It’s Official: Izzy Stevens Is Gone

We spotted Katherine Heigl out and about running errands yesterday in LA.

Katherine Heigl on Grey’s Anatomy Exit: Sorry

Katherine Heigl is leaving Grey’s Anatomy . That you already know, or at least probably suspected. But now the star has officially confirmed the news herself. “ I am done ,” she said. “We finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working hard to find an amicable way of moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.” The actress says that it was family issues, not her burgeoning film career, that prompted her to approach series creator Shonda Rhimes and ask to be let go. Not sure if we buy that, as she’s been angling to be let go for several seasons now and just became a mom late last year, but hey, it definitely sounds better. “I started a family and it changed everything,” says Heigl, of adopted daughter, Naleigh, with husband Josh Kelley. “It changed my desire to work full-time.” COMING CLEAN : As much as Katherine Heigl can, anyway. Although she was scheduled to appear in this season’s final five episodes, that is not happening. The January 21 episode was the last we’ll see of her on the series that made her huge, as she’s already been on three-month maternity leave. “I know I’m disappointing the fans,” she says of her contentious, immature departure. “I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one.” One way to redeem herself to some fans ASAP? More Katherine Heigl nude scenes. Hot damn!

‘Drunk History’ to debut on HBO’s ‘Funny or Die Presents’

“Drunk History” is a brilliant web series where intoxicated people talk about historical events. It will appear tonight as part of HBO's “Funny Or Die Presents…” Though this isn't the first time the series has been mentioned on television. In August of 2008, infoMania's own Ben Hoffman sat down with the Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner for a Cewebrity Profile.

Japan gets the nod to kill whales again

Commercial whaling may soon resume, after being banned for nearly a quarter of a century. Secret talks, to be held in Florida at the beginning of next month, look like finalising a deal to allow Japan to begin killing the leviathans for gain once more. The deal would go to the International Whaling Commission for approval in June. World governments agreed to a moratorium on hunting in 1982, after species after species had been driven to the brink of extinction. The halt began five years later, but Japan has exploited a loophole that allows “scientific” whaling, ostensibly for research. It kills about 1,000 great whales around Antarctica annually. The deal remains under wraps, but is expected to allow the country to whale in its coastal waters. In return, Japan would slightly scale back its Antarctic hunt, but – in another victory for its government – that hunt might be legitimised. Iceland, which also conducts scientific whaling, and Norway, which legally exempted itself from the ban, may also agree to scale back their very much smaller operations. The idea is that fewer whales would be killed and an anarchic state of affairs brought under control. But conservationists fear that – apart from conceding a principle that represents one of their greatest international victories – the agreement would lead to other countries starting hunts in their coastal waters, and to a worldwide revival of officially sanctioned whaling. added by: jefftego

Perez Hilton, Black Eyed Peas Manager Settle Lawsuit

The civil lawsuit stemming from a now-infamous scuffle last year between annoying celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton and hot-tempered Black Eyed Peas manager Polo Molina has been dropped. A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge agreed Tuesday to dismiss the lawsuit, brought by Hilton against the Peas’ road manager (real name Liborio Molina) after the two sides agreed on a settlement . Terms of the settlement were not officially revealed. The decision comes three months after a Toronto assault charge against Molina was dropped. A photo of the melee in which Perez’s clock was cleaned. In November, Molina formally apologized to Hilton for kicking his ass outside a Toronto nightclub following the Much Music Video Awards in June 2009. The violence occured after the blogger (real name is Mario Lavandeira), admittedly exchanged heated comments with Will.i.am earlier that night. The Peas were upset at Perez’s negative coverage of them. Hilton, who is openly gay, referred to will.i.am as a f****t. The punches began flying. As part of the agreement, Molina made a donation to the city’s Red Door Family Shelter and agreed not to contact Hilton except through their lawyers, not to carry any weapons for 12 months and not go near the club where the fight occurred.
