A few weeks after his first public statements since his arrest on sexual abuse charges – in which he admitted to showering with boys , but rejected any notion that he’s a pedophile – former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has spoken out again. With 40 charges already filed against him, and with a new accuser coming forth this week , Sandusky told The New York Times : “These allegations are false, I didn’t do those things. I’m not the monster everyone made me out to be. I didn’t engage in sexual acts.” Jerry Sandusky Interview The disgraced ex-coach will be in court on December 13 for a preliminary hearing, as he’s currently charged with molesting eight kids over a 15-year period. Sandusky told the newspaper that Joe Paterno – who was fired in the wake of this scandal – never said a word to him about the allegations. He also tried to clarify one of his responses in an interview with Bob Costas (above), as Sandusky initially stammered when asked whether or not he was “attracted to underage boys.” To The Times in this case, Sandusky said : “I enjoy spending time with young people. I enjoy spending time with people. I mean, my two favorite groups are the elderly and the young. The young because they don’t think about what they say and the old because they don’t care, you know?” Statements such as that don’t exactly help clear Sandusky’s name – seriously, the guy can’t just answer “no” when asked if he’s attracted to children – but he says this is all an instance of his actions being misunderstood and misinterpreted: “They’ve taken everything that I ever did for any young person and twisted it to say that my motives were sexual or whatever. I had kid after kid after kid who might say I was a father figure. And they just twisted that all.”
In the wake of both sexual harassment and infidelity allegations, Republication Presidential nominee Herman Cain suspended his campaign this afternoon, effectively ending his bid for the White House in 2012. Herman Cain Ends White House Bid “As of today, with a lot of prayer and soul searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign,” Cain said at an Atlanta rally, vowing that “I am not going to be silenced and I am not going away.” Cain cited the “continued distraction” of chatter over Ginger White’s claim that she carried on a 13-year affair – during which Cain supposedly showered her with gifts and financial help – with the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza as the basis for his decision. “These false and untrue allegations continue to be spinned in the media, and in the court of public opinion so as to create a cloud of doubt over me and this campaign and my family,” Cain said. “That spin hurts. It hurts my wife. It hurts my family. It hurts me. And it hurts the American people, because you are being denied solutions to our problems.” Even before White rose to national prominence, Cain was under pressure after several other women accused him of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct in the 1990s when he was the head of the National Restaurant Association. “One of declarations I want to make to you today is that I am at peace with my God. I am at peace with my wife, and she is at peace with me. And I am at peace with my family and at peace with myself,” Cain said.
The good news for Michael Lohan? He managed to NOT get arrested last night. The bad news? He was rushed to the hospital with heart problems and will undergo surgery today. Lohan reportedly complained of chest pains while residing in a Florida treatment and, following a blood pressure reading of 200/110, was immediately taken to the hospital. Doctors found a blood clot in one of Lindsay’s awful father’s lungs and will insert a stent into his heart this afternoon. Lohan also had surgery in February to fix an artery blockage. Selena Gomez may still have a restraining order against Thomas Brodnicki, but, unfortunately, it sounds like she may now actually need it. TMZ confirms that Brodnicki – who has reportedly told LAPD detectives and psychologists that God instructed him to kill the singer – is a free man after a judge dismissed all felony stalking charges against him this afternoon. The court decreed that even if Brodnicki said said these things, there’s no evidence that he plans to actually carry out the threats against Selena. Talk about a dangerous technicality, huh? Hold Selena extra close tonight, Justin Bieber.

Which is why earlier this year Movieline anointed Tarsem Singh ( The Cell, The Fall ) the honey badger of Hollywood ; an indie film talent recently gone mainstream — who wore a homemade shirt proclaiming “I’ve been media trained” at WonderCon — Tarsem’s infamously cheeky public persona might threaten to overtake his work if only his films, just three features to date counting this week’s Immortals , weren’t so distinctive and gorgeous.
