Ricky Martin, who has dodged questions of his sexuality for years now, officially revealed that he is a gay man in a statement on his website earlier today. The Puerto Rican singer,, who is planning to write a memoir about his life, says the birth of his twin sons (via surrogate) led to his decision to come out. Ricky’s kids were born in August 2008, and similar to Clay Aiken, he says he did not want to live a lie while raising a child … in Ricky’s case two of them. His coming out statement is well-written and at times poignant. You have to respect the honesty and emotion behind it, along with Martin’s reasoning … “A few months ago I decided to write my memoirs, a project I knew was going to bring me closer to an amazing turning point in my life. From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside. Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And this is something worth celebrating. Drake Says Jay-Z Gives Him ‘Different’ And ‘Influential’ Advice

By Shaheem Reid Drake Photo: MTV News It was Jay-Z that alerted Timbaland to Drake’s skills , and Drizzy himself said that when he talks with Hov, the Jiggaman drops wisdom on various subjects. Drake and Jay collaborated for a record called “Light Up” off of the 23-year-old newcomer’s Thank Me Later LP. “It’s just me and Jay both rapping on it for an extended period of time,” Drake told MTV News on the set of his video for “Over.” “It’s real rap. It’s real rap. I do sing on it, but it’s just on the hook — but it’s rap. It’s great. The perspective, the dynamic on the track — it’s me and Jay’s relationship on the song, basically. When you hear it, people will be like, ‘Oh man.’ That’s how we are — just the two. He definitely has guided me a lot, as far as his words and his advice. We have a real funny rapport. I always enjoy my conversations with Jay. It’s good.” Drake also said the jewels Jay drops on him are almost like the advice Lil Wayne gives, but different. “Sort of the same thing. [Jay] does it in this way — when Jay says something, it’s different from anyone else. It just means that much more. Jay just has this aura about him. It’s like, ‘That’s why you’re Jay-Z.’ For a guy like me who grew up wanting to be Jay-Z, it’s influential — it’s very, very influential. We have great conversations. Just life. I’m not an AWOL type of character that you have to sit down and instruct. I’m pretty aware of myself and how to go through this whole process. Ke$ha Hopes Her ‘American Idol’ Performance Was ‘Infectious’

She also weighs in on her ‘Idol’ faves: ‘I’m rooting for anyone who stands for something and who can be honest and genuine.’ By Jocelyn Vena Ke$ha Photo: Andreas Rentz/ Getty Images On Wednesday night, Ke$ha, along with her pals 3OH!3 , hit the “American Idol” stage with their song “Blah Blah Blah.” The performance included dancing with TV heads and Ke$ha donning a Native American headdress while bouncing around the stage. How does Ke$ha think the performance went? “Well, I never really know, but I think it went pretty well from what I’ve heard from family members and friends and stuff,” she told MTV News via phone Thursday (March 18). ” … I think it came across like we were just having a good time onstage, like, just playing dress-up. And I was kind of making an ass of myself at the end, but whatever. I was having a good time. I hope it was infectious.” As for her look, which included a silver top, hot pants and the aforementioned headdress, she said she took the advice of a certain Talking Heads frontman. “I just want to inspire people to have a good time, and I feel like if I’m being irreverent, it inspires people to have the freedom to be themselves,” she said. “David Byrne said, ‘Everything onstage needs to be much bigger.’ Maybe I wouldn’t be wearing an armored bustier just on the street, but on the stage, I wanted to look like a warrior for irreverence and dance commander.” With the performance behind her, who is Ke$ha rooting for on “Idol”? “I don’t know anybody’s names but the blond dude that I’m rooting for,” she said of Casey James. “I also thought the chick that got voted off [ Lacey Brown ], I thought she was pretty while singing, which I haven’t figured out — how to look cool while singing — but she looked pretty while singing. I was impressed.” While Ke$ha thinks everyone deserves a chance during the competition, she just hopes that whomever wins can live up to the “Idol” name. “I think that ‘idol’ is a pretty intense word to describe a human being, and you should definitely be able to sing to be an idol,” she said. “You have to have a particular message, whatever that may be. Aiden Chase, the new manager of Heidi Montag after she fired Spencer Pratt, knows that not everybody’s on board with his profession – “healer and intuitive.” Whatever the hell that means. Chase says he helps people feel better about themselves and guide the future, which he can often see. He also says he has an ability to communicate with spirits. Including dead celebrities. Does that mean he can speak with Heidi Montag ‘s singing career then? Oh, we totally went there. Anyway, how did Aiden meet her? “One of my clients referred me to Spencer and Heidi,” he says. “Just after Heidi’s plastic surgery , doing healing work, energy clearing … helping put their future paths on the map. For about a month, Heidi has been asking me: ‘Be my manager.'” “When I really thought about it, really meditated, I realized I have been doing the job anyway. They had been consulting with me. It had been working for them.” Heidi Montag gets her advice from “healer” Aiden Chase. “I’m a healer and intuitive . What that means is I’m able to channel healing energy. How I like to describe that is love energy. How your mom wipes your brow and you feel better – she’s actually sending her healing energy to you.” “What we do with a healing is we set an intention and put that into effect by stating or saying: If you ask for it, it will come. I channel in the energy and it neutralizes what needs to be cleared, whether it be mind, body or spirit.” So basically, he charges an insane amount of money to blow smoke up people’s a$$es. Not a bad gig. Dude actually insists he can speak to the dead, too. Really. “Gene Kelly is one,” he says. “He represented himself to me.” “I kind of got a picture in my head of him. One of my iPods just switched to different songs, which is an interesting paranormal phenomenon, and on came a song from An American in Paris . I was like: ‘Oh. I listened and paid attention.'” “‘Hey, brother boy, this is Gene Kelly, I’m here to help you.'” She may have actually been better off with Spencer.

