Nicki Minaj recently commented on the feud between Chris Brown and Drake, her Young Money label-mate, by claiming that she “doesn’t approve” of the beef. The now-infamous Chris Brown-Drake fight that broke out last month at an NYC club left many injured and got the establishment shut down in the aftermath. All over Rihanna too, allegedly. Speaking to the BBC, Nicki weighed in: “I don’t approve of talented people doing things that aren’t conducive to an amazing career. I spoke to Drake, and I told him from the bottom of my heart how I felt.” “I’m like, ‘Baby, you are a superstar, and I need you to realize that.” Speaking to Tim Westwood on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, Minaj revealed that, although she thought Drake was innocent, he still needed to be careful of his reputation.” “He did nothing wrong, of course. Rumors are rumous, and that there’s what it is. Sometimes, you just need to go to bed. Go to the hotel and have an early nap.” “At the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong with that.” Words to live by, Drizzy. Words to live by. Whose side are you on in the feud? [Photos: WENN.com]
The University of Arkansas has fired head football coach Bobby Petrino after he attempted to conceal, and later admitted to an “inappropriate relationship” with his recently hired 25-year-old employee, Jessica Dorrell. Petrino’s relationship with Dorrell lasted a “significant” amount of time, and at one point, Petrino gave her $20,000 out of his own pocket as a “gift.” Dorrell, a former Arkansas volleyball player (below), was hired by Petrino on March 28, only four days before both were involved in a motorcycle crash on a rural road outside the city, prompting the coach to lie but ultimately exposing Petrino’s affair . Jessica Dorrell, who reportedly called off an engagement one week before the accident, has hired a lawyer and could sue for sexual harassment. As the story unfolded after Petrino crashed his motorcycle 10 days ago, many Arkansas faithful came to their coach’s defense, rallying to show support and pleading with the administration to forgive Petrino and move forward. But in the end, Bobby Petrino accepted the fate he earned – dismissal. In a statement, issued after the announcement, Petrino was contrite: The simplest response I have is: I’m sorry . These two words seem very inadequate. But that is my heart. All I have been able to think about is the number of people I’ve let down by making selfish decisions. I’ve taken a lot of criticism in the past. Some deserved, some not deserved. This time, I have no one to blame but myself. I chose to engage in an improper relationship. I also made several poor decisions following the end of that relationship and in the aftermath of the accident. I accept full responsibility for what has happened. I’m sure you heard (athletic director) Jeff Long’s reasons for termination. There was a lot of information shared. Given the decision that has been made, this is not the place to debate Jeff’s view of what happened. In the end, I put him in the position of having to sort through my mistakes and that is my fault. I have hurt my wife Becky and our four children. I’ve let down the University of Arkansas, my team, coaching staff and everyone associated with the Arkansas Razorback football program.
Earlier this afternoon, tensions ran high between the Cleveland Indians and the Colorado Rockies when Ubaldo Jimenez drilled his former teammate, Troy Tulowitzki. Tulo immediately dropped his bat and made toward the mound and Jimenez decided to meet him halfway. Benches cleared and not much else happened, but here is another view with the aftermath. More than a million Google+ users are keeping tabs on Britney Spears, who continues to be one of the most popular human beings on social networks. She is currently the first and only person to crack seven figures . In reaching the milestone, Spears beat Google CEO Larry Page and rapper / spiritual adviser (seriously, his Google Plus bio says that) Snoop Dogg. Not even six months old, Google Plus is already making a name for itself, although we’re guessing Jason Alexander is not one of the 1,078,900 following her there. Those followers pale in comparison to her 15.7 million Facebook fans and 11.9 million Twitter followers – two million of whom started following her since October. Oh well, give it time, Google Plus. We have faith. NOTE : Connect with THG on Google+ today!
The Game’s concert in Norway got ugly last night when the rapper dodged a flying bottle. Not taking kindly to the near miss, he went into the crowd after the guy! Game first warned the person, “Next time you throw something, I’m gonna ask someone next to you who threw it and we gon’ jump over there and f–k you up.” That apparently didn’t do the trick, since he charged into the crowd soon after. In the clip below, The Game can be heard saying, “You ain’t so tough now, boy.” He then returned to the stage very quickly, so we’re thinking no one ended up worse for the wear. Conflict resolution at its best. Check out the live exchange: The Game vs. Fan
Gold diggers: Like mother, like daughter. That’s what Vanessa Bryant’s former stepfather is saying about the soon-to-be ex-wife of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant. Stephen Laine said in the aftermath of Kobe Bryant’s divorce announcement that Vanessa, his spouse of 10 years, is acting just like her money-grubbing mom. “Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing],” he said. “In California … it’s considered a long term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until [Vanessa] remarries … just like her mother is doing to me.” Is that really fair, though? First off, Kobe was reportedly caught cheating after the wives of some of his teammates told Vanessa Bryant of the player’s increasingly frequent infidelities. Second, 10 years is a long ass time, and two kids are a lot of work. Yes, having kids to “trap” the dad is a baby mama staple, but this doesn’t seem like that. They married young, before Kobe was that rich (she stands to receive at least $75 million now), and despite whatever rep she has, she never seeks attention. Finally, she stood by Kobe after he was accused of RAPING someone. Enduring public humiliation isn’t part of the gold-digging handbook … $4 million ring or not. What do you think? Is Vanessa Bryant a gold digger?
