Amanda Bynes: Struggling Amidst Mental Illness Relapse, Source Claims

For Amanda Bynes, the road to recovery has been a long and difficult one with many potholes and detours along the way. Bynes’ struggle with mental illness played out in the public eye, and when she began to show signs of recovery earlier this year, fans rejoiced at the thought of having “the old Amanda” back. Now, it seems their celebrations may have been premature. Sources close to Bynes tell In Touch Weekly that the actress has suffered a “major relapse” and that she’s “struggling to regain control of her life. ” The news comes on the heels of a promising upswing, during which Bynes seemed to be getting the help she needed to repair her career and public image. The positive changes in her Bynes’ behavior began earlier this year. In April, Bynes returned to Twitter following an extended absence from the social media site. Shortly thereafter, she gave her first interview in four years, during which she stated that she’s “doing great,” keeping busy, and looking forward to returning to acting. “I’ve been going to school lately, fashion school, FIDM [the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising], and I love it. I’ve learned how to sew, I make patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future,” Bynes said. “Other than that,” she continued, “I hike, I go spinning, take spinning classes, and I feed the homeless, and that’s been really interesting and fun.” Sources verified that Bynes was once again pursuing an education after taking an extended hiatus: “She began taking classes in the fall, even though she was kicked out before for showing up high as a kite,” said one fellow student. “She seemed upbeat and talked about returning to TV.” Unfortunately, the return to television never took place, and insiders say it’s Bynes’ inability to find work that touched off her latest meltdown. The 31-year-old’s comeback came around the fifth anniversary of DUI arrest that seemed to trigger an extended downward spiral for Bynes. In the months that followed, her drug use increased, and her behavior became more erratic, a pattern that culminated in Bynes being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold and hospitalized for several months. Here’s hoping Amanda can somehow regain that momentum and get back on the road to recovery.

Matt Baier: Devastated Over Amber Portwood’s Pregnancy News!

Have you heard the good news? Or the technically good but still very, very concerning news, as it were? Amber Portwood is pregnant with her second child! After several outlets reported that Amber is expecting a baby with her boyfriend of approximately two seconds, Andrew Glennon, Amber confirmed it herself on Friday. She shared the news on Instagram, saying “I’m very excited for my future with Andrew and our little family we are starting together!” She also did an interview with Us Weekly in which she explained that “When I first found out, I was a little scared,” but “after the initial shock, it was nothing but happy thoughts and just enjoying my time with my boyfriend.” “I just kind of sat down and thought about it and realized that it was a big step in my life and it was a good thing actually, and I was really happy within 30 minutes.” It seems like a very short amount of time to come to terms with all that, but hey, we know that Amber isn’t really one to take things slow. After all, she and Andrew began dating in August , barely three months ago, and she just met the guy in June. It’s also worth mentioning that she met him while filming Marriage Boot Camp, the show she went on to try to save her relationship with Matt Baier. So there was literally no downtime between Matt and Andrew. And it’s not exactly like Andrew was the knight in shining armor who saved her from ol’ douchey Matt, either. Two of Andrew’s ex-girlfriends have restraining orders against him , and they’ve accused him of stalking them. He’s really and truly a creep, and in some ways, he’s even worse than Matt. And hey, since we keep talking about Matt, how do you think he’s handling all of this? Hint: not that well. Radar Online reached out to him to ask him about the pregnancy news, and it sounds like he wasn’t aware of it until they called him — his first response was apparently “You’re kidding.” When he gathered his thoughts, he said “Amber is a great mother. If this is what she wants then I’m extraordinarily happy for her and I wish them nothing but the best.” He also said that while he hasn’t talked to her “at all” since their split, he did plan to “text her congratulations.” As for his own life, he said that he’s “doing great,” and that he’s even got a new significant other himself. It can’t be easy for him though — with as many kids as he has out there and as much as he loved Amber’s fame and money, you’d have to imagine that he wanted to be the one to impregnate her. And as one of his friends explains to Hollywood Life, he really is struggling with this development. It’s because “Matt has a lot of regret about their breakup,” and “he feels like Amber is the one that got away.” “There’s still a part of him that was hoping they might eventually get back together, so this pregnancy news hit him hard.” Aww, poor guy! Except wait, they broke up because he failed a lie detector test , specifically a question about whether or not he made a sexual advance towards another woman. And also because he stole thousands and thousands of dollars from her, and said horrible, humiliating things about her on national television, and tried to control her whole entire life … the list goes on and on. So yeah, it’s definitely a good thing Amber got away from him and cut ties in such a permanent way. Now we just have to hope that Andrew manages to kep his own creeper tendencies at bay, and also that Amber somehow manages to develop some parenting skills in the upcoming months. Then we’ll be set! Uma Thurman: See Her INCREDIBLE Statement on Harvey Weinstein Scandal

