With the television and entertainment world reacting in shocked sadness, Lea Michele has spoken out for the first time since Cory Monteith was found dead yesterday in a Vancouver hotel room. Through her rep, the actress – who was dating her Glee co-star at the time of his passing – said simply: “We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time.” Details of Monteith’s death are still coming in, but the actor – who checked into rehab at the age of 19 and again just this past April – was reportedly out with friends in Canada on Friday. He returned to his hotel room alone, however, and was found by staff members after missing his noon check-out time. The A-lister signed a reported $12 million deal with the brand in March, with fans being promised ” sexually explicit ” ads featuring the Twilight Saga stud. We’re not really sure if this qualifies, considering R. Patt is fully dressed, but he is smiling at some shapely figure by his side. Or at least her bare foot. Might the next scene go a lot further? “A new story is about to start,” reads the Tweet from Dior that accompanied this pic. “Robert Pattinson for Dior Homme Parfum. #DiorRob.” Consider us intrigued.
Jamie Foxx donned a t-shirt in honor of slain teen Trayvon Martin at the BET Awards last night. But the actor says he wasn’t make any kind of political statement with the act. “The reason for the shirt is that I met his mom personally… it’s not political, it’s not left, it’s not right, it’s not black, it’s not white, this is about the kid,” Foxx told Kevin Frazier of The Insider , adding: “For all of us, no matter what color you are… I have kids [one who is] 19. I have a kid who’s 4. You want to protect them.” At the MTV Movie Awards in April, Foxx wore a different shirt with the faces of Martin and the children killed at the Newtown shooting on it. Accompanying those images were the words “Know Justice, Know Peace.” The George Zimmerman trial , meanwhile, is underway with the man accused of murdering Martin claiming he acted in self-defense.
We may not be heading back to the Seven Kingdoms any time soon, but HBO has cast the first major role on Game of Thrones Season 4 . Pedro Pascal – who has appeared on episode of Red Widow, Graceland and The Good Wife – will come on board next year as The Red Viper, the cunning Prince of Dorne who has a score to settle in the Westeros capital: His sister was among those murdered when Mad King Aerys was overthrown by Robert Baratheon and the Lannisters. David Benioff and Dan Weiss told Entertainment Weekly that casting the role was “tough” because the prince is sexy and charming… but also dangerous and inspired by hate. In a fun tease for future episodes, the creators added of The Red Viper: “He wasn’t easy to find and he won’t be easy to stop.”

Among the honors won by Kinky Boots at the show, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris? Best musical, best original score and best leading man. Christopher Durang’s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike won the best play Tony, while Matilda the Musical and Pippin won four awards each. Two other shows, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Nance , shared three awards each, while Tom Hanks’ Lucky Guy came away empty-handed.
