans for a fourth “Bourne” movie, tentatively called “The Bourne Legacy.” And word is that, in contrast to earlier rumors that the new flick would be a reboot or a prequel, “Legacy” will be a straight sequel. According to reports from Variety and Deadline.com , Universal has hired Tony Gilroy to write the script. Gilroy wrote the first three movies and has also been tapped to write a franchise bible, lending credence to the idea that the fourth film is only the beginning of Universal’s big-screen plans for the “Bourne” universe. “Legacy” — which will not be based on “The Bourne Legacy,” an Eric Lustabader-penned novel in the Robert Ludlum series — is looking at a 2012 release date. The news that the forthcoming “Bourne” film will be a sequel comes as something of a surprise. Earlier this year, Damon said the next installment would likely be a prequel . But whether or not Damon and Greengrass will take part in the fourth film is an open question. Back in February, Damon said he wouldn’t reprise the role without Greengrass, who bowed out of his directing duties last fall. Yet both men left the door open to returning to the franchise down the line. “We see a very clear way that they could go [with the story] that wouldn’t interfere with the series that we have and that might give it a chance to have a life right now and if we come back and did another one, even after that without us,” . That “very clear way” seemingly involved rebooting the franchise with another actor taking Bourne’s identity, or name given to a uniquely positioned government operative. Such a storytelling technique would easily allow Damon and Greengrass to reenter the fold in the future. But with Gilroy back in charge of storytelling duties, there’s always the chance that Damon and Greengrass can be enticed to return. As the director himself , he maintains a good relationship with the studio and he plans to work with Damon again. “I’m going to continue to make movies for Universal,” Greengrass told us in March. “I’m going to continue to make movies with Matt hopefully. They’ll undoubtedly continue to make ‘Bourne’ movies. So it’s all good news.”