For the past month or so, ever since a powerful piece was published in the New York Times, we've been talking an awful lot about Harvey Weinstein. And that's because dozens and dozens of women have come forward to accuse Harvey of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rape . A-listers like Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have spoken out against Weinstein, and actresses like Rose McGowan and Paz de la Huerta have claimed that he raped them . These are just a few examples of the women who have told their stories. And now it's Uma Thurman's turn … well, almost. In an amazing little clip that's gone viral this weekend, Uma spoke to Access Hollywood at a press event for a Broadway show she's starring in called The Parisian Woman. The reporter asked her, as “a powerful woman in film,” what she thought about “women speaking out about inappropriate behavior in the work place.” While she's being asked this, you can sort of see the rage build up — it's pretty intense, to say the least. “I think it's commendable,” Uma began, then she paused for a moment before telling the reporter that she didn't have “a tidy soundbite” for her. “I have learned … I am not a child, and I have learned that when I've spoken in anger, I usually regret the way I express myself,” she said. “So I've been waiting to feel less angry. And when I'm ready, I'll say what I have to say.” It sounds like a pretty tame statement, seeing it in text, but you have to watch the way she delivers it — it's clear that she really is very, very angry, and that she definitely has a story of her own to tell. It makes sense that her story would be about Weinstein, too — he's acted as producer on several films of hers, including Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill movies. And it also makes sense that people really want to hear her story, because really, she just sounds furious even when alluding to it. Actress Asia Argento, one of those many women who have accused Weinstein of sexual assault , tweeted this video of Uma, and she wrote “Dear #UmaThurman may peace be with you and your soul. We need your strong voice, it truly is commanding.” The rest of Twitter loved Uma's statement just as much. “God once spoke through the burning bush,” one person wrote. “This time it's through Uma Thurman.” Another speculated that “If you haven't seen this yet it seems Uma Thurman not only knows where the bodies are buried, but has neatly organized all the shovels.” “Ok let's be real that Uma Thurman video — she's getting a Hanzo sword made and is going to cut up the perverts isn't she,” one person said. #MeToo: Stars Share Stories of Sexual Harassment, Assault

Alyssa Milano and a host of female celebrities are doing what they can on social media to raise awareness about sexual harassment and/or assault. In the wake of the troubling Harvey Weinstein rape allegations , and the ways in which Hollywood has appeared to cover the producer's actions up, Milano has Tweeted a call-to-action. She's asking people to speak out about being sexually harassed or assaulted by replying to her tweet with the words “Me Too.” (According to Twitter, #MeToo has been tweeted nearly half a million times in the past 24 hours.) Mayim Bialik Tries (Fails?) to Clarify Controversial Rape Remarks

