Surprising news out of the world of television this afternoon: Conan O’Brien is heading to TBS. Said the comedian in a statement: “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly.” The untitled talk show will debut in November. It will air Monday through Thursday and be followed by George Lopez’s Lopez Tonight , which has averaged over 1.2 million viewers during its first season. Ever since NBC totally screwed over Conan in January, insiders have assumed he’d end up on Fox. Tweeted the comic: The good news: I will be doing a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I’ll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show. This move ought to raise the profile of TBS, but the question remains: Will viewers shift to TBS along with O’Brien? This afternoon, self-professed Gleek Oprah Winfrey invited the cast of her favorite Fox musical program to her studio for a super-sized show. The cast dished on their amazing chemistry, took viewers behind-the-scenes of an upcoming episode featuring Neil Patrick Harris, then performed a redemptive version of their go-to crowd pleaser , “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Still, Oprah was not satisfied, because lead actor Matthew Morrison (aka “Mr. Schu”) had not yet performed. So, on her command, Morrison removed his jacket and initiated an impromptu breakdance competition with co-star Harry Shum Jr. Evidence of the crime after the jump. And please excuse the low quality video — Movieline HQ’ s sophisticated video equipment died out of embarrassment as soon as Oprah cued “Gold Digger.”

Six dead and 21 still missing after the Upper Big Branch Mine Blast yesterday, April 5, 2010. Upper Big Branch mine blast occurred at about 3:00 in the afternoon. Reports said that the possible cause of the Upper Big Branch mine explosion is the methane gas built up in a sealed off area of the mine. The same kind of mine explosion happened last 2006 in Sago where 12 miners killed. Upper Big Branch mine is owned by the Massey Energy and operated by Performance Coal Company. Rep. Nick J. Rahall II said that the mine explosion was the second major disaster in a Massey site. As of now, the Massey Energy and the United Mine Workers of America were helping each other to help the miners left in the mining area. United Mine Workers of America also said that even the Upper Big Branch mine is not part of their union, they’re still willing to help the families of the trapped miners.
