The Office has found its man. Sort of. Having killed on the season seven finale as cocky branch manager candidate Robert California, Emmy winner James Spader has been announced as a new regular on that NBC sitcom. However, producer Paul Lieberstein says Spader will not have the job once held by Steve Carell’s Michael Scott. Instead, he’ll sky-rocket up to CEO of Dunder Mifflin’s parent company. Describing California as a “high-class weirdo Jedi warrior,” Lieberstein said in a statement that “he’ll have been hired over the summer as the new manager, but within hours, got himself promoted.” As a result, the task of replacing Scott in the office itself will fall to Dwight, Jim or Andy. Charlie Sheen is most assuredly in need of anger management. And it sounds like the actor is actually gonna get, but not in the way we expected. Multiple sources confirm that Sheen has found his next project: a sitcom based on the atrocious 2003 movie Anger Management , which starred Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson. Anger Management Trailer Producer Joe Roth, who worked with Sheen on a number of films, including Major League , will take charge of the new series. It will feature Sheen as a counselor of defendants in need of a new, relaxed view on life, similar to how Nicholson’s character dealt with Sandler in the aforementioned film. Of course, Sheen himself will posses a few anger issues. There’s no official deal and no network has picked up the show yet. Sheen will next appear on the small screen, roasted to holy heck , on Comedy Central.
Shaquille O’Neal retired from the NBA this month. Considering the superstar’s charisma and love of attention, anyone who has followed his career can’t help but wonder: What will he do next? Now, however, we find ourselves asking: What the heck did he do before? Specifically, on the night of February 11, 2008? TMZ has broken what could be a mammoth story, detailing the arrest of seven gang members who are accused of kidnapping a man named Robert Ross on that date. Law enforcement officials report that Ladell Rowles – a member of the Main Street Mafia Crip and a friend of O’Neal’s – led the group, drawing guns on Ross outside a convenience store, ordering him to drive them to Rowles’ house and then pistol whipping him until he turned over a sex tape of Shaquille and a mistress, allegedly filmed when O’Neal was married. The seven individuals have been arrested and charged with robbery (they supposedly stole $15,000 from Ross, along with other items) and kidnapping; they are currently sitting in jail, awaiting a hearing. A sex tape was never recovered, but this is where it comes into play: Ross and Shaq were business partners a few years ago. Sources say the former had a deal in place with the latter’s record label in which he’d receive 50% of the cut from any artist he brought in. HOWEVER, Ross claims he delivered Ray J to the company and was screwed out of the deal. (Did you doubt that Ray J would play a role in any sex tape-related tale?) Following their falling out, Ross told police that he threatened to release a video of Shaq and a mistress unless he received payment. Ross alleged the video was shot in his home, with a “security camera,” after O’Neal used the residence to have a fling. But the camera recycles occasionally and the tape was erased. There’s actually one final twist to this story: After Shaunie O’Neal separated from Shaq, Ross says he began seeing her! Shaq reportedly used a private investigator to catch the pair together. Courteney Cox has handled her separation from David Arquette with impressive maturity, supporting the actor through tough times and admissions of sex with other women . Which is why we were a bit surprised to hear Cox join Arquette for a raunchy, in-depth interview with Howard Stern Thursday afternoon. She was asked about her ex-husband’s sexual appetite and said it actually contributed to their split. “Whenever I would need consoling from David, he could not literally put his arm around me for one second without completely getting a boner,” Cox said. Arquette defended himself by saying on air: “I’m always ready for [Courteney]. I know I’m more in touch with what she needs now…She takes one sort of thing and she clumps it [and says] that’s what happens all the time in our relationship. It’s not really true.” Is there for a future for this couple? It does sound that way, as Cox insists she hasn’t slept with anyone since they took a break and added: “The truth of the matter is that we love each other so much. We have such affection for each other but we are very different.”
During his tour stops around the country, Charlie Sheen has made it clear: he wants to return to Two and a Half Men , even telling a crowd in NYC that he’d be willing to write an apology to Chuck Lorre. There’s just one problem: Warner Brothers does not want the actor back, and it’s sick of him implying there’s any possibility of the company reuniting with the star. Will viewers ever see Charlie Harper again? Warner Brothers has actually sent a letter to Sheen’s lawyer that says Charlie’s “statements” about negotiating for a return “are false.” It adds: “As you know, there have been no discussions, there are no discussions and there will be no discussions, regarding his returning to or having any involvement with the series.” Naturally, Sheen’s attorney, Marty Singer, sees things differently. He tells TMZ “there WERE discussions” with Warner Brothers,” slamming the aforementioned letter as “absolutely false.” “There have been discussions as late as Tuesday, and all parties have been involved – Warner Bros., CBS, Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen,” says Singer. ‘It was really fun to film,’ Victoria Justice says of the ‘Blow’ singer’s cameo. Ke$ha Photo: Fotonoticias/ Getty Images Ke$ha will make an appearance on the hit Nickelodeon series “Victorious.” And while the role won’t have the pop singer stretching her acting muscle too much — she’ll be playing herself — someone else in the Sebert (that’s her real last name) clan also is getting in on the action. Ke$ha will be joined on the episode of the sitcom by her little brother, Louie. The plot will revolve around Tori — played by the show’s star, Victoria Justice — and her pals trying to win a contest to go to a Ke$ha concert. The gang must piece together golden tickets in order to win their chance to see the “Blow” singer in a private gig. It seems that 11-year-old Louie provides the winning piece so that they can watch the glittered one perform the aforementioned track. “It’s a private concert, and yeah, I will say that the costumes are awesome and there’s definitely lots of glitter,” Justice told EW.com, which first reported on the episode. “It was really fun to film. It’s the first time on my show that we’ve had a successful radio artist perform on the show. Ke$ha’s kind of edgier, and I think that it’s cool to bring that element to the show.” “Victorious” made its big debut last spring. When MTV News caught up with Justice at that time, the teen actress admitted that the show’s fun vibe made it possible for anything to happen. “I play a girl named Tori Vega and she’s kind of suddenly accepted to this performance arts high school, and from there it’s her dealing with all these crazy characters that go there and normal teen problems, like trying to fit in and cute boys,” Justice explained. “I also get to perform original music and sing and dance.