Tiger Woods Hires Ari Fleischer as PR Guru; Likely to Return to Golf This Month

Tiger Woods has summoned Ari Fleischer, former adviser and White House Press Secretary under George W. Bush, to be his PR man as he plots his return strategy. According to the New York Post, Woods is planning to compete at the Arnold Palmer Invitational March 25 in Orlando, and Fleischer is on board with the planning. “They were in his living room this week going over strategy in two weeks,” a source said, noting that “I would be shocked if he didn’t play the Arnold Palmer.” Palmer himself reportedly has told confidants that Tiger Woods is definitely playing. Quietly, the people running the tournament are preparing for a media crush. As for Ari Fleischer’s role? How involved the former Bush aide will be remains to be seen, but appears he is a big part of the healing process that began with Woods’ apology speech February 19. Can Ari Fleischer rebuild the Tiger Woods brand? Knowing he eventually has to stand before people publicly and take questions, which he didn’t then, is why Woods sought out the advice of the renowned spin doctor. After resigning his White House post, he formed Ari Fleischer Sports Communications, focusing on crisis response and control, in partnership with IMG Sports agency. Woods is repped by IMG (and has been counseled by Obama and Clinton ). Before his admission to using steroids, disgraced baseball star Mark McGwire was advised by Fleischer. He also advised the Green Bay Packers following their messy divorce with Brett Favre, and the NCAA on how to repair the image of college football’s BCS. Good luck with that one. On one hand, Fleischer has his work cut out after everything Tiger did to sabotage his own image. On the other hand, Tiger’s already back together with Elin Woods , and it’s not like his current handlers could possibly have done a worse job.

The new cast of Dancing with the Stars is filled with more familiar names than usual. Kate Gosselin? Erin Andrews ? Jake Pavelka? These people have been in the news for months. But on the professional side, there’s someone who is a total stranger to anyone that’s not a hardcore dance enthusiast: Damian Whitewood . This Australian will make his DWTS debut on March 22. He’s partered with Pamela Anderson and we can report the following facts about Whitewood: He’s spent the last few years touring with a production of “Burn the Floor.” He’s represented Australia in the Worlds Youth Latin in Germany, the Worlds Youth Ballroom in Russia and was a semifinalist at the Blackpool International Championships in Great Britain. He’s appeared on Dancing With The Stars Down Under, as well as on the Australian version of So You Think You Can Dance . Based on this resume, it doesn’t sound like Damian needs our advice. But we have this word to the Samba-ing wise: wear a mouthpiece. Anderson’s breasts could be dangerous weapons.

Some Career Advice for the Millennials [Millennials]

“It took me a year and a half to realize that I’m not just going to stumble into a great job,” the Brown ’07 grad told Newsweek . Did Career Services forget to tell you about the paradigm shift? Well, let me clarify—it’s like half paradigm shift and half millennial Ivy League naivete. Adrian Muniz, who is 25 years old, has spent the last three years working in “high-end retail stores” and doing internships; the article doesn’t say whether he’s managed to find a job yet. But considering he graduated when things weren’t yet terrible , and they are now, for college graduates wanting to get into traditional media, absolutely horrible , I would guess that he does not yet have a job. Usually when stories like this run, people like me who are older than 25 get to feel all smarmy, like didn’t this kid know what was happening, why did he think that just because he went to Brown that he was going to get a job right away, he’s got to learn sometime that life is hard, doesn’t he realize that it was never easy to get a paying job in media in New York, maybe he should have gone somewhere that gives out grades, etc. And it’s true, I am feeling all of those things! But I am also feeling like this paradigm shift of which I speak is real, and it means that whereas before it was difficult but not impossible to get an editorial assistant job at a fancy publication where they still have expense accounts and such, it is now difficult if not impossible, and in fact, probably increasingly undesirable. It means that this Muniz fellow should forget about the “media internships” and “high-end retail” jobs and do something else, where he will actually make some money and gain some life experience, and that does not include starting a Tumblr. Get out of New York, do something that no one else has done, and then we can talk. In fact, that is going to be my advice from now on for everyone in college who emails me about internships and jobs and advice: Don’t come to New York until you’re at least 26.

I guess Kimmy Stewart’s half minute of fame from being Rod Stewart’s neglected daughter with a drug addiction is officially over, because the paparazzi listed this picture of this fucking battered looking girl with Sean Stewart as her,but then again I guess these could be of her, because they are the experts and I don’t really remember what she looks like, I kinda feel like Rod Stewart when he was reunitied with her after 10 years of neglecting her, rockin’ the globe and fucking models, having orgies, making millions of women wet in their panties while making millions, instead of teaching her how to ride a bike, or giving her advice about boys, or whatever it is that dad’s do when they aren’t stepfather’s who play bikini fashion show….like me… Either way, if it is her, she looks horrible and her brother is a little “too close to her” and if it isn’t her then Sean Stewart’s gotta learn how to spend his daddy’s money better, and he can start by seducing fresh faced hot bitches who fantasize about the lifestyle he can offer them.