Mayim Bialik, star of The Big Bang Theory, finds herself in big trouble this week. That’s what happens after you pen an op-ed for The New York Times in which you essentially blame the victims of sexual assault for getting assaulted. Over the weekend, Bialik really did write a guest article for the aforementioned publication in response to the heinous allegations surrounding Harvey Weinstein . With dozens of women having come out and accused the film producer of sexual misconduct, Bialik took the pompous stance that women need to think about how they look and act if they wish to avoid… rape. “As a proud feminist with little desire to diet, get plastic surgery or hire a personal trainer, I have almost no personal experience with men asking me to meetings in their hotel rooms,” Bialik wrote early in her piece, earning immediate scorn. Just… WHAT?!? Who says any of these abused women got plastic surgery? Or were obsessed with dieting? And, even if they did or they were, how does one then claim – in any tiny way, shape or form – that these interests mean a woman deserves to get assaulted or harassed?!? “If you are beautiful and sexy, terrific,” the actress continued, adding: “But having others celebrate your physical beauty is not the way to lead a meaningful life. “And if – like me – you’re not a perfect 10, know that there are people out there who will find you stunning, irresistible and worthy of attention, respect and love. “The best part is you don’t have to go to a hotel room or a casting couch to find them.” There’s no way to interpret this stance in any way aside from Bialik saying women are somewhat to blame for getting raped. Just act uglier and you’ll be ignored , she’s saying. After getting dragged over the Internet coals for her opinion,  Bialik lashed out at the “vicious” critics and said she would address the topic further in a Facebook Live chat on Monday. In this chat, Bialik made an important distinction. “There is no way to avoid being a victim of assault by what you wear or the way you behave,” she said, explaining that her comments were only in reference to the “culture of Hollywood” that she’s experienced over the years. “I was not speaking about assault and rape in general,” she added. She went on to blame Hollywood instead of the actresses who were assaulted themselves, saying the industry encourages women to “present” themselves in a certain way. “I feel protected in my industry more when I keep parts of myself private,” she said. “It gives a feeling of comfort and a layer of protection, but it does not make you immune to assault.” Bialik also apologized and said she was “deeply, deeply hurt” if any person that is actually has been a victim of assault thought she was blaming them in any way. Many did.  Stars such as Patricia Arquette and Gabrielle Union Tweeted in protest of Bialik, sharing their deeply personal stories of rape and assault in order to prove clothing played no role in what happened to them. So at least the actress has tried here to clarify her comments. And, look, perhaps there is some kind of column to write about Hollywood’s standards of beauty and how they place stressful burdens on young female stars. But that issue wasn’t at play in the case of Harvey Weinstein being a grotesque monster. And it’s certainly not what Mayim Bialik  wrote about in her op-ed. Julia Louis-Dreyfus Thanks Fans for Support, Has Coolest Son Ever

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has the love and support of Hollywood, her fans and, most adorably of all, her son. On Thursday, the record-breaking Emmy Award winner shocked the entertainment industry when she confirmed she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer . The beloved star learned of this illness the day after she won yet another Lead Actress in a Comedy trophy for her hilarious role on Veep. “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” Dreyfus wrote on Twitter, adding a plug for universal health care to her stunning admission: “The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. “The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.” Dreyfus husband Brad Hall have two sons together, one of whom shared a precious tribute to his famous mother one day after the world learned of her diagnosis. “I couldn’t be more thankful for the outpouring of support for my mom yesterday,” Tweeted Henry Hall, along with a throwback photo that he pretended was taken last year. “Love to you all,” he concluded. Responded Dreyfus: “I’m thankful, too. And also thankful for my dear boy with good manners.” Sort of wants to make you melt into a million pieces right there on the spot, doesn’t it? It hasn’t just been her immediate family members who has reached out to Dreyfus, of course. You’d be hard pressed to find a more respected television actress in Hollywood. “@OfficialJLD so sorry you have to go thru this, pal, but I know you will prevail. We are here if/when you need and we love you,” Tweeted Jason Alexander, who co-starred for years opposite Dreyfus on Seinfeld. The legendary actress also received social media support from her Veep cast members Timothy Simons and Diedrich Bader, who play Jonah Ryan and Bill Ericsson, respectively. “All our prayers for a complete recovery If love is any help at all, know that you are truly loved,” Bader tweeted. And Simons: “Julia is one of the most talented, most giving, most empathetic people that I’ve had the pleasure to meet. That she takes this news and turns it to help others is of no surprise. Get well, Boss. We love you.” Then there was former Vice President Joe Biden, whose real job Dreyfus has pretended to have on HBO for the past six years. “We Veeps stick together. Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia,” Biden wrote, along with a photograph of himself and the actress in sunglasses. Robin Roberts, meanwhile, is one of several celebrities who have overcome her own breast cancer diagnosis. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen: It’s Over! After TEN YEARS!

One of Hollywood’s most stable, long-term couple is no more. We must sadly pour one out for Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen. After nearly a decade together – that’s 10 years!!!! – the actor and the actress have gone their separate ways, sources confirm to Us Weekly. One insider tells the tabloid that the split isn’t exactly new. In fact, the couple hasn’t even been living in the same country for several weeks now! “She’s full-time back in L.A. He’s in Toronto,” says this insider. “They’ve been on the outs for a couple of months.” Might they get back together, though? There must have been very strong feelings involved if they were an item for such a long period of time, so perhaps a reconciliation is in the cards and this is just a non-romantic blip? “They are completely, officially done ,” the source adds. Oh. Okay then. The stars met on set of their 2008 film Jumper and got engaged that December after a fairly brief courtship. However, they quietly called off their engagement in August 2010… only to get back together three months later. So there have been some ups and downs in the past, even prior to this apparent nail in their relationship coffin. Bilson and Christensen are parents to a three-year old daughter named Briar Rose, who was born in October of 2014. Their little girl’s name is a nod to the pair’s mutual affection of Disney. “There’s a Disney reference there I suppose,” Christensen said during an appearance on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family in August of 2015, adding at the time: “The original Sleeping Beauty is called Briar Rose. Rachel – we both love Disney – but Rachel especially was very keen on the name.” Bilson, of course, is best known for roles in beloved teenage soap operas The OC and Hart of Dixie. Christensen, meanwhile, memorably played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. They didn’t talk much about their romance over the years, but Bilson did gush over her man when chatting with Cosmopolitan in 2013. “I’m a really good girlfriend – I always put all that first in my life,” she said. “I’m definitely the person who would make him his favorite dinner to come home to. I love to cook, so we make dinner at home a lot and watch movies.” Okay, so perhaps that more about herself than her man. Maybe that should have signified there were problems at home, huh? Linton sparked the ire of a legion of folks on social media after posting a picture of the couple’s “Great #daytrip to #Kentucky,” her wardrobe tagged with a slew of designer labels including Tom Ford, Roland Mouret, Valentino and Hermes as she and her husband stepped off a government jet. Linton’s clapback is EPIC — largely because her levels of bi**hy snobbery managed to surpass the original post: “Aw!!! Did you think this was a personal trip?! Adorable!” she wrote. “Do you think the US govt paid for our honeymoon or personal travel?! Lololol. Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country?” “I’m pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day ‘trip’ than you did. Pretty sure the amount we sacrifice per year is a lot more than you’d be willing to sacrifice if the choice was yours.” “You’re adorably out of touch. Thanks for the passive aggressive nasty comment. Your kids look very cute. Your life looks cute. I know you’re mad but deep down you’re really nice and so am I. Sending me passive aggressive Instagram comments isn’t going to make life feel better. Linton ultimately deleted the post and turned her account private, but we’re gonna bank on the damage being done already. This isn’t the first time Linton’s turned folks off by being out of touch. Mashable reports that just last year the actress self-published a tone-deaf and delusional memoir In Congo’s Shadow that was so offensive Zambia’s embassy issued a response. Here’s an abstract of the book: Gunshots echoed through the bush and seemed to be getting closer. I couldn’t imagine the awful, sporadic acts of violence that were being committed as the village was ransacked. Fear and anger for the children consumed my thoughts… As the night ticked interminably by, I tried not to think what the rebels would do to the ‘skinny white muzungu with long angel hair’ if they found me. Clenching my jaw to stop my teeth chattering, I squeezed my eyes shut and reminded myself how I’d come to be a central character in this horror story. Seriously? Trump Cuts $200 Million From Teen Pregnancy Programs, Probably Cuz He Couldn’t Get Laid As A Teen

  WENN Donald Trump’s Administration Just Cut $200 Million From Teen Pregnancy Programs In not so surprising news, Trump and his administration have cut a huge amount of money from funding for teen pregnancy programs, $213.6 Million to be exact. These budget cuts amount to two years’ worth of funding from five-year grants that were given to these same programs by the Obama administration two years ago, designed to help find scientifically proven ways to help teens avoid unwanted pregnancy. The annual grant letter sent to the Federal Office of Adolescent Health this year began with the following sentence: “this award also shortens the project period to end June 30, 2018, at the end of this budget year,” though the initial end date when rewarded was said to be 2020. Those affected by these cuts include the Chicago Department of Public Health, the University of Southern California, and the Healthy Teen Network in Baltimore. Though teen pregnancy rates have been steadily declining since 1990, and were at a record low in 2016,  the U.S. teen pregnancy rate is still the highest among developed countries. So shoutout to Trump and his administration for taking a step in the wrong direction and cutting spending when we really need it. Is his term over yet???
